Best resource on the subject.......2007-08-16
In order to help my parents with their trust, I had checked out about a dozen books on the subject from the library. I found Denis Clifford's to be the easiest to follow and easiest to read on a fairly complex subject. I found the book (and his "Plan Your Estate" book) so informative I bought a set for myself.
This book offers lots of "real life" examples of different types of financial scenarios and the best options for setting up a trust that will protect the assets from excessive legal fees and/or estate taxes. It covers almost everything you need to know to either write your own trust or carefully check the details of your trust if prepared by a lawyer.
The CD included provides you with the language you need to write your own by filling in the blanks, as well as the step-by-step procedure to cover all the bases to be certain the trust meets all the legal & tax requirements for trusts.
This book is also apparently updated each year, as the tax and estate laws are frequently being revised. I highly recommend this book, and also highly recommend as a companion book that covers other aspects of financial planning, wills, etc., Dennis Clifford's Plan Your Estate.
I was so impressed I also bought copies of both books for my parents and my sister so we could all get our finances in order.
Another Great Book From NOLO .......2007-05-08
Nolo Press continues the tradition of providing step by step guidance through complex legal processes. Step by step demystification of the process.
Even if you are going to use an attorney this is a good read and you will save many times the cost of the book in having answered your own questions and by receiving a good introduction to the subject.
Highly recommended
Attorney Approved.......2006-03-11
I am an attorney (shyreslaw.com) and I highly recommend this book for those who could use a simple trust and want to avoid probate. Even if you decide to hire an attorney, this book is invaluable because it offers great insight into trusts and avoiding the probate system.
Attorney Denis Clifford wrote this great do-it-yourself book which provides everyone a way to create their own simple living trust. A CD-ROM is also provided so you can easily input your information and print it out.
For a more complete estate plan, the book introduces the importance of pourover wills in case the trust fails to encompass all the property. You may want to peruse Mr. Clifford's Simple Will Book as well (another recommended buy).
Recommend highly..........2006-02-21
"Make Your Own Living Trust" was so easy to follow I recommend it to all the baby boomers. The disc attached to the back made it easy to print the required forms.
Great buy!.......2004-05-18
This book was a god-send! I was skeptical at first because I have no legal backround and I thought that making my own living trust would be complicated at best, impossible at worst. But following a recommendation of a friend I decided to give do-it-yourself law a shot. Boy am I happy I did! I saved a fortune in legal fees and was able to get the job done just as well as if I'd had a lawyer coaching me every step of the way.
Make Your Own Living Trust was easy to use and very accessible. It even has all of the forms you'll need on an enclosed CD-ROM. Thanks to this book I was able to transfer assets such as stocks, real estate and jewelry to my trust, appoint someone to manage the property that I'm leaving my children, and keep control over it while I live. So don't be afraid to do it yourself, you'll save money and get your trust done the way you want it!

Book was in great conditon, but I purchased the book for a project and by the time it came... we were done with the project.
Lots of ideas in this one.......2007-08-10
Without a question Claudine gives great advice and instruction in this book. Lots of ideas for scrapbooking, collage and just crafty folks. I would definitely recommend her other book "Beyond the Unexpected" as well. She also has DVDs that are awesome for those of us who learn by watching. She's a hoot!
Incredibly Informative Guide.......2007-07-12
Claudine's information is so inspiring, I wanted to stop reading and try each technique immediately. The instructions are easy to follow, the techniques are real creative and the personality she blends in with her writing style made me feel like I was one of her best friends having a coffee break right there in her studio!
Very useful and inspiring!.......2007-06-04
This book is a great source for techniques. Instructions were clearly explained, with photos showing how to do everything. I would definitely buy another book by this author.

Open the mummy-shaped box.... Smell the must of the tomb.... Reveal the secrets within.... Included among these secrets are a 24-page booklet all about real-life mummies and the people who study them, a 10-inch plastic-model body, and four carved heads of gods to protect the Canopic jars where you'll store the plastic organs found inside the body--both lungs in a single jar, please! Find the hidden drawer containing the gauze wrappings, headdress, scarabs, and a cardboard cat you can mummify to accompany your Pharaoh in the afterlife. Wrap your mummy from head to toe, place lucky amulets in the gauze, and bury it in the back yard (soak the gauze in brine first for a more realistic mummy experience). Don't forget to seal the tomb with your "Curse of the Mummy" sticker ... and to warn your parents, so when they rent the expensive tiller to dig up the garden, they don't break the blades on your ultracool mummy.
This kit introduces curious kids to the mummies of many different cultures, such as those of ancient Egypt and South America, and to all the types of mummies, including shrunken heads, bog mummies, and ice mummies. Slightly creepy good fun.

