Christmas Galore!.......2000-03-26
If you like to quilt and enjoy christmas, this book will bring you years of pleasure! There are so many wonderful projects from small ornaments and notecards, stockings to full-sized quilts. All in the Christmas theme with traditional christmas colors. There are several levels of difficulty, all quilting and sewing techniques are expertly described. Especially appealing I found the "dad's Christmas gift" items which are made from recycled ties :) Seldomly do we crafters find nice things for the men, here are some! Truly a great book!

Super Bear's Paw.......2007-01-04
Excellent book, another great for Eleanor...
Large patterns and super instructions.
Great quick projects.......2007-01-03
Eleanor Burns is one of my favorite quilt authors. Not only is everything explained well but good illustrations are used to guide one if a problem does arise.
I have just finished doing a quick project from this book. It is called Cold Hands, Warm Heart. Now, if I should need a special gift for someone I have it. I am getting ready to work on another project from this book ASAP.

If you like country..................2006-10-05
then this is a book for you. The book runs 207 pages not including the many templates. It contains instructions for tree decorations, stockings, tablerunners, placemats, pillows, 7 wallhangings, 3 quilts, 4 projects for children and even a christmas jacket for Fido! Twenty-eight projects in all. However, because I don't do country, there is only one project I would consider doing. I ordered this book through the mail and had I seen it at a bookstore I wouldn't have gotten it. I gave it 3 stars because I'm sure that many of you country quilters would find it appealing.
Note: I've decided to give it 4 stars!
Excellent Book.......2006-08-15
I always enjoy using the patterns by Eleanor Burns. They are very explicit and easy to follow, especially for beginners. The directions and pictures really make it easy for quilters.

Debbie Mumm Delivers Again.......2004-05-14
Any quilt book by Debbie Mumm can be counted upon to deliver certain things: lots of charming designs organized by theme so you can mix and match, excellent instructions, and inspiring photos. This book also gives you numerous small projects you can make for gifts, some really quick decorating ideas, and a nice section on organizing your holiday preparations.
In addition to the specifically Christmas designs with Santas, angels, nutcrackers, and such, there are projects with hearts, tools, fish, apples, and animals which could be made at any time of year. The general directions are excellent. While there are no projects for full-sized quilts, the book has enough information and enough attractive quilt blocks that you could easily come up with one yourself. Contrariwise, if you have a book of quilt blocks and need directions for putting them to use in gift and household items, this book will also fill that need.
Quilters need this book for their Christmas shelf, and people who might like to dabble in quilting can use it to get started.
Easy to follow, concise directions, great for all levels.......1998-01-19
This was my first quilting experience Bible! I was able to follow all instructions and guidlines with ease. I now have a new life long hobby. This book is FULL of superb hints, tips and creative suggestions. The beginner or Master quilter will enjoy every page!

A Slice of Christmas.......2005-09-15
One of the best and most helpful applique quilt books I've ever seen.A real must have
Beautiful designs; lovely ideas.......2003-08-06
This is a beautiful book about appliqueing and their designs for Christmas. They cover everything from quilts, wall hangings to table runners, stockings and Christmas tree rounds. You can mix and match the ideas here and make everything you need for Christmas.
The nice parts are that the directions are complete for both hand piecing and machine (called fusible in the book) sewing & that most of the designs require small amounts (1/2 yard; 5/8 yard there) of fabric so if you have leftovers you can find places to use them here. Also nice is the ability to copy the designs for your own use. A nice present in itself.
The downside? You should be near a copier and have sharp scissors.
All in all, a great way to get into the Christmas spirit. It's a real joy to view and look at. I wish some of the designs were shown bigger in colour but it's a minor quibble.
Book Description
From Santa to mittens to snowman to classic traditional designs, you will receive 14 little holiday quilts from across the U.S. and as far away as the Netherlands for this delightful book. With these quick and easy patterns you'll want to spread the Christmas cheer to all of your family members and friends. 'Tis the season to join in the fun.

I really enjoyed getting the book before Christmas that way I can get my materials to start a project.
Thank you,

Charming.......2006-12-21
This 32 page book contains instructions for 13 little quilts. I plan on making one quilt for myself, another as gifts for family members and one of mittens for small nieces and nephews. Instructions are clearly written with patterns for applique but most are either foundation pieced or pieced without the need of foundations. You can't go wrong buying this book, I promise.

