Learning to pray the answer.......2007-09-21
Prayers That Avail Much - This book helps one to pray the answer, not the problem. After Amen! - to there it is, it helps you state your case, keeping God in remembrance with Thanksgiving until you see the circumstances change. Isa.43:23
Definetly a blessing.......2007-07-15
I actually bought another copy of this book for my family member, it has been a huge blessing to me and my husband.
Excellent Tool.......2007-06-25
Prayers That Avail Much books are excellent. You can find help with every kind of situation that arises. I used the book for Teens to teach a class and the group wanted to buy the book. They were excited.
Great book of everyday prayers.......2007-05-26
This is a fantastic book of everyday, every situational prayers. To make it even better, they have them nicely indexed in the front so you can locate the exact prayer you need. Add the soft leather binding and the book just feels right in your hand.
Absolutely a must have for you prayer warriors or anyone looking to expand their prayer library.
Not very availaing!.......2007-05-17
I had purchased this book as a reference for sacred space consultations, in particular with blessings and personal healing. I have since returned this book as I found it not very inspiring nor powerful in its wording. I do not feel that I am speaking to God but rather just reciting meaningless mantras.

The Message.......2007-10-01
How can one improve on the Bible??? But The Message puts the Word in clear and concise English. Anyone can understand.
The print is too small!!!.......2007-09-12
I had to return it. The print is too small. The description should note that somewhere but it doesn't
The Message Bible.......2007-09-06
This Bible is great. The modern day language is very easy to understand. I would recommend this Bible to anyone who has a hard time understanding the King James versoin.
Nothing but praise for The Messenger.......2007-08-24
I bought this book because I thought it was in large print. I gave my last book to a person who really needed to read the word and she loved it -- so I let her keep it -- so I purchased this one for me.
The young lady who kept this book said the Messenger explained the bible to her in such a way she could understand it better. She gave nothing but praise for the Messenger.
Feels like a movie.......2007-08-14
The wording of this Bible translation is truely significant.
It's like a movie script that's written about your life.
I recommend this Bible to anyone, especially those who never read the Bible before, but also for those who made the misstake of getting used to the Bible.
Read a bit every morning. If you're open to God, you'll notice that waking up this way couldn't be better!
(One thing to note though: The fontface of this version is pretty small. I'd get a larger format for pleasent reading and underlining.)

Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Fabulous.......1998-11-04
I cannot remember how many times I have got off the loo with terrible pins and needles as a result of becoming too absorbed in this book. There is a remarkable amount of fascinating technical and anecdotal information which directly enhances ones enjoyment when it comes to drinking Burgundy.
Many books leave me begging for more, whereas as Norman's has got it just about right.

Dogma for the Sexually Deranged.......2007-03-22
The "Word of God" has had a huge impact on my life, in particular, and on the course of human history in the West in general, naturally. This review is my attempt to register my aversion and annoyance for a very distressing trend by spewing electrons of resentment and protest into the ether. That trend that bothers me so much? America's irrational trend toward what one famous astronomer called a "demon haunted world."
Can anyone have faith in the progress of the human race in light of the number of people who anchor their entire existence on a pack of self-contradictory fictions? Believers who attack religious skeptics for being critical of the current attempt to foist theocracy upon us (by the politicized evangelical right in America) are not inclined to use reason, so there is no point in dialogue. But there are good points to be made in protest. What is most ironic, not most surprising, is the un-Christian lack of charity X-tians display in confronting what the skeptic is saying. All paradoxes are really only apparent. That is what X-tians represent: belief in a god that is worse than the devil they also seem to think they need; talk of charity is a Christian smoke screen. Belief in this omnipotent beast is like having an imaginary older brother to beat up your school-yard enemies. Some should read their folklore more carefully. God-sanctioned infanticide inflicted on his people's enemies is common. Young girls raped to death to prove a point for God -- yes, that's in the holy scripture. Start with Genesis and work your way through Joshua or one of the Samuels if you think this mythology a harmless benevolent spiritualism, the reverence for an all-loving god. What complete nonsense. It won't shock, I hope, to say that many believers are completely on board with the idea of frying most of us nonbelievers in hell. That's in keeping. Our loving god became so exasperated by a harmless but intransigent fig tree that he felt he needed to curse it and kill it---one example among many of Jesus's so-called love. Sermon on the Mount notwithstanding, Jesus obviously demanded unquestioning allegiance on par with the feudalistic fealty demanded by Hellenistic monarchs. Of course, the apparent truth of all that depends upon if the literary Jesus actually existed, a figure for whom there is no real evidence to be found in history. The Canonical Christ being a composite, comic-bookish superhero meant to cow darkages peasants to bend to Rome's will, we'll never know the real man. The "facts" of his so-called "life" in the Gospels really point to the history of his brother James; it is unlikely the redacted Gospels have very much substantive truth about the real man we call Jesus (i.e. Joshua). Reading between the historical lines suggests the real Jesus was very likely a zealot, given the company he kept, a sword-carrying Roman hater who was crucified per the imperial norm for political rebels and "inovators." The one or possibly two historical references to his name suggest he was indeed a political rebel. Let us hope religious sentiment today in the face of reason is analogous to the flare-up of a candle just before extinction. That at least is an encouraging thought, something to keep in mind. The world will one day be a better place, the day all dogmatic superstition is relegated to our darkened past. Credo quia absurdum.
Excellent buy.......2007-01-05
This is a good study Bible. King James is the only way to go - the only true word of God. This has good references.
The Reading Are So Much Clearly Able For Me To Understand!!.......2007-01-05
Easy to read and understand, plus the Commentary really explain and break it down to my understanding. Just a Great Awesome Bible!!
Great Study Bible!.......2006-11-04
What's to say about the bible: The most important book in the world! But if you're not satisfied with just reading it, and actually want to study what the deepest meanings are: This is the bible of choice! It offers years of offerings from some of the most respected religious leaders of our time and is most impressive with it's vast knowledge base of information that literally makes you a scholar of the word. For anyone wanting more from God's amazing arsenal of scriptural content, look no further! You'll be most pleased! I highly recommend this bible for a gift item to those just learning about the word as well. Either way, it's a great purchase!
The Word of God.......2006-08-23
This King James Study Bible is excellent. There is a lot of history about who wrote each book, an outline at the beginning of each book to help find scripture and a breakdown of scripture when necessary.
I have come back to the Lord and this Bible has helped me greatly in my daily Bible study. It is my opinion that the KJV bible is the true words of the Lord.
I highly recommend this Bible to others seeking the Word of God.