To address some of the questions that the reader might have:
* This course is very easy to digest but will take about 4-5 hours of your time.
* It covers a great deal of many different subjects related to concession sales.
* Previous experience in this field is not necessary.
* The Dvd's give several good menu suggestions next to full instructions on preparing a variety of barbecue meals.
* Mr. Robertson shows a lot of experience and enthusiasm in his field.
* There is an Index of links as well as recipes towards the end of the book.
The author did an excellent job at describing ways how to get started in your own concession vending business. I have been operating a ball game concessions stand for over 8 years, next to my day job as a teacher and I have become quite experienced in this field. I know that there is a lot of money to be made with food sales. At sports events, the food and drinks are an essential part of the whole fun, no matter how pricey they are. The only drawbacks are the ever increasing concession fees to set up at the games. This is yet another reason, why owning a business as an independent operator makes a lot of sense.
After reviewing this course, I was able to learn a great deal more about concession sales. If you are thinking about starting out in this field, I can highly recommend it!
fun and informative!.......2007-02-16
I originally bought this for my husband and ended up watching the DVD's with him. They are really packed with a lot of information and with valuable tips from a real professional.
Now BBQ became our first choice of foods to sell. The recipes in the film are truly wonderful and turned out well the first time we tried them. We also will focus on Tex-Mex foods that are very popular in our area.
The book gave us lots of good ideas that we will use in our own business. The author is right: cooking for fun is one thing- cooking for money is another! It was good to watch someone else do it first. Probably saved me from making lots of mistakes!
Overall, I am extremely happy with this purchase and I am glad I found it!
An excellent purchase.......2006-12-13
This was by far the best purchase I made on amazon this year. I enjoyed watching the DVD's that covered far more than I expected.
I have always wanted to have my own restaurant, but never have been able to get it together. The trailer food business is more my thing, as I can leave it parked in my backyard when I don't want to sell. I had trouble finding information on the subject of mobile food vending and I wish I would have seen this course earlier. It has taught me a lot about this business. The film showed interesting background info and a lot of food being prepared for resale. The ribs looked delicious and I now always cook my ribs this way. Watching the procedure is like being there and much better than just reading about it...
The book is easy to follow and covers pretty much everything I needed to know. I am not much of a chef, but people were all impressed by the food I prepared the way it is described in the book. I fed over 300 people in one day by myself at our block party and made good money doing it. This guide was very helpful to me in my rural area. It also made me feel like I can actually put a business like this together in my spare time.

She took the men's underwear class and now I'll never run out of briefs. She also did the lacy tanga panty video for herself. Thank you Sew Fast Sew Easy! So I got her this book to move onto. I hit a home run with it. She now watches project runway with a new appreciation.

I love this book. I'm totally stoked on the projects I've created with it. I've learned a lot from this book unlike another boring sewing book my mom gave me, "Sewing for dummies". This is a rad beginner book as well as alterations and fittings. Any level of sewing should be able to get something from it. I also think the Sew Fast Sew Easy book is a great book to have first.

It's not cool to promote your book at another authors expense.
You be the judge. Check out the "interesting" reviews of the Ty Cohen book the previous reviewer is promoting.
But to be promoting that book here is inapropriate at best.

Everyone wants at some point in life to be independent and the master of his own destiny and if your destiny is the music industry then you're in for a big surprise. The music industry is a secluded and closed world, hard to get in and even harder to keep from getting thrown out. Many small record companies have tried and failed at hitting it of with quality products just because they didn't know many things about this world. The book in question here is a very good Bible for those who don't know all about the music industry and want to refine their tactics or learn some new ones.
Great book.......2006-03-04
Very good and clear book the title states it all. Its a perfect guide for anyone who is trying to become a music publisher

