Can you spy "a tortoise, a hare, a tea bag, a key/ a clock, and a flag on a house in a tree"? It's not easy--but readers of all ages will have a whole lot of fun trying. With more than a dozen I Spy picture books under their belts, including I Spy Gold Challenger, the award-winning photographer/riddler team of Walter Wick and Jean Marzollo are masters of their art form. And in Treasure Hunt, they've outdone themselves. Readers search for subtly hidden objects on every beautifully composed and photographed page. At first glance the setting seems like any other quaint seaside town. Take a second look and discover that it's in fact a very realistic model, with giant pencil erasers filling truck beds and gargantuan pennies nestled among the boulders of an island. The result is stunning, a surrealistic adventure.
Children will love to pursue the mystery of the pirate's hidden treasure, narrowing their search with every delightfully cluttered page. Looking for an additional challenge? Try the extra-credit riddles. For the inspired reader, Wick and Marzollo also include pages on how to create I Spy riddles and pictures. (Ages 3 to 8) --Emilie Coulter

I spy another great book.......2007-03-11
Wonderful book. I loved it. My students loved using them too.
Great Book Great scenery.......2007-03-08
My husband and 7 kids love these books. They sharpen the mind. We love all I spy except for Spooky Night. Treasure Hunt has great pictures and scenery. You will not be disappointed!!
Great book, Wrong Age Range.......2007-02-10
I think the I Spy Series is Wonderful and Treasure Hunt has great pictures. My only negative is that the age range listed in Amazon is wrong, and even the 4-8 age range usually listed for this book should be a little higher, like 6-8. I have to admit that I have a hard time finding the pictures, so my 4 year old gets frustrated with this one.
I think the Picture Riddles is a great one for 4 year olds to start with.
I Spy A Winner!.......2006-12-13
The I Spy Treasure Hunt book is one of the many 'I Spy' books enjoyed by our family. We have the 'I Spy Extreme Challenger', 'I Spy School Days', 'I Spy Christmas' and 'I Spy Super Challenger' to name just a few of our books. They will entertain no matter what your age. Our children and now our grandchildren have pulled these books out many times. They are like magnets and will draw in whoever is around to your side to help find the hidden I Spy items. Here's a hint. If, no - when, you have trouble finding any of the objects turn the book upside down and that just might help. ~ The Boss
Lot's of fun.......2006-06-30
I bought this book for my kids ages six and seven. They both love it. This book is a nice mix of hard to find and easier to find items. These I spy books also made nice birthday gifts for some other children we know.

Loved this series.......2007-10-10
I grew up reading books like the Hardy Boys, Tom Swift, The Three Investigators and the Danny Dunn series. I loved these stories and now my children read these old favorites in addition to many of the new offerings. It was my love for these stories that shaped my own children's book.John Fastramp and the Dakota 3000 Challenge
My boys love this!.......2007-07-12
This set of books has caused quite a stir in our home! My boys (8 and 6) love to hear us read to them so much that bedtime has often been delayed because of "just one more chapter!"
Classic young peoples novels.......2007-07-06
For a wonder, I never read a Hardy boys novel when I was growing up, probably because they weren't on the shelves at the librarywhere I got most of my books. Of course I saw the Disney versions and the tv series, but I never read one of the books until I was sixty one years old. Then while shopping online I found this boxed set and decided to buy it and read what the books were like.
The first thing I found was that these are not the original versions of the stories written in the late twenties and early thirties. The giveaway was when some of the villains stole a case of transister radios, which were not even invented til long after the forties. So this is the series rewritten in the sixties.
That said, the stories were ingenious and well written. Also, I liked the group of friends that were always ready to help the heroes with their adventures. Television lost out on a good thing when they did not mention these guys and girls on the shows.
After reading through the books, I passed them on to some of my friends, who are eagerly reading them, too.
These books are a good read and a fine memento of a time when it was considered possible for a pair of teenagers to take on a gang of criminals and not get killed out of hands.
Best book every.......2007-05-26
Lost books from my childhood. The writing is very clever and witty, with that old 1950's charm.
Loved it.......2007-05-17
My [...]son loved these books. I've always had a hard time finding books that keep him interested all the way through. He picked up the first book and read it cover to cover.
Book Description
Like no other book, In Search of the Hidden Treasure captures the centuries-old traditions of Sufism. Its pages allow the contemporary reader to become immersed in the words, sights, and wisdom of this powerful mystical wing of Islam. Here is the world of whirling dervishes; of mysterious alleyways where chanting is heard all day long; and of a young poet named Rumi, who writes impassioned love songs to God.
Constructed as a conference of Sufis who gather in a great hall to answer the questions of a seeker, In Search of the Hidden Treasure is illustrated with more than a hundred previously unpublished works of Islamic art, and portraits of the Sufi Pirs, or enlightened teachers, drawn by the author's wife, Mary Inayat Khan.
The book also includes an extensive glossary of Sufi terms that pertain to states of consciousness, as well as well-documented biographies of all the Sufi Pirs, members of a long lineage that dates back to the prophet Muhammad.