Customer Reviews:
barnes and noble and borders cannot compete with these prices.......2007-08-13
simple the best bible on the market for a new believer especially. the price at amazon is unbeatable.
Great translation and study aids.......2007-07-09
I probably have over a dozen Bibles and none are as good as this one. I love the "New Living Translation" it make reading the Bible more understandable and removes the ambiguity which many translations have. The thumb indexes are great for looking up references and the large print makes reading the text easier for those of us who need reading glassed. My only complaint is that the "Life Application" notes are not in large print and requires reading glasses where the Bible text is large enough to read without them. I would recommend this bible to anyone who need a large print Bible. For those of you who don't need the large print can get this same Bible with normal type. I love this Bible and you would too.
Great Bible.......2007-06-15
This is the NLT2 in Large Print, Black Bonded Leather. Now remember, when you buy this Bible it is no little object. It is over 3100 pages and probably over 4 pounds as well. The print is much, much easier to read than on the normative Life App Bibles. I was hoping this edition would become available in the Tu-Tone leathers(which are soft and beautiful), but evidently there are no plans for such, so the binding is the typical stiff, rough-feeling bonded leather. The print is great, the notes are, too, and it is one very acceptable accurate translation that is easy to read and understand. Enjoy.
Great readability!.......2007-06-14
The New Living Translation is highly readable and this version, with thumb tabs and large print, greatly enhances that attribute. It is perfect for older readers and those new to the bible.
Bible for preachers and laymen.......2007-03-14
The print, the paper, the binding, the colored covers, and everything from cover to cover is excellent. It has been very useful for my wife and for me as we both use it for our preachings particularly during these lenten days.It is a gift from above.
Customer Reviews:
Great.......2007-08-16
I love this bible and I take it everywhere with me. The words are kind of small but I am able to read it.
Very lovely binding but TOO SMALL to read for long.......2007-03-30
This Bible is a lovely, compact size for bringing church, beautifully bound in leather.
Unfortunately the print is VERY small, and the lines are too close to together. I'm only in my thirties and I find it unpleasant to read for any length of time. This would not be a good study bible for that reason. It's best recommended as a bible to bring to church or work.
I do not advise you to order this unless you really are sure you want it, because it comes sealed, and Amazon will not accept opened returns.
satisfied customer.......2007-02-10
The edition ws exellent, well made and the person who was gifted with it was delighted
Absolutely Beautiful, such a Treasure.......2007-02-01
I love how understated, elegant and just gorgeous this book is! It's just the size, color, just everything I wanted! I'm thrilled....
Wonderful.......2007-01-28
The size, durability, and protection are what were really appealing to me when I purchase this Bible, and I have not been disappointed at all. I travel around quite a bit, and the Bible that was traveling along with me was taking quite a beating... this works perfectly.
Book Description
The first Geneva Bible opened the pages of Scripture for all readers and provided helpful notes to assist in the understanding of its central message. The Reformation Study Bible, under the editorial leadership of reformed scholars such as R.C. Sproul and J.I. Packer, offers a modern restatement of Reformation truth for the broad evangelical community. A wonderful resource for anyone who desires to understand the impact the powerful truths of the Reformation have had on today's church. Available in the New King James Version.
Customer Reviews:
The best available.......2007-10-03
This is the best modern translation of the scriptures and is especially good for reading aloud. The study notes are the best reflecting Reformed theology.
Great Translation and Great Study Bible.......2007-08-10
The ESV is the leading modern translation for serious students of God's Word. The study notes in this Bible are, as you would expect, from a Reformed perspective, and great benefit is to be had by reading the Word and studying along with the notes. I bought this as a gift, and now I am going to get one for myself.
A Great Study Bible.......2007-07-24
I am very pleased with this bible. Ligonier Ministries did a wonderful job. Everyone else involved did a fantastic job as well. I strongly suggest this study bible to anyone. The ESV is a great literal translation that is quickly becoming my favorite. A must have in my library to be sure.
Disappointed.......2007-07-22
This could be a great study-Bible, but its not. The ESV is the most accurate translation from the original tongues and is highly regarded as such. This version needs a great deal of "polishing up" to make a great study-Bible. The print needs to be darker for starters; the concordance is lacking; maps are very distasteful, the notes are not easy to read, and it lacks depth. I would not buy this again if I had it to do over. It is a very mediocre study-Bible as it is.
