4 out of 5 stars Almost Exactly What I Was Looking For.......2007-10-11

I was looking for a cookbook that follows the guidelines of South Beach Diet and had quick, easy recipes for a busy lifestyle. This book is full of them! It doesn't have a lot of recipes for Phase I, which was a little disappointing. I think it's most important to hook people with good food during Phase I, otherwise they never make it to Phase II. Everything I've cooked so far tastes very good. The variety of recipes and ingredients is impressive. It goes very far to show that just because you're dieting doesn't mean you can't have tasty food.

5 out of 5 stars The South Beach Diet Quick & Easy Cookbook.......2007-09-24

If you are on a low or no carb diet or just want to eat healthier, this is a valuable tool.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect Cookbook for South Beach Quick Meals!.......2007-09-24

This book is exactly as described. It has recipes that we have already used more than once! It is the only cookbook I have been using since we received it in the mail!

4 out of 5 stars It is Good, But is it Complete?.......2007-09-20

There is a lot to The South Beach Diet that makes it so popular, and this cookbook makes a perfect addtion to the diet book. However, I think that we in North America, while chasing the perfect body, forgot about what really matters - the perfect health.

I am a creature that trusts everybody, but not without a dose of skepticism. Therefore I always make a point of trying new approaches on my own before expressing any opinion. After going trough The South Beach Diet I realized that Agatston is just updated version of old Atkins. Although these two low carb approaches certainly bring good results from the point of loosing weight, I am not really convinced that this is what one needs to focus on. First of all, it is a hard diet to follow, and sooner or later one is bound to break some of the rules. Secondly, I find that in a healthy diet we need carbs the same way as we need fats and proteins.

Out of all approaches to losing weight, the one that makes most sense to me is presented by Dr. Tombak in his book "Can We Live 150 Year" Using simple language he talks abut all aspect of health and longevity. Following some simple food combination guidelines, and not letting your stomach direct your actions are the basic things that one needs to do. As the author advises: "Eat to live instead of living to eat!" I think that this is the most important thing when considering nutrition. South Beach Diet is good and working, but Agatston missed this one point...

5 out of 5 stars good addition to the diet book.......2007-09-14

This cookbook is a good supplement to the book. It provides a number of tasty alternatives that were fairly easy to prepare.

Book Description

Giants. We must face them. Yet, we need not face them alone.

This profound look at the life of David digs deeply into the defeats he suffered, and the victories he won, as he faced the giants in his life. When David focused on God, giants tumbled. But when David focused on giants… he stumbled.

Goliaths still roam in our world. Debt. Disaster. Dialysis. Divorce. Deceit. Disease. Depression. These super-sized challenges swagger and strut into our lives, pilfering our sleep, embezzling our peace and robbing us of our joy. And while these giants try to dominate our lives, we know what to do! We've learned what David learned, and we do what David did. We become God focused. We pick up five stones. We make five decisions. And we take a swing.

3 out of 5 stars Overcoming circumstances.......2007-09-29

I was given this book, it was a good read, but the information wasn't anything new, nor was it very impressive. It was a smooth reader, but almost to the point of beating a dead horse. Now, I am not putting down the work of the Cross or Jesus or the Holy Spirit or even King David. It's just the same ole story with a different author. I did find some of Max's antedotes and case histories of his own family interesting and the view of the Rainbow, that was most interesting.

Would I buy the book, no. Would I recommend someone else to buy the book? Not really. There are better books for the money.

Here are some examples: They Smell Like Sheep by Dr. Lynn Anderson
True Discipleship by Kossler, The Holiest of All by Andrew Murray, Power Filled Living by R.A. Torrey. These are just a few.

I've found when we are facing the giants, if we focus on God, Center ourself on Him, in Him and then look outside the box, so-to-speak and allow the Spirit of God to lead us to someone else that is hurting more than ourselves, God will work out our problems usually by the interaction of our neighbors.

In Christ we pray. Amen.

5 out of 5 stars Learning from David's Triumphs and Mistakes.......2007-09-21

Max Lucado is known for his encouraging books, and this book is no exception. Here, he studies King David, both the good and the bad, to show us how to face the giants in our lives.

The ultimate lesson is simple, when your focus is on God, giants fall. Yet he uses stories from first and second Samuel, both the good and the bad, to show us how this played out in David's life.