A masterpiece.......2006-11-15
This book is a creative dialogue between Sufi masters throughout the ages, taking place in the sacred atmosphere of the divine unity of the spiritual hierarchy. As other reviewers have noted, it is beautifully illustrated, and the feeling running through it is one of both crystalline intelligence and unbounded joy.
You cannot help but catch the spark by reading these pages. I recommend it to all whose hearts long for the indescribable bliss of union with the One Being.
The one qualm I have with the book is the first sentence of the dust jacket's inner flap, which reads: "Sufism is the mystical dimension of Islam, and represents both a vision and a spiritual path that exists on the periphery of the main religion, yet at the same time embodies its deepest truth." This statement is strikingly at odds with the teachings of Hazrat Inayat Khan, Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan's father and teacher, who described Sufism as the essence of all religions, yet belonging to none. Khan argues Sufism is to Islam as green is to Ireland -- the color has become associated with the country, yet it would be silly to suggest that there was no green before there was Ireland.
What masterpiece could exist that does not contain one exquisite flaw?
Conference Of Souls.......2006-09-01
Imagine yourself, sitting amidst the Octagon Room, and therein, Souls of Great Thinkers, Theosophists & Lovers glorify the Beauty of Love, the Epitome of Life itself.
An excellent book for all lovers of the Light! & a primer for seekers of Truth
Challenging, Profound and Electric.......2006-06-23
This is an electric book. You can literally feel the currents flow out of the atmosphere Pir Vilayat book invokes.
The reader is placed in a timeless setting (ie. the imaginal plane) with the great Islamic and Sufi figures throughout time.
While sitting in the presence of these great sages, timeless, practical truths, strange utterances and sweet devotion all strike the reader's heart as if a bell is sounded.
I suggest reading this book as a form of contemplation. Any student of spirituality will find benefit in its pages.
A Priceless Pearl.......2003-04-15
This book is charged-- a direct transmission of heart and soul, light and life from Pir Vilayat Khan. Pir Vilayat is the son of the great Sufi Master Hazrat Inayat Khan and pioneer of liberated spirituality within the US and Europe since the 1960's offers his magnum opus. The work, beautifully illustrated with inspired drawings by Mary Inayat Khan along many sacred paintings and images of the East, is a vibrant dialogue among ancient and modern Sufi masters, inquirers and students. It filled my being and will fill yours with the antidote to the delusion of our modern existence and of conventionally defined models of Reality.

A Practical, Down to Earth Commentary on Proverbs.......2005-07-14
Gloria Copeland has presented us with a well-researched, highly readable study on Proverbs. If you don't mind her views on healing and prosperity, you'll find this book a very good read. The cover and binding also makes for an attractive coffee table book, too.
The Complete Guide to the Book of Proverbs is more in-depth........1999-12-30
Gloria Copeland does a nice job exploring the themes from Proverbs and how they apply to your life in a practical way. One drawback is that she uses the King James Version as her primary starting point which is the hardest to understand and least accurate. However, in her commentary she does draw on the NIV and Amplified to make her points. For a more in-depth and scholarly study of Proverbs read THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO THE BOOK OF PROVERVBS by Cody Jones. The comments are interesting and very readable, and they put things into a historical setting. Jones picks out various characters from the Bible who illustrate the points of Solomon's wise and witty observations. He includes many historical photos to give the reader a sense of the culture of the time and includes 6 translations in parallel to aid understanding.
The Wisdom of God in an easy-to-read and understand format!.......1999-04-07
This book truly is a treasure! The format is easy to read -- and the insight into the Wisdom of God that is given can be truly life-changing! As the Copeland's say, "One Word from God can change your life forever!"
A must read for all who would like to grow in Jesus Christ.......1999-03-24
A wealth of Godly information that is applicable to a Christian's everyday life, taken from the book of Proverbs. Thank God for Gloria and her spiritual insight.
A life changing book, that transforms your life - daily........1999-01-30
This book has an abundance of wisdom in it. Gloria Copeland writes about Proverbs like no other author I've read. Her insights into God's word will transform your life daily. And the format of the book is really easy to read. It only takes a few minutes a day.