For The Next Edition.......2007-06-07
Putting aside the surprising omission of a set of maps, the content of this study bible is superb - ESV, cross references, concordance, excellent notes and very helpful theological articles.
But the book itself is large and HEAVY, not very convenient to carry around, let alone hold and read for extended periods of time.
The publishers need to get expert advice on quality issues relating to paper, printing and binding techniques to produce a more compact, lighter edition.
Customer Reviews:
The Bible Of Choice.......2007-09-27
Sproul's ESV, leather-bound Reformation Bible smacks of impeccability and biblical integrity. I found that my personal experience when opening it for the first time, related to one of extreme joy, after searching for weeks and pondering the various options the Reformed Evangelical is presented with.
A quality 'God-breathed' Holy Bible.
The Reformation ESV - A Hit and Miss Project...........2007-09-22
The ESV Reformation Study Bible offered here is a very big improvement over the shoddy and ill made Crossway ESVs that we had to endure when the ESV first came out. This edition does have a better binding and the pages are sewn in signature sections and not single sheets. Also the Black Leather cover (while rather stiff and unsupple for an $80 dollar price tag) does look like it will stand up to prolonged use.
However, the paper quality of this edition leaves something left to be desired. Weighed in comparison to the Oxford Scofield III ESV the paper quality in this Bible is found to be wanting. The pages have an annoying glare or sheen when used in a brightly lit room (a dead giveaway of cheap paper). This can be very distracting to the reader and has been mentioned in other reviews of this Bible. Why Lingonier Ministries went cheap on the paper quality is obvious - cost. I guess they felt they needed to make more of a profit and skimped on the paper quality. Unfortunate.
Also, can you believe that there are NO MAPS in the back of the Bible??? I find that rather chintsy for the price that the publishers asked for this edition. Someone dropped the ball here on this one. Again, I think they just got cheap on us like they did with the paper quality.
All in all this Bible is a HIT AND MISS project. The ESV Reformation Study Bible is still better made than the cheap Bibles put out by Thomas Nelson and Zondervan - so that is a factor to consider if you like a Bible that will last more than a year of prolonged use. The study notes and commentary are on a par with those found in the Macarthur Study Bible. They do make for more useful study and exegesis of the text.
The only other ESV worth buying out there is the Oxford Scofield III Edition but the Scofield has fewer notes than the Reformation Bible.
Note on the ESV translation: The ESV is an evangelical revision of the RSV(Revised Standard Version) that corrects the non-Christian interpretations of the RSV in the Old Testament and improves the accuracy throughout with more literal renderings. It also updates the language somewhat. An example is provided below:
RSV
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, a YOUNG WOMAN shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
ESV
Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the VIRGIN shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
The Reformation Study Bible: Englsih Standard Version.......2007-07-04
Fine leather edition; plenty big print. I have many Bibles, this is the only esv version. The print is easy to read; I would like it if the notes explaining what the actual word means (hin=4 quarts) were a little bigger. The print on the page is very clean.
Reformation Study Bible.......2007-03-09
The English Standard Version is very easy to read. The Study Notes, Charts, Maps, etc. found throughout are outstanding. I teach ladies' adult Sunday School and would not be without this.
Very fine study Bible.......2007-03-01
This is a very nice Bible. The leather cover comes soft enough to lay flat. The layout of the text of the Bible is very appealing. The font is fairly large and easy to read. The fonts the publishers used are quality and the articles are informative and presentable. There is also plenty of room to highlight and write notes. I'm very pleased. Enjoy!

Holy Bible.......2007-07-31
Love it the giant print makes it very easy to read. References help you dig deeper into God's Word. The NIV translation reads well and is understandable. I would recommend buying this Bible the price is right.
Zondervan giant print Bible.......2007-06-12
This Bible is excellent for older eyes. It is really
easy for my wife to read.
Almost perfect........2007-05-07
This edition would be "perfect" if the references were "center column" instead at the end of the verse. End-of-verse references are just the bare minimum. Though the NIV is a good translation, the lack of sufficient references in this edition make it less than perfect for a study Bible. The type is great though....VERY easy to read.