The book works as a biography, showing us the events in David's life as they happened. While most chapters are a self contained lesson, it does allow us to see how one event often led to another.

Obviously, we see David fighting Goliath. But we also see him hiding from Saul, his friendship with Jonathan, hiding with the enemy, keeping his promises, falling into adultery and murder with Bathsheba, and watching his own children spin out of control. From this we learn the importance of friends and family, but ultimately the importance of putting our focus on God.

Max Lucado very rarely brings anything new to the table. That's certainly the case here. There is very little I haven't heard before. But he always puts such a fresh, encouraging spin on things, I always see things in a new light. And even when admonishing us, he still does it gently.

I set this book down reluctantly when I finished. My heart was encouraged, and my focus was where it needed to be, God. If you need some help remembering where your focus needs to be, this book is for you.

5 out of 5 stars Max's Best .......2007-09-17

This is absolutely the most enlightening and funny book I've ever read from a Christian author.
This wonderful book is deep enough for an elephant to swim in, yet shallow enough for a child to wade in.
That describes Facing Your Giants to a T.

4 out of 5 stars Like all Lucado books, awesome.......2007-09-06

An insightful tie to old testament events around Davids life and life for us today.

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful book!.......2007-08-26

Story of King David's successes and failures confronting the giants in his life, and how we can learn from them. Many challenging question in study guide at the end of book.

Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars Good but lacking.......2007-07-24

The book gives you exactly what it promises but not too much more. It doesn't really go above and beyond and that is why it gets three stars. I will be using it for performance evaluation ideas on reviewing terms. Anything else and the book would not be up to it.

2 out of 5 stars Starter book on performance reviews........2007-05-28

This book would not be terribly helpful to someone who's had some experience in writing performance reviews. It's very basic, but may be a good starting point for a new manager or supervisor.

4 out of 5 stars Ready to use .......2006-09-18

This book gets right to what you need, phrases for the performance review. This isn't a book you read but a book you use. Grab this book from the shelf, look up the skill or ability, match the performance and choose the phrase that fits best. This approach is straight forward and to the point. A must have for all managers. Then add the documented measurements of that performance like the number of days missed, etc...

5 out of 5 stars Perfect phrases.......2006-07-25

Excellent resource for dealing with difficult employees; perfect phrases to use in human relations situtuations.

1 out of 5 stars Not-so-perfect-phrases.......2006-03-27

Although this book is helpful in writing reviews, the lanugage in the book is very primary, and not useful for management type positions. I was disappointed in the book.

Customer Reviews:

3 out of 5 stars OK, but not helpful for me.......2007-09-13

I bought this book because the table of contents looked good and it had so many 5-star reviews. However, after reading it cover-to-cover I did not find it very helpful for my particular situation. I lost both my parents when a drunk boater hit them (they were in knee deep water and he came ashore at full speed). While this book acknowledges the extra feelings that come from sudden loss, it does not address the complex images left after a violent homicide, and dealing with the drawn-out legal process.

Also, none of the self-help suggestions were appealing or really plausable for me ... I stay home with 3 kids age 3 and under, and I can't go out and shout in a forest or get into aromatherapy.

5 out of 5 stars Survival! That is what grief is all about!.......2007-06-21

After I lost my son in a tragic accident, this book reinstilled my hope and helped me cope with my heart wrenching grief over a parent's worst nightmare - that of losing a child.

5 out of 5 stars GIFT.......2007-06-01

Sent this as a gift to someone who experienced sudden and unexpected loss of loved one. Apparently it was a comfort and very much appreciated. It was my way of speaking words I didn't have. Good book for it's purpose!

5 out of 5 stars How to handle grief when it first happens.......2007-05-13

This book helps you understand what you or a loved one is going through during those first weeks of grief. It was enormously helpful as we suffered through strange physical symptoms and thoughts. We were not crazy. We were grief-stricken. Enormously helpful reference book, without getting into too personal stories at this time of shock.

5 out of 5 stars Help for those who are grieving.......2007-05-07

I bought this book 3 years ago when my mom died suddenly. It was such a big help to me to get through the stages of grief. It explained everything that I was feeling and going through at the time. It was a tremendous comfort to me and had a big healing effect. I have since bought it for a few a my friends who have lost their parents, and they have in turn bought it for others.

