I've been getting this calendar for years now -- my kids especially love seeing what new kitty awaits them each day (plus, after the pages are removed I often use the reverse to write notes to the kids - they like getting a note with a cute cat on the reverse - and it's some vague form of recycling.)
The blurbs that accompany each photo are sometimes informative...mostly basic stuff that a cat owner should already know, but occasionally a new trivial tidbit is tossed my way. I tend to prefer the pages that use the space to tell about the pet pictured.
All-in-all, it's a great gift for a cat owner or cat lover.

Our office always has cat calendars in the kitchen but we all agree this is the BEST. Photography is superb. Just one caveat - read the directions. A co-worker discovered too late that for the first half of the year you have to change dates by putting the old picture back in the holder for the 2nd half of the year pictures on the back.

This pair of Swedish sheep are the heroes of several much-beloved books... This is the only one I've seen, but it's a favorite around our house, and I look forward to tracking a few more of these books down and checking them out. Here, Boo and Baa are out doing some yardwork when a little black-and-white cat gets stuck in a tree, and when they try to get it down, Boo winds up a tree himself. The most captivating thing about these books is the kooky sense of humor: it's very, very subtle, but very, very sweet. Also, for those of us looking for nonviolent entertainment that isn't completely bland, this is a wonderful option. This is best for the littlest readers, but parents will appreciate the nuances of Landstrom's artwork, and the gentle, calming vibe of the story. Recommended. (ReadThatAgain!)

I'm a teacher and writer who collects children's books, and I bought this book because it was so incredibly well reviewed by the Spring 2007 Horn Book Guide. I have to agree that it's a little masterpiece. The illustrator can do things with facial expressions that I've only ever seen two other places: Mo Willems's stuff and the Wallace and Grommit films. Plus the story has a quiet humor worthy of a Charlie Chaplin interlude. I suggest you meet Boo and Baa!

I bought this Bad Cat calendar for a friend for Christmas, and I have been keeping it in my car (with the plastic still on, of course) to read while I am shopping around. And, this is just the front and back cover! It just makes me laugh out loud and smile at every photo! I am not a #1 cat fan, but I love how Bat Cat really dives into what cats are *really* thinking!! I am going to have to buy my own...

If you're a cat person, you'll find this an a-meow'sing must have. There are a lot of chuckles inside and plenty of cute cats, occasionally caught in not-so-cute moments. Best of all, it's a nicely made and very usable daily planner.
Only negative: The quality of a few of the pictures is poor but that's a minor quibble.

For God's sake, It's a calendar! But why shouldn't you smile when you look at it? Are there so many things in life that make you smile at the thought of it? I don't think so!
Besides, it's well laid out, the dates are clear, the holidays are marked.. mind you, you can't use it in Quebec, as it doesn't have the saints days, except St Patrick, but I think it's pretty good for the anglo world, including New Zealand (has their holidays!). Enjoy!
A Yearly 'must have' in our household.......2007-01-30
I'm in big trouble if I don't get this each year for my wife. This is 'the' calendar for hanging on the refrigerator and keeping track of daily appointments, events, etc. Lots of daily space makes it very useful. The only improvement would be 2 hanging holes at the top instead of one; we make so much use of it that it needs to be more modified for stability.

Like many of the other calendars I use each year this one immediately became a must have item in my home. The pictures are so adorable they will put a smile on your face on the grumpiest of days! Calendar is made of excellent quality paper it doesnt warp or fade and this calendar makes a great gift idea also. Widely available in stores but also at a better price and sooner at Amazon! I wonder if they have a 365 cats a year wall calendar! I would surely purchase that as well!

First there was one tabby, then two, then three and before long there are going to be cats everywhere. Why? Because one very special kitty has just become heir to the vast fortune of millionaire Arthur Arbuthnot.
Gossip maven Annabel Hinchby-Smythe has been mistaken for an interior decorator by Arbuthnot and hired on the spot to liven up his dreary mansion. Short on cash, she plays along and decides she can do what he wishes. Alas, murder is afoot and before long the millionaire is dead and a motley crew of relatives and hangers-on are fighting over a fortune that has been left to Arbuthnot's pet kitty, one he rescued from a life in the alley. I enjoyed this title quite a bit, for both the adorable title characters and the incredibly neurotic cast. Ms. Annabel Hinchby-Smythe meets at a gathering a wealthy tycoon who needs his house redecorated, and thinks she'd be perfect for it after he mistakes her from an interior designer. His relatives all have different ideas about the design, until he ends up dead and everything goes insane. The cat inherits all and soon Annabel is doing everything she can to save the original and several imposters!
The first few chapters were simply pure gold, and the rest always stayed solidly interesting. Watching the constant verbal and unspoken power struggle between willful people used to getting no gruff is fascinating, from the conservative Zania to the forward Tara. Even the cats, indignant and demanding, are part of it; they were born to play politics. The constant bickering is more exciting than dull, and breathes life and personality into the large cast.
There isn't much tension, but the fare is light enough that it doesn't need much. There are plots and counterplots, and genuine uncertainty about the outcome; since every finger is dipped in the honeypot, any could be the hand that struck death. False clues about, with the culprit of choice changing every few chapters but the evidence still adding up to the conclusion in hindsight.
And of course, the cute Sally, Sassy, and Salvadore are simply grand in their roles. Take a look if you have the chance and enjoy fluffy mysteries.
Great fun. Solid cozy plot........2002-10-31
THE COMPANY OF CATS is just the right length for a very enjoyable quick-reading cozy. Her style reminds me of Lydia Adamson's. So, if you like this one, check out Adamson's "cat" books. This one is all plot -- it has almost no sense of place. In fact, a couple of times I lost track of where everybody was. And the many characters were rather cartoonish and not too deeply drawn. But that's O.K. It was still a lot of fun. Babson's books are NOT a series -- each stands alone, so you can start with any one of them. I'm really enjoying them.

This is a very good book. I couldn't put it down. The writing is fast, the characters interesting, the cats most lovable. I enjoyed the main character, Annabel. She was clever and a push over for a cat (cats) in distress. I will add this writer to my list of favorite mystery writers.