I was very pleased to receive this book. The condition of this book was excellant. I was also very impressed at how fast I received the book. I had it in less than two weeks.
The projects in this book have very easy to follow instructions and I'm sure I will have hours of fun making the different projects.
This is a light-hearted book of simple quilting projects........1999-09-17
Some quilting books are a disappointment and don't deliver the content you expect from the cover, but "Two-Hour Quilted Christmas Projects" is terrific. The items are easy and refreshing. The patterns and directions are complete. This book delivers more than I expected. Although the hardcover price was hard to accept I think I will get my money's worth because I will actually make several of the projects in the book.
The best stitchery book ever..........1998-11-27

A reader from Minnesota.......2002-10-03
As the title of the book implies - this is a book about "finishing touches" and decorating for Christmas not a quilt book. In addition to Lynette's gifts as a quilt and fabric designer, she is also an accomplished gardener and decorator. This book reflects her insight and ability to put that all together. I use my copy as a "coffee table" book during the holidays.
I love Thimbleberries, but this one's a Stinker!.......2002-02-10
I am probably one of the world's biggest Thimbleberries/Lynette Jensen fans - I have made over 10 of her quilts and have several more in the works. I have five of her books and have enjoyed them all with one big exception - this one! It's just a bad rehash of photos from the "Christmas Cottage" book. No projects, no instructions, NOTHING! To make matters worse, all of the photos are taken in extreme close-up so there is no perspective on anything. Do youself a favor: spend your hard-earned money on one of the other worthwhile Thimbleberries books.

Excellent Stocking Pattern.......2001-08-15
If you're looking for an easy, generous-sized stocking pattern, this book is perfect for you. It is a very easy courthouse step pattern. Great tree skirt pattern, too. I'm not a big applique person, but if you like them, there are many good applique patterns and projects. Great book. Good directions. Excellent patterns!

The Accidental Quilter recommends "start now for next year".......2002-12-30
I bought this book two weeks before Christmas because I thought
it would be relaxing to look at the color photos of all the beautiful projects that I would never have time to make. I spent several hours relaxing with this book and read many of the directions for holiday projects that someone less exhausted than myself could have made one or two of before the holidays.
There was even a section on food projects such as Sand-Painting Brownies and Hot Chocolate Mix that looked delicious as well as speedy to do. And I would have done it if I had not found a new all time low in holiday cooking. (I ordered cookie dough from an Italian restuarant while I ate chicken marsala, and the nice chef delivered it to my husband at work and all I had to do was tie on an apron and slice and bake.)
Anyway, I fell so in love with many of the projects in this book that if I only made one a month for this coming year--I'd have all my gifts done for next year. My favorites are: Partridge Pincushion.(To die for-with real feathers--and I know where there is a taxidermy shop over the state line.),birdhouse welcome home banner, wreath pillow, French hen tea cosy, flying geese placemats,
French hen address book, calling bird Christmas cards, six geese a laying quilt, goose wall quilt, seven swans a swimming vest, Christmas cactus and currants pillow (this is stunning and if I ever make it, no one else is getting it.),lord of the manor apron and chef's hat( something a man in the kitchen would really like to get.), wreath door banner (this is really nice--not at all cutesy--but three wreaths from pieced triangles with red bows and bells and the squares in the middle are naturals for custom embroidery--maybe your dog or cat's face?) twelfth hour quilt, and much, much more including menus and recipes for Christmas dinner and Christmas brunch.
This is my kind of Christmas book. Lovely original projects that would be fine to make any year. Lots of inspiration here to start
early and surprise lucky friends and family with stunning gifts.

leaves out Jesus the Reason for the season.......2007-02-05
This is a poem book about things that happen in the winter. Each poem is pair with a quilt that was made by the author. The poems are about the quilt that is pictured such as snow themes and holidays that are celebrated in winter time.
All sorts of holidays are featured such as Kwanza and Hanukkah. Christmas was mentioned in one poem but Jesus was not.
This would be great for kids and grandmothers who enjoy quilting to enjoy together.
Poetry, in words and cloth........2006-02-01
The poems are lovely, the quilts are spectacular. Yes, the book is great for four and five and ten year olds (I am mother of the latter two ages!) and, pleasing too for 43 and 45 year olds, as well! (the parents of said five and ten year olds) Poetry comes in many forms: letters and words, yes, but also in these fabulous textiles. What a wonderful antidote to a cold, dark grey winter. Check this out; you can't possibly be disappointed, esp. if you notice the figure who looks like he is out of E.J. Keats "The Snowy Day".
beautiful read aloud book.......2005-11-15
i bought this book to read to my daughter who is four. it instantly became her favorite bedtime book. i love the illustrations and the poems -- we savor each page, taking it slowly. The page with the faralitos is incredible. I've never quilted, but this book makes my fingers itch!
Amazing Winter Lights!.......2005-10-27
This book is absolutely SPECTACULAR! It's hard to believe the immaculate art and intricacies that went into the making of these breathtaking quilts. Coupled with the well-crafted and delightful poetry, this is a great book for kids and adults alike. No wonder it's received so many starred reviews.