Book Description

Most investors spend too much time trying to outguess the market and not enough time thinking about their long-term financial futures. That’s why today’s retirees (and soon-to-be retirees) need strategies, not stock tips. Nationally recognized Certified Financial Planner®, radio talk-show personality, and author Raymond J. Lucia shows you little-known concepts that can fatten your savings and boost your standard of living in retirement.
In an easy-to-understand and often humorous style, Lucia details how ideas such as nontraded real estate investment trusts, 72(t) elections, and equity-indexed annuities can give you, the investor, a leg up on the path to retiring in comfort and safety. Lucia brings his 30 years of experience to bear in revealing how and when to tap your retirement plans, ways to use your home as a source of retirement dollars, and how to lower taxes on appreciated company stock. He’ll also explain how investing in low-income housing tax credits can help you tax-wise even as you assist others.
Filled with hands-on, in-depth insights and practical advice, this book will give you all the tools you need to win at the retirement game.

5 out of 5 stars Helpful book !.......2007-10-01

This is the follow up to buckets of money. I learned a lot and enjoyed the approach. Some sections will be difficult for new investors to understand.....but stick with it, very good info and it is now one of my new reference books to review and share with others. Thanks Ray

3 out of 5 stars Nondirected approach.......2007-09-10

The information given is a little disjointed and a common theme in integrated throughout without proving it.

5 out of 5 stars ready-set-retire.......2007-09-09

Well written. In-depth analysis of bucket two strategies including annuities and complex trust/insurance alternatives. Recommend reading "Buckets of Money"- author's first book- prior to reading this book.

2 out of 5 stars Good Book, but...........2007-07-09

Ray pretty much has a one size fits all philosophy. He is simply trying to get his name out there to promote his firm, which is not always known for doing what is best. He hosts a Radio show as well. If you are going to trust a radio guy, then make it Moe Ansari of Marketwrap.

5 out of 5 stars Ready Set Retire.......2007-06-27

It was 5 star item for me as I have saved and have < 10 years to retirement. It is easy to read and understand. It is a practical and conservative plan for a secure finacial retirement. You will want other books to cover other aspects of retirement but for a investment plan it is the best I have read.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Very useful material.......2007-09-15

Extremely useful set of forms and ideas for use in the restaurant industry. It is skewed towards full service restaurants; but still has lots of useful stuff to apply to QSR. Do not expect to find a treatise on training, though. The CD ROM helps to take advantage of the material because it has the full text on pdf format and several of the sections in MS-Word format.

5 out of 5 stars Easily tailored forms and a must for any food service operation.......2007-03-16

Douglas Robert Brown's excellent reference tool is worth every penny and should be in every food service operator's reference library. I have recommended his book for my tea students for the last five years and am pleased to endorse the revised media. From the small tearoom owner to the chain restaurant, Mr. Brown's resource is a valuable tool. Carnelian Rose Tea - Tea Business School - Jennifer Petersen

5 out of 5 stars Comprehensive book with great tips.......2007-05-06

Even though we recently had a Realtor walk through the house and make suggestions on minor improvements, I bought this book in case there were some things she didn't mention. The book is easy to read and nicely organized. It explains how to target your house to the buyers it will likely attract and how to how to look at your house from a buyer's perspective. It also includes a brief section on the selling process.

The book explains that a seller should make minor structural and cosmetic repairs, which any Realtor will tell you. But it has a handy checklist of all parts of the home to go through. It then delves into how to de-clutter and how to "stage" the house for selling. It also includes a checklist of things to do before anyone sees the house. As someone who has recently looked at several houses on the market to buy, I can attest there really is an emotional hook that some of this staging provides. These truly are inexpensive or free things (such as putting a bowl of fruit out, playing soothing music, etc.) that can subliminally attract a buyer. The suggestions are tailored to people with all budgets for fixing up before selling. It does not suggest major upgrades but suggests things like repairing broken bathroom tile as opposed to retiling the entire bathroom. Some of these things are no-brainers, but it was helpful reinforcement from what the Realtor said.

There is a section on how to market the home and explains estimated costs. It also explains what happens when the house is in escrow and what needs to be done in a short timeline. It explains how to keep the buyers motivated and calm while still getting what the seller needs out of the deal.

One of the best things about this book is that it repeatedly encourages the seller to put things into perspective. Yes, the idea is to sell the house as quickly as possible and make the most profit, but this book shows the pitfalls about haggling over $100 and how it can make prospective buyers walk away from a deal.