A Great Complement to the Science of Getting Rich.......2007-08-18
If you ever wondered where the info came from the Science of Getting Rich & The Secret it comes from the scriptures. Leslie does a great job in this book, in a very practical way, in describing how to apply this science of prosperity.
I highly recommend you study this and you will manifest prosperity!
Excellent ability to explaine at any level........2007-05-15
The author has chosen a very simplified way of explaining the book. It is very easy to comprehend, and so very full of wonderful ideas.
Can't Buy Enough of These!.......2007-01-11
This book explains the 7 Universal Laws that govern prosperity. Leslie Householder does a great job explaining the laws and how you can apply them in your life. Like the law of gravity, these laws work with absolute certainty whether or not you are aware of them. So why not be aware of them and use them to your advantage so you can prosper? My husband and I have ordered several copies of this so we have several loaner copies on hand. Everyone we loan it to loves it, too. I highly recommend reading her book "Jackrabbit Factor" along with this book.
Book Description
Roadside Baseball is a fascinating read as well as a fantastic travel guide and history book all in one. Baseball's rich history is celebrated in Cooperstown, N.Y., but it's only a glimpse of baseball's storied past. Baseball history lives in the city streets of Brooklyn to the country fields of Iowa. It's in these places you'll find birthplaces, shrines, museums, final resting places and out-of-the-way spots where Baseball's history was made or still is preserved. Buckminster Hotel, (Boston, MA), where the "Black Sox" planned their fix of the '19 Series; Original "Little League" field and Museum in Willimsport, PA; Birthplace of Jackie Robinson in Cairo, GA; Fayetteville, NC, where Babe Ruth hit his first professional Home Run; Baxter Springs, KS, where Mickey Mantle was discovered by Yankees Scout Tom Greenwade; Kansas City, MO, birthplace and location of the Negro League Hall of Fame; Wrigley Field, Los Angeles, CA, the first stadium named Wrigley Field, 1925 ¿ 1966; Information and selected photos for over 300 baseball historical sights; Regional, state-by-state layout.

Take Me Out To The Ballgame! Great book..........2006-08-27
I bought this book several mos. ago and it has lived up to its reputation as one of the best baseball books around. Great book to take "on the road" and fills a real niche for the baseball historian/enthusiast. I've actually taken this one on the road and it does the job and does it quite well. Kudos to the author on this one.
America's Pastime - On the Road.......2005-06-02
Nothing is more quintessentially symbolic of America than baseball and road trips, and Chris Epting has brought the two together in this delightfully quirky road guide to all things baseball throughout the land. The book is divided first into sections (East, South, Midwest, West, & Outside the Lines),and further divided into states, listed alphebetically, within each section to make it convienent to use as you travel. And even the most knowledgable and die-hard baseball fan is likely to discover events and places within its covers to surprise and delight them.
While 'Roadside Baseball' can direct you to well known present and former shrines of baseball (Wrigley Field; the Ebbets Field apartments with its cornerstone marker commemorating the Dodger's old home field on that site), it is the many lesser known and often quirky places it discovers that really gives it its charm. Epting has discovered roadside markers, plaques, statues, memorials, and museums all over the country dedicated to baseball players, stadiums, and history. Some are charmingly kitchy, like the bed and breakfast in New Hampshire once owned by Babe Ruth's daughter, in which room #2 where the Babe often stayed has been maintained with all of its original furnishings. Others tie baseball history to the history of America, like the marker in Postville, Illinois marking the location of a field where Abe Lincoln played townball, an early form of baseball. And some mark arcane baseball history, like DeVault Memorial Stadium in Bristol, Virginia, where minor leagure Ron Necciai (a pitcher once deemed by Branch Rickey to be of the same quality as Dizzy Dean) once threw a 27 strikeout game, before disappearing into obscurity.
It was seeing many of the references that I know from my own experience that proved to me how comprehensive this book truly is. As a Pittsburgher, I was pleased to see not only the outfield wall and preserved homeplate of Forbes Field listed, but the roadside plaque in nearby Homestead that commemorates the great Negro League team the Homestead Grays. I also found here the tiny church yard in rural Ohio where Cy Young lies buried directly behind the grave of my great grandfather, who was his neighbor; a surprise find I had made years earlier while working on my genealogy. Very little seems to have escaped Mr. Epting when he compiled this wonderful little book.
If you love baseball, road trips, and Americana at its best, you can't afford to miss this outstanding guide to all three.

