I got my daughter her first Fancy Nancy book when she turned 2, and now everything that is girly she calls fancy Nancy, shoes, purses and anything sparkley! Great to read for bedtime too. I can't wait for the next books to come out!

I Can't understand why the first book was printed in the USA and this one is printed in CHINA! Is there lead in this book like many of their toys??

I purchased Fancy Nancy and the Posh Puppy to go along with the original Fancy Nancy book for my 5 year old granddaughter . . . I had them sent directly to her house while I knew I would be visiting so we could open them together and start reading. My granddaughter loved them and I had to read them several times during our first sitting! The story is very cute and age-appropriate, and the illustrations and colors are perfect for little girls her age. I wish these books had been out when my girls were little! I love the word "posh" because I was born in the country where it's most popularly used.

BIG Thumbs Up!.......2007-03-31

My overly active 20 month old loves this book and will sit still quietly for an entire reading...until we finish at which point she will throw a tantrum because the story is over. The illustrations are beautiful and captivating and the rhythm of the text is delightful. My next purchase will be "Please, Baby, Please." Great work, Lees. I will be keeping my eye out for more from you guys in the future.

My two year old cannot get enough of this book, he can hardly wait to get into his pajamas, "Puppy, Puppy", is all he can manage to say. The illustrations are beautiful, rich color, wonderful perspectives, the repeated phrases, which include a lot of "Please", can only be of great benefit.
In addition to being a great artist Kadir Nelson's work appears in some of the very best children's books.

The pictures in this book were awesome, but the choice of words was boring and my daughter had trouble saying them. It wasn't even a fun tongue twister.

I very highly recommend this book. My kids (4 and 2) wore out Please Baby Please, so I decided to get this one for them for Christmas. My daughter already has named the two kids in the book after she and her brother. My son turns to each page and says 'peace puppy peace.' We read it pretty much every night before bedtime. All of this and we don't even have a dog. The book is well written, true to life and the illustrations are great.

My 15 month old son loves this book and will go over to the shelf, pull it out and hand it to me. The artwork is beautiful. It's a fun and easy read.

Very Cute Stuffy/Book.......2006-04-08

I saw this product advertised in a parents magazine and thought it was such a cute idea. My son loves dogs and we love books by Sandra Boynton, so it seemed like a match made in heaven. The book is VERY simple, but it is soft, cute, and fun. There is a button you can press to make the dog bark (which really intrigues my son) and then a big pink tongue for slurping and slopping. It is cute. Not a big, long story...but cute.

Bah, humbug........2007-08-14

We're big fans of Ms. Meyers' earlier book, "Everywhere Babies," but this one was a big disappointment. The writing is simplistic and vacuous, and the artwork lacks the level of detail that made "Babies" so fascinating to read over the years. Plus, this puppy book is nauseatingly cutesy-wootsy (and I *like* cute books!) I'm sure there are lots of folks who'll love this book and get all puppy-wuppy over it, but it met with a pretty blank response in our household. (Axton)

There is a lot in this book which makes it ideal for preschool and early primary grade school children.
- The art is interesting, uncluttered and full of action.
- Although not every picture is a two page spread, many of them are which
provides a large picture easy to see if you are little and sitting in a group of peers.
- The book is full of interesting, and perhaps new, verbs in sentences that help put the word in context. ie: Tumbling, wrestling, racing puppies, Tugging, chewing, chasing puppies.
- The book is written in rhyme and with rhythm, making it a fun chant that moves along at a happy pace (much like puppies).
- At regular intervals the text has a refrain, "Here and there and everywhere, Puppies! Puppies! Puppies!" You will only have to say the refrain twice before young readers with "read" along with you. They LOVE to do this.
- Almost everyone finds puppies interesting.

Puppies not just being cute and perfect--also making puddles on the floor, chewing people's stuff, licking each other's earwax--will encourage readers to reread this one, looking at the huge variety of puppies in the vibrant vivacious illustrations. This would make a nice anchor for a readers-unit on puppy books for first or second grades. Always a good prompt for eager young writers, puppies as portrayed in this lively book will stimulate strong writing in classrooms as well as become a favorite read aloud in which children can participate.

Cute little book for kids!.......2007-07-24

I purchased The Poky Little Puppy for my niece, but I just had to read it too!! It's such a cute and easy book for kids to read. It's certainly a classic and kids of all ages (including adult "kids"!!) can enjoy this book and get that warm fuzzy feeling .... like you're right there watching the Poky Little Puppy escape under the fence. I actually felt sorry for the Poky Little Puppy when he had to go to bed without any strawberry shortcake!! Oh poor puppy!! One little reminder though: One of the desserts given to the puppies was chocolate pudding. I hope everyone will remind their kids that chocolate of any kind is not suitable for dogs, and is actually extremely poisonous to dogs and puppies. Once you explain that to your little one, and make sure they never feed Fido any type of chocolate, you can enjoy the rest of the book! :)