This book doesn't contain any miracle advice and some of the advice is obvious. However, it's an easy read and an inexpensive book that will probably end up helping sellers make more money at selling time. I would recommend it for anyone who wants to understand the real estate process and maximize profit without spending an inordinate amount of time or money.

Here is Ready Set Sold! in one sentence: Make your house look like a model home before you put it on the market. That covers chapters 6 through 12, and is heavily emphasized in all of the other chapters as well.

Of course, making your house look like a model home probably means spending thousands. I know it's going to for me, even for my modest place. Corbett's mantra is that the more you do to make your house a model home, the more money you'll get when you sell it. The amount that you put into fixing the place up, with painting, new furniture if necessary, and a zillion other details large and small, will more than be made up for by the eventual selling price that you can command.

Hmmm...but is this really true? I don't know. I'm in California and everyone I talk to, including realtors, tell me that just about the ONLY thing that will command a higher selling price is a room addition (impossible for my house). Everything else is just wasted money. That doesn't mean you shouldn't clean up clutter and make sure things look nice and spiffy, but spending thousands of dollars on new furniture, cabinetry, and so on is unnecessary.

I'm not sure I buy into the gung-ho "It will cost more up front, but it'll all pay off in the end!" mantra that this book feeds you constantly. Welcome to hear any comments from people (especially in CA) that have actually followed this book to the letter and ended up with verifiable results.

5 out of 5 stars One-Stop Selling.......2007-03-07

This is the ONLY book you'll need to sell a home sucessfully. Period. Corbett's blend of humor and personal stories make for a fun read, and he's got an enormous repertoire of ideas that will help you do exactly what the book promises: sell for the most money!

5 out of 5 stars Not just for teachers.......2007-09-17

Julia Thompson enlightens all teachers as well as other professionals in an easy-to-read informative look at what makes for a successful careers. The first half of the book details in short sentences and checklists tools for all jobs, i.e. coping with stress, dress, and overall professionalism. The second half delves into the classroom with insight on how to prepare and also what to expect. All teachers, whether beginners or seasoned pros will find this book extremely helpful without the heaviness of most educational tomes. A must buy !

5 out of 5 stars Teacher.......2007-09-15

Fantastic book for first time teachers. It provides great insight and feedback as to how to get started and particularly how to maintain control of the classroom. One book that didn't miss anything pertaining to kids education, a book that every first time or any teacher should have in their library.

2 out of 5 stars Fluff heavy, content light.......2007-09-13

As a first year teacher I am looking for books that offer concrete advice and practical techniques to help kids learn. This book offered little of either of those, instead giving long lists of one-sentence platitudes and self-surveys with no relevance to the classroom. While this book may offer some insights for the aspiring teacher, you can find most of what's in here in other teacher prep books or just by asking other teachers. For techniques that are detailed and applicable (if a bit old fashioned), check out Fred Jones' Tools for Teaching.

5 out of 5 stars Wow! Buy this book before school begins!.......2007-08-19

I could only wish I had owned a copy of this book when I began teaching thirty one years ago. Thompson handles every aspect of the teaching life with clarity, with humor, and with clear and direct suggestions. Her approach is directed enough that even a beginner can follow her guidelines, yet she offers even the most seasoned veteran new things to consider. Bravo!

5 out of 5 stars Hooray!!!!!!!.......2007-08-14

I work with new teachers throughout the year and this book is exactly what they need. The tips in the reader friendly book can help the first year teacher be prepared on the first day. I highly recommend this book for school divisions or for any teacher you know who is about to start their first year!

I have the book on cassette tapes and I listen to the tapes A LOT! I would recommend reading or listening to this book several times. It has the potential to be life-changing...really!

2 out of 5 stars Mmm... Déjà vu (but his theory is cool).......2007-08-11

This book seems like a repetition of the firs one (Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity) which was very interesting and it helped me a lot. If you want to learn his theory about edit and organize todo list, you better buy that one.

3 out of 5 stars Pretty good.......2007-06-16

This book was not bad. I almost gave it 4 stars, but there are some other great books out there. I have already read Allen's 'Getting Things Done', so some of the material was rehash for me. Overall, I think the book does what it sets out to do, and it does contain some useful tips.