Visiting the shrines of Baseball.......2004-07-11
For many, baseball is almost akin to a religion in America. Many undertake the pilgrimage to all the Major League ballparks, but Epting has created the ultimate cultural tour of history that goes far beyond these parks. Sure, anyone can go to see where Babe Ruth hit his final home run, but would we know where to go to see where he hit his first (or as Epting makes the distinction, where he hit his first professional home run, and where he hit his first professional home run in a regular season game)? No event escapes Epting for potential inclusion in this journey into our heritage. Each site is identified with an address, often a photo and an explanation of why it is important to note. But also, Epting's book can serve as a warning to us. So many of the important sites from the early years of baseball have been lost; they have become the victims of "progress." He takes the time to try and show us where historic fields are, but too often they are fully tossed aside, with an apartment building, or a parking lot now occupying the spaces where the pioneers played and set our early records. For each ballpark that has been lovingly restored or kept in good condition, there are two that have become lost to the wrecking ball. This is one of the ways that Epting's book should open up our eyes to prevent further loss of our sports history in the name of progress. Someone like Epting helps make sure that we never forget, even if others have. Put this in your glove box, and find a bit of our national pastime history across the country.
uncovering hidden treasures.......2003-06-22
I found this book very enjoyable. It is 288 pages of baseball monuments from all over the United States. Each historic baseball artifact and locale is given a brief and concise description. It was interesting to see which region was famous for who or for what. The book covers alot of ground and has introduced me to many new topics within baseball, and led me in search of other books covering the various players and places that i have read about here. I really enjoyed it.
THE ULTIMATE BASEBALL BOOK.......2003-05-23
I cannot remember enjoying a baseball book this much. It focuses on hundreds of historic baseball landmarks, and the breadth of places is fascinating. There are all of the classic former ballpark sites like the Polo Grounds and Ebbets Field, complete with a description and photos of what is there now. Dozens of baseball museums I never knew existed, historically placed markers identifying famous homeruns by Babe Ruth, the home of Connie Mack, sacred baseball burial grounds and much more. I cannot believe how much I learned from this book (and I have studied the game for a long time). Some fine detective work here--like where Lou Gehrig really played his last game, the birthsite of Jackie Robinson, and where Babe Ruth pitched a notable yet obscure game against Walter Johnson in California. Lots of historic Negro League sites, too--for we baseball fans who love the road and who love history, this is our ultimate guide and I've never seen anything like it.
Book Description
Stephen O'Meara's new and exciting observing guide spotlights an original selection of 109 deep-sky objects that will appeal to sky-watchers worldwide. His 'hidden treasures' include a wonderful assortment of galaxies, open clusters, planetary nebulae and more, all of which have been carefully chosen based on their popularity and ease of observing. None of these objects are included in either the Messier or the Caldwell catalogs, and all are visible in a 4-inch telescope under dark skies. Stunning photographs and beautiful drawings accompany detailed visual descriptions of the objects, which include their rich histories and astrophysical significance. The author's original finder charts are designed to help observers get to their targets fast and efficiently.
Customer Reviews:
Great Book!.......2007-09-03
O'Meara has put together another great book. Here he takes us off the beaten path somewhat in search of deep sky treasure that many observers may neglect. In addition to the NGC and IC catalogues, he also ventures into lesser known catalogues such as Melotte, Trumpler, and Collinder as well as one of his own objects. As with previous volumes in the Deep Sky Companions series, each object is given a photo, drawing, and a finder chart as well as complete historical information. In addition to observations made with his trusty Tele Vue Genesis 4" refractor, observations from other observers using larger scopes are also included. All done in a writing style that is one of the most enjoyable today. Highly recommended for the deep sky observer!
After Messier, this is the one catalog you need!.......2007-08-07
Amateur astronomers surely agree that Messier and Caldwell catalogs missed many wonderful objects in the sky (north and south). Why not just ask a REAL deepsky observer to build a list of the missing gems? Well, that is exactly what this book offers. The 109 objects listed were observed by the author in a moderately small refractor telescope under dark skies. I have only observed a sample of objects in the entire list but do believe that the remainder are worth a try. Every object is introduced with such passion and in such an enthusiastic way that you really feel like going outside and give it a try.
5 stars!
Deep Sky treasures.......2007-07-23
An excellent volume/ If there is any problwem, it is that it is too extensive. It thus serves ,more as a reference than an "easy reading'.

A Pleasure to Read and Consider.......2007-04-03
Violet's new book is both theoretical and practical in scope. Reading this book stimulated my own creative thinking about helping children integrate their feelings and experiences. Violet writes about working with precision (commonly achieving tangible results), while treating both the child and therapist as wonderfully rich, whole organisms. I reproduced a chapter for my staff therapists under publisher permission, introducing staff I treasure to an therapist/author I respect. I am a Gestalt-oriented psychologist, and Violet pioneered the translation of that therapy into treatment for children. This is a joyful therapy intended for those who want to enhance their capacity to engage in powerful therapeutic contact with a child. Thanks Violet.

Interesting But Unnecessary.......2006-11-23
This book on hidden Biblical codes is interesting, but somewhat hard to follow.
If one is not a linguist who specializes in Greek and Hebrew and studies Scriptural texts in the original languages, I would say that this book is rather irrelevant. Although he may be totally accurate, only a Biblical languages scholar would ever be able to confirm it.
In addition to that, I don't see the necessity for his approach. The plain language of the Bible has withstood the test of time.
Like a stick of dynamite. .......2006-06-30
So small and compact, yet there was more punch in this book than many other Christian books that I have read over the years. Excellent.
