Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Calculations are only as good as your numbers.......2007-08-03
Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.
Pants on fire?.......2007-07-19
Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.
Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

Beautiful silk embroidery!.......1999-09-28
This book is FULL of color photos of Ms. Stevens' lovely embroidery with plenty of sketches to help in making your own. A short summary of techniques and tools are discussed at the end of the book. This is a monumental achievement, and not her only one! A wonderful and inspirational way to spend many afternoons. The embroidery is almost all done in silk, with some wool, and lots of suggestions for doing your own work.
Beautiful pictures of exquisite silk thread embroidery........1998-03-07
The book contains beautiful representations of flowers, birds, butterflies done in delicate silk thread stitches. The book was published in England and printed in Germany.

Book Description
This 75th anniversary celebration of Roly Poly Circus Quilt exemplifies the timeless appeal of quilt patterns by Ruby Short McKim, a Depression Era quilt designer, entrepreneur, and author of the 1931 classic, One Hundred and One Patchwork Patterns which is reprinted today. McKim's endless list of classic quilt patterns continue to charm modern quilters, and these 1923 Roly Poly Circus animals enjoy the spotlight once again, including an episode on HGTV's Simply Quilts (#435).
Whimsical animals roll across quilt blocks designed for embroidery (such as redwork), fusible appliqu, or crayon craft. All ages enjoy making and receiving Roly Poly quilts and other projects decorated with curving creatures of circus fame which include a tiger, elephant, and kangaroo, too.
Twenty circular animal friends comfortably fit 8" or 9" squares, similar to the popular Penny Squares. Full-sized and miniature patterns are included in this easy-to-use spiral-bound paperback along with instructions for a vintage child's quilt that is framed with distinctive prairie points.
Quilt historian Jill Sutton Filo offers her first tribute to Ruby Short McKim. The 93 page Roly Poly Circus Quilt book's historic chapters unveil a biographic overview of McKim, the internationally known quilt designer, as well as outlines the pattern's publication history, and offers a glimpse of redwork and embroidery quilt history. Combined with playful patterns, the author's extensive and thorough research blends with the McKim family contributions to present a refreshing and informative portrait of a powerful influence on today's quilt world, Ruby Short McKim.
Roly Poly Circus Quilt, a premier self-publishing adventure, details the life and work of America's powerhouse of quilt designs, Ruby Short McKim, in a user-friendly presentation. As a quilter herself, the author/publisher focused on the book's format, a prime concern because many pattern books are cumbersome and awkward to handle. Roly Poly Circus Quilt is an accommodating spiral-bound 7"x 8 " paperback which is easy to use when tracing designs and lays flat when reading instructions, a perfect instructional companion. If the patterns are traced on a light table, no confusing lines are printed on the reverse of the page, just a miniature design of a different animal neatly tucked into the corner of the page. Also, each pattern sports center lines for accuracy in placement and tracing. Because of its considerate format and rare content, beginner and seasoned quilters alike will enjoy this enlightening comfortable presentation.
Customer Reviews:
Ruby Short McKim's Roly Poly Circus Quilt.......2007-04-07
Simple patterns from the 1920's revived for today's quilter. Projects can be completed by children and adults together. A good family project.
Misleading Title.......2003-08-18
Overall, I really enjoyed this book! Unfortunately, I bought it because I thought the designs were copies of Ruby McKim's. I was very surprised to read that the author had "re-drafted" the designs and made "slight changes" to them (page 47). So be warned! If you are a quilter interested in making an exact reproduction of Ruby McKim's quilt, you are going to have to research the designs yourself.
excellent book, full of patterns and ideas, well written.......1999-06-23
If you are interested in redwork, or embroidery, this book is well recommended. It is full of history of Ruby Short McKim, and includes the evolution of the patterns on the 75th anniversary of the publishing of this book. It has a nice ring binder so that you can open it up fully without breaking the binding. Lots of ideas.
Easy to read and follow, plus informative and fun!.......1999-05-24
Ms. Filo's book is informative and fun to read. Anyone who is "into" quilting knows of the creator, Ruby Short McKim. This book is geared to the novice as well as the expert. Her adaptations of the patterns make them applicable in a variety of ways besides the traditional baby quilt. The story of RSM is fascinating reading and leaves one wanting more information about this early pioneer in quilt syndication. Ms. Filo appears to be following the path of success from her new-found mentor. I hope Ms. Filo will continue to adapt the patterns of RSM, both the easy ones that can be used with children and the more difficult ones that stimulate the more experienced quilter. This is a rich American legacy that should be shared with this generation.
Customer Reviews:
Wide variety of detailed and appealing animals.......2002-01-26
This oversized book presents many beautiful charted designs of animals set in their habitats. I particularly liked the animal alphabet and animal numerals, as well as the idea of joining several squares featuring animals such as otters and trout and quail into a carpet (though I would use it with her ivy border as a wall hanging - no way is it going on the floor!).
The only odd thing was the decision to scatter photographic collage pictures throughout the book. I didn't find them particularly appealing and wasn't sure why they were included except that Elizabeth had fun making them and wanted them in the book.
For those who want to do needlework animals in a classic, realistic style rather than a cutesy or country style, this book includes many appealing projects.
Book Description
A masterclass in how to create stunning animal portraits with embroidery silks, from internationally acclaimed textile artist Helen M Stevens.
In this fourth title in her Masterclass Embroidery series, Helen M Stevens reveals more of the secrets of achieving astonishingly lifelike effects using pure silk thread. In five fascinating chapters Helen explores a variety of animals that are linked in different ways --whether by their ferocity as predators, their closeness to man as familiar countryside dwellers, by their nocturnal habits, or as among the world's weirder creatures like the platypus.
Each chapter leads towards a master class project with color templates. Easy to follow color photographs illustrate the working stages of the design to ensure that perfect results are achieved.