5 out of 5 stars Read This Book.......2007-06-08

I have not read Mr. Allen's "Getting Things Done," but I'd like to read everything he's written now. I've read many time management books...and I've read many philosophy books. This is excellent in both spheres. The approach to time management is so much deeper than "List To-Do's and prioritize A-B-C"; it led me to think very deeply about time and perception, and what we do with our minds moment by moment. I love his concept of "psychic RAM" - and the idea that the more clogged it is, the less effective we are. This actually echoes Julia Cameron's practice of the "Morning Pages" in "The Artist's Way," and Brenda Euland's idea that writing everything down, EVERYTHING, produces a clear, flowing stream of thought. When Mr. Allen talks about writing everything down, he is talking about much more than a to-do list. This is not the same old time management guru stuff.

His style, too, is appealing. None of that bright, chirpy tone of many self-help books, and none of the "weightiness" of Steven Covey. You hear a real person talking.

Finally, there are the sidebar quotes, which are extremely wide-ranging and well-chosen.

2 out of 5 stars If you've read GTD, you can probably skip "Ready for Anything".......2007-03-14

Key points:

1. One should read Allen's "Getting Things Done" (GTD) before reading "Ready for Anything" (RFA).

2. If you've read GTD, you can probably skip RFA. It reinforces some core GTD principles, often in a mind-numbingly repetitive fashion (which can be a good teaching style), but also tries to fill in some of "The Vision Thing" content absent in GTD. Unfortunately, Covey is better than Allen in addressing "The Vision Thing." Together, GTD plus Covey's "7 Habits" and "First Things First" (FTF) make an interesting collection.

3. RFA suffers from the same design and layout issues I found with GTD: the "inspirational quotations" in the margins destroy the reading flow as they push into the space occupied by the main text. The quotes distract the reader from the main text due to their intrusion into such and a lack of white space. IMO, there are too many inspirational quotes. Allen should have simply started each chapter with one relevant quote, ala Covey's "7 Habits..." I've noticed that some of the inspirational quotes are recycled from GTD and are sometimes better than the associated essay in RFA. To see how to place quotes or references in the margins of a book's pages, Allen should review any of Edward Tufte's books, such as "Beautiful Evidence."

4. There are obvious parallels throughout RFA to ideas in Covey's "7 Habits" and "First Things First." However, there's no mention of Covey in the book (and he's only cited once in GTD via an inspirational quote). Both Covey and Allen have interesting things to teach, but it seems Allen eschews any reference to Covey despite the obvious parallels to anyone who has read both authors. In some cases, it seems Allen is taking pot-shots at Covey ideas, such as his reference to the "quadrant matrix" on page 22 of the paperback edition of RFA, an obvious reference to Covey's Urgent/Important matrix in FTF.

5. RFA makes no attempt to indicate when the included essays were originally published in Allen's newsletter. It would be interesting to know when the original essay was published. I'm sure they've been edited and updated for the book, but some connection to their stated original publication dates might be helpful in understanding where Allen was in his personal journey at the time he wrote the essay.

6. The "By the way..." items at the end of each RFA chapter may be valuable for readers who've not yet asked themselves some of the deeper questions or who are struggling with their GTD implementation.

7. IMO, the GTD Workflow chart, in a revised form in RFA, still needs work. Perhaps they should not try to fit it on one page: use a two-page spread or, even better, a fold-out that one can also tear out. The chart would benefit from the help of someone who knows how to draw flowcharts.

8. The paper in the paperback edition of RFA is of a cheap, inferior quality compared to that used in the paperback edition of GTD. To me, it feels like cheap newsprint.

9. RFA lacks an index. A book like this, without an index, is most unfortunate, indicating perhaps a rush job to capitalize on GTD interest by recycling old essays. Recycling content for additional profit is a good idea, but any book like this should include an index.

Book Description

Uncertain where to start, how to coordinate endless double feedings, or how to control the whirlwind? Don't worry -- Elizabeth Lyons and her "multiples" sorority will get you through. For real-world strategies on coordinating endless double feedings, getting the babies on a schedule (preferably the same one), and appearing to have it (and them) under control while out and about, Ready or Not...Here We Come! is the hilarious, tell-it-like-it-is resource no parent of twins should be without.

In her first humor-packed guide to raising twins, Elizabeth Lyons highlights the experiences and strategies of a group of friends who met in a multiples birthing class, and survived their pregnancies and first year with twins together.

