Customer Reviews:
A Great Learning Tool!.......2007-09-19
As a vet student I am using this book to study for anatomy. The pictures are detailed and accurate! This is a great resource for learning equine anatomy, and coloring in the pictures helps with memorization.
Good overview, nice drawings.......2007-07-17
This item is named 'coloring atlas', so I expected colours and pictures, but it is drawings with no colours. This book gives an excellent overview i a very systematic manner. Good to get understanding, but not details i excess.
great equine anatomy book.......2007-05-15
This equine anatomy book is great for 4-H kids, especially those studying for Hippology. It's also great for pre-vet students or even veterinary students.
Great Teaching Tool for Young Riders .......2007-05-10
Making anatomy interesting for middle and high school kids is a tough task at best. This book takes advantage of the natural love of horses to teach them more about horses in a very scientific way. And it's fun. A nice tool to use on days when the weather makes riding impossible.
Excellent resource.......2007-01-09
This book contains very large and clear illustrations and excellent captions. It is exactly what I have been searching for and have not been able to find even though I have used several books and resources before. I can highly recommend this book.

Book Description
Not since the early 1970s has there been an attempt to describe and illustrate the anatomy of the developing mouse embryo. More than ever such material is needed by biologists as they begin to unravel the molecular mechanisms underlying development and differentiation. After more than ten years of painstaking work, Matt Kaufman has completed
The Atlas of Mouse Development--the definitive account of mouse embryology and development.
For all those researching or studying mammalian development, The Atlas of Mouse Development will be the standard reference work for many years to come.
Key Features
* Provides a comprehensive sequential account of the development of the mouse from pre-implantation to term
* Contains clear and concise descriptions of the anatomical features relevant to each stage of development
* Large format for easy use

Customer Reviews:
Its good......NOT great.......2007-09-27
It is a good book, especially if you like to color.....but that is the only great thing about it. It lacks important detail, thus it is a coloring book only!
A Colouring Atlas of Dog Anatomy.......2007-09-22
I am extremely happy with the purchase of this particular book. As a student of Animal Bowen Therapy, I require information that is explanatory and easy to understand. This book is all of that and more. The pictures are simple and it is very easy to see the different aspects of the anatomy of a dog.
I received the book in wonderful timing and as always, found the transaction to be easy and non fuss. I will continue to shop for my books this way as it is 9 times out of 10 the cheapest and best way to do it.

Dog Anatomy A Coloring Atlas.......2007-09-07
Beautiful pictures with clear information. This book is required for the Comparative Anatomy class that I am taking. I would highly recomend this book for any vet tech students suffering from information overload. Great help in understanding the basics.
Dog Anatomy: A Coloring Atlas.......2007-07-16
This is an excellent resource for anyone who is studying dog anatomy for any reason. Illustrations are detailed and clearly labelled. I am using this as a reference for a Canine Myotherapy certification course.
Not detailed enough for Vet Students.......2006-11-11
I am a first year veterinary student, and I bought this book thinking it would be a good tool for reviewing my anatomy. Definitely not the case!!! The book is not detailed enough to satisfy the veterinary student (at least not at Tufts!). This is especially true for the nerves and bones. I would recommed getting the Evans and deLahunta "Guide to the Dissection of the Dog" instead, and coloring in their black and white illustrations.

The Rhesus Monkey Brain in Stereotaxic Coordinates

Rhythms of the Brain
ASIN: 0123725593 |
Book Description
This atlas maps the detailed architectonic subdivisions of the cortical and subcortical areas in the macaque monkey brain using high-resolution magnetic resonance (MR) images and the corresponding histology sections in the same animal. This book presents the detailed mapping of the architectonic areas in the horizontal plane of sections with reference to the MRI that has not been reported previously in macaque monkeys. In the second part of the atlas, the coronal plane is presented using the same technique. A third part shows the quick identification of several important cortical and subcortical areas (around 30 areas) in horizontal, coronal and sagittal MR images. This atlas is unlike anything else available as it includes and compares each section to imaging data. This is a significant progress, as the vast majority of research in the field now routinely work with fMRI images.
· Provides the first combined MRI and Histology maps of the cortical and subcortical areas of any non-human primate species
· Shows the first detailed delineations of the cortical and subcortical areas in both horizontal and coronal planes in the same animal using five different staining methods
· Illustrates the entire dorsoventral extent of the left hemisphere in 47 horizontal MRI and photomicrographs matched with 47 detailed diagrams (Chapter 3)
· Presents the full rostrocaudal extent of the right hemisphere in 76 coronal MRI and photomicrographs, and 76 corresponding drawings (Chapter 4)
· Illustrates the selected cortical and subcortical areas in horizontal, coronal and sagittal MRI planes (Chapter 5)
· Provides the sterotaxic grid derived from the in-vivo MR image
· Likely to become a standard reference for anatomical, physiological, and functional imaging studies in primates (fMRI, PET and MEG)
Customer Reviews:
Outstanding Work.......2007-06-20
This superb and richly illustrated atlas of the Macaque brain is a neuroanatomist's dream. It combines brain slices stained with several different methods with corresponding structural MRI slices, stereotaxic coordinates and detailed drawings demarcating landmarks, cytoarchitectonic and functional regions. It should be considered the Gold Standard for anyone working with the Macaque brain.

Customer Reviews:
useful, but rather expensive for the student.......2000-05-21
This book is extremely useful, both for practicioners and in cytology labs. It has a lot of pictures which were a real asset when looking at cytology slides. There was also some text provided which was also useful when looking at slides.

An Atlas of Animal Anatomy for Artists.......2007-06-18
My daughter really liked this book but she wants to be a Veterinarian. Very involved. Excellent book if you want to capture all the nuances of the animals body. A must have for the serious animal artist. It helps to know the correct structure of the animal.
useful 3d modeling guide.......2007-01-11
I bought this book after a classmate in my 3d organic modeling class brought it in to share. It is great as reference for 3d modeling in maya, zbrush, whatever you are using. That's because it has all kinds of view like side, top, front and even more detail drawings of paws or head. The price is affordable too and the softcover makes it easy to scan and flip.
Great work.......2005-08-15
This is an easy book to understand an animal anatomy for people leaning toward the creative side of life and missing some understanding of the scientific part.
Not for the ordinary Joe.......2005-05-21
Not worth the buy: Borrow it or get it at a flea market. First off, it looks like some biology book, nothing artistic about it. The book is filled with old drawings that are probably royalties free anyway. Maybe it's OK as a reference book.
Get Jack Hamm's book instead: More tips and tricks on drawing animals.
Great Book for Artists.......2005-01-19
This is exactly what I needed for doing horse sculptures. A+ Very happy with my purchase. Will also use it for the other animals!

Review of the large animal atlas.......2006-11-10
This book is an excellent resource for the serious student of veterinary medicine and clinician alike. The pictures and illustrations are so complete it is almost as good as a virtual dissection. The format is easily moved through and the quality of the book in material, picture, discussion, etc. are authoritative and extremely helpful to the novice and allow for quick reference for the experienced clinician.
Spurgeon's Color Atlas of Large Animal Anatomy.......2000-06-11
I am a fourth year vet student and have found this book to be a great clinical reference book. It is an especially useful tool for rectal palpation - an essential skill for any large animal practitioner to master. I highly recommend Spurgeon's Atlas to anyone interested in large animal anatomy.