Advanced embroidery.......2006-03-30
This book is for those that understand stitchery with ease. The designs are really good to use with anything, even making bookmarks. This book is for the advanced cross stitcher, or embroiderer.
Mixed Reviews.......2002-10-02
I like the designs, but the total black and white with tiny blocks makes the patterns hard to read. The designs are good, but lacking in color, so if you feel like playing around with them a bit, this is a great book - especially considering the price. Otherwise, I'd probably recommend staying away from it and going with a more expensive, though much more readable and more colorful alternative.
Great book; great price.......2001-09-15
WOW! For the price this book is absolutely wonderful. All the patterns are in black & white, but it's still just as useful as most of the $...-$... celtic cross-stitch books.
A worth while purchase.......2001-09-03
This book has many different designs available. The designs can be a bit small, and a bit difficult to read. I highly recommend taking these charts and enlarging them before starting work on them. There are a great variety in designs, some will take a while to complete, while others can be completed in much less time.
Very good, but not great...........2000-07-02
If you're a true fan of Celtic art, you'll probably enjoy these patterns, but be warned; these will not appeal to everyone. Some of the patterns are outstanding in their design; others are just dull. While the interesting patterns out-number the boring ones, the color choices are bland (unless you really LOVE earth tones) and some of the charts are made up of too few stitches to represent the original designs. Still, if these things don't bother you, I strongly recommend this title.
Book Description
Margaret Evans shows how to blend and work with pastels, using their soft velvety tones and subtle changes of colour to reflect the beauty of flowers in the landscape, in gardens and in still life studies. Both drawing and painting techniques can be applied, creating stunning effects with light, shade, varied textures and detail.

Flowers in Pastel.......2007-05-13
This is a lovely book, but sadly too many photos without 'step by step' instructions that can replicate them. The few instructions that were given were very helpful. I would just like to get an instruction book that allows you to replicate a number of photos however.

I was extremely disappointed with this book. I do not know enough negative words to describe it!!!
DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK!!!!!.......2005-03-21
THIS IS THE MOST RIDICULOUS INSTRUCTION BOOK EVER!looking at the blurb, you would think the book is full of demos on coloring flowers, but it is untrue!it has only a mere 3 demos and is a pathetically short book.don't waste your money on it!!!!!

Following the pattern in this book yields a very professional-looking teddy bear. The fabric you choose will really change the bear's appearance. My only concern with the book is the title, specifically the words "quick and easy." It normally takes me a day to put together a stuffed animal, but this bear took a long time, especially since it used joints that have to be installed from the inside. The joints weren't easy to use (I had to create my own, because the ones I bought wouldn't fit together).
If you have never sewn a bear together before, or want to make it easier, it helps to (1) use textured felt instead of faux fur (although it doesn't stretch/give, it's thinner and easier to sew with); (2) sew the limbs on instead of jointing them (in my experience, doll joints are impossible to put on!). If it's your first bear, these tips might help, and then you can proceed to the more advanced job of using thick faux fur and joints.
Have fun!
A Basic Teddy Bear "How To" For Beginners.......2000-05-26
For the price you get a beginner level bare bones pattern, a beginner level explanation of bear making terms and full sized patterns for a bear, shirt, pants, and skirt to make a boy or girl bear. Also included is an optional bib top to put on either the pants or skirt for an added variation. The patterns lack any imaginative qualities that an experienced bear maker would like, but for a beginner making their first bear, it is basic, simple, and has easy to follow directions.