Lyons provides the all-important feeling of camaraderie that will keep expectant and new parents of twins smiling and optimistic, and remind them through it all how blessed they are (even when they feel as though they haven't slept in weeks). Ready or Not...Here We Come! combines strategies that Lyons has gleaned from friends, doctors, nurses, and even perfect strangers to form one concise guide that will undeniably prepare those expecting twins as well as new parents of twins to complete that all-important first year.

Topics include:
- Preparing the Lair: Mandatory Gear for Babies and Mom
- Getting Organized: The Key to Success
- Getting Those Babies on a Schedule -- Preferably the Same One!
- Out and About with Twins: Methods of Appearing As Though You've Got It (and Them) Under Control.

"Ready or Not...Here We Come! is the advice you need in the short, funny format your sleep-deprived mind can absorb. Elizabeth Lyons tells it like it is in a laugh-out-loud look at the uncertainty, craziness, and absolute of your first year with twins. An absolute must-have for every mother who wished there were two of her to keep up with the two of them." - Lisa Earle McLeod, author of Forget Perfect

"Elizabeth Lyons' humorous yet realistic perspective provides new parents of twins with a great starting point from which to embark on that all-important first year." - Dr. Bob Covert, Leading Chicagoland Neonatologist

"Elizabeth Lyons tells it like it really is. From helping you survive back-to-back feedings, living with the stereophonic crying, and coping with a double round of diaper rash, she tells you what to do, what to buy, and what to ignore. My twins are now teenagers, and as a woman who felt like she was the only one coping with double Mommying, I would have sold my soul for practical, supportive advice like this. There is a light at the end of the twins tunnel, and Ready or Not will help you find it. Where was Elizabeth Lyons when my twins were little?" - Kristy Lucariello, President of Performance in Practice and mother of teenage twins

"Finally…a humor-filled, solution-packed, tell-it-like-it-is guide to the first year with twins!" - Betty Jean Young, BSN

Look for Elizabeth's second book, Ready or Not...There We Go! this summer.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Good Plane read.......2007-05-29

I think this book is great; I enjoyed all of the anecdotes about the multiple society. Very good read although not very technically informative.

5 out of 5 stars A cute, informative resource .......2007-04-11

I've read several books on life with twins, and they've all been at least a little helpful and funny. But this is the first I've read where the author already had a toddler before the twins came, and so it was nice to get her perspective and understand what that reality will be like for me. I like that the author really did have some good ideas and based on diverse experiences (she did breastfeed, and then switched to formula, so she understands pros/cons and strategies of both), and she has her circle of moms-of-multiples friends whose experience she draws on and shares as well.

One thing I noticed missing from the book was reference to or strategies for handling life with babies while they're stuck for a time in the NICU. I was looking forward to understanding how we might manage NICU visits with a preschooler at home.

I realize that there is no magic answer on how to deal with life with twins, but in my opinion, this book does indeed do a good job. If you're looking for another similar book to read, I'd also recommend Twinspiration by Cheryl Lage, especially if these are your first babies and you don't have other children at home. Also, for general multiples-pregnancy info, I highly suggest buying When You're Expecting Twins, Triplets, or Quads by Barbara Luke.

4 out of 5 stars Loved it!.......2007-03-21

This is a good book that I would recommend to anyone who is expecting twins or more. The author definately has a since of humor. This book gives you some good advise. It is also light hearted and fun to read at the same time. There were definately some laugh out loud moments while reading this book.

1 out of 5 stars Marriage venting not advice.......2007-02-04

The author seems to spend the more time complaining about what her husband doesn't do then giving real advice. I was very disappointed it the book.

4 out of 5 stars more for entertainment than for advice.......2006-12-15

As others have said, I read this while I was pregnant and it didn't mean much to me -- then after the babies were born, I found myself scouring it for anything that would help me cope. I found that it contained mostly comic relief, rather than practical advice, but that's useful too. One of my few memories from the foggy "fourth trimester" is of reading parts of the book out loud to my parents, laughing at how completely she hit the nail on the head. I agree that she gives breastfeeding very short shrift, so if you are already BF or determined to do so, don't follow her advice -- get a good book like "Mothering Multiples" and a good lactation consultant. Contrary to a previous reviewer's claim, she does, however, tell you how to go to the supermarket, though I still recommend waiting till DH gets home and then going by yourself (or napping on the couch while he goes!).