Modern ideas for quilts.......2007-05-13
If you want to make interesting and simple quilts for a modern home then this is the book for you. Good instructions and interesting use of all kinds of fabric, not just cotton. I especially liked the quilt using peices of old embroidered tablecloths and mats that we all have inherited from our mothers.
I Found My Quilt Design Here.......2007-02-07
When I started quilting, my interest was in bold designs as found in Amish quilts which progressed to two-color quilts, a few "art" hangings and some clothing. Things stalled as I focused on my changing interior design style.
As I have restyled my home in a more contemporary and less fussy style, I have wanted more contemporary quilt designs, particularly for my beds. I purchased this book in the hope that modern designs would be there. I found a design that I plan to execute for a master bedroom, although I won't be using the materials or color called for in the book.
I very much like the contemporary designs in this book and I am now excited again about quilting.
Fantastic!.......2007-01-05
This book (along with Denyse Schmidt's) inspired me to learn how to quilt. These unique and beautiful quilts can be made according to the book or as ideas for your own projects. As a beginner, I find that its difficult to work with large pieces of fabric. Many of these quilts can be scaled down to make gorgeous wall-hangings.
Amazing.......2006-01-29
This book is absolutely amazing I was looking for something like this for years. It has enough information if you are a beginner, as well as very advanced techniques which could be used anywhere not just in making quilts. It gives you so much more ideas for contemporary quilts if you don't want your house looking country style all over.
I never rated any book before, but this book really shocked me, in a good way, I wanted to email the editor (Karen Hemingway) to thank her, but I couldn't find her email anywhere. Well I guess this is the next best thing.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

A good source.......2007-10-01
I have just finished my internal medicine rotation and found this book quite useful to study from. It is easy to find relevant material and it had everything but the very most recent research, which you won't get in any book anyway. Overall, I use it and plan on using it as a reference when needing to go over internal medicine again. P.S. I also find Harrisons necessary, and the washington manual of course.
great book!! .......2007-09-25
this book is great as a complement to other "heavier" sources, but it really gets you a feel of the topic you choose and its super easy to read! i aced step 2 thanks to this book, first aid and a lot of quetions!(usmleworld and nms 2007).
you wont regret it!!!
MUST HAVE FOR IM ROTATION.......2007-05-16
First I have to say the Blueprints Medicine book is probably the best review book I've ever read. It does not replace the Washington Manual or UPTODATE, but its very helpful to have with you. While it's a bit larger than the UCV or BRS style books, I feel it is worth it. With each chapter averaging 6-15 pages it makes for a very flexible review schedule. If a student were to read it while on a medicine for 4-8 weeks it makes for a great nightly read. At the same time using it as a board review book is another option. Single chapters are easily digested with the help of numerous key point boxes and easy to read charts scattered throughout the chapters. Honestly, I found this book very enjoyable to read. The question section at the end of book nicely completes the package. While Cecil's is a nice reference book to keep on the shelf this book is a must to keep in your backpack and read on those 20 minute breaks on rotations.
Avoid! .......2006-10-05
You can read my comparative amazon review of 3 titles - 'Blueprints Medicine', 'First Aid for the Medicine Clerkship', and 'Step-Up to Medicine' - at 'Step-Up to Medicine', ISBN:0781747872
Pretty good. Use along with other books depending on purpose........2006-05-21
This is a fairly decent book to read during medical school medicine rotations. It is comprehensive but I found that it did not include enough detail on many topics. You will without a doubt need some other sources during your rotation. "Washington Manual" and Ferri's "Practical Guide to The Care of the Medical Patient" are both excellent. I found Ferri's book to be more helpful in terms of the organization, readability, and information. I was not at LSU, but came across the "LSU Notes." If you can find the "LSU Notes" in internal medicine, they are an excellent resource as well. The medicine "Pre-Test" book was helpful when studying for the shelf exam, although not all medical schools use those.
For USMLE Step 2, I used the blueprints books in conjunction with the "First Aid" book and the "Prescription for the Boards" book.

I know Paul Kirk won alot of competitions but for the most part I think these recipes are horrible.
5star BBQ Book!.......2007-06-08
This is probably the best bbq book I have ever bought. It covers making a sauce, marinate and mop in a simple and easy way to understand!
Excelent Discussion of flavor Contruction.......2006-11-30
This book is focused on helping you make the most out of what Paul knows. It talks about the barbeque flavor profile and gives the basic construction. Then it takes you through making your own rubs, sauces, etc. As a cook that loves to experiment, I totally dig this book! I can experiment until I'm blue in the face. I've used several of his base flavors and created my own rubs and mops with amazing results. If you are just looking for recipes you'll only use about half of this book. If you like to experiment, you'll never put it down!
Learn from a master.......2004-07-20
You can buy lots of books on how to cook barbeque, but very few from accomplished masters such as Paul Kirk. Only two things surpass his ego in this book: His willingness to share some great recipes and insights, and his recipes themselves.
Pretty much every sauce, marinade, and relish I tried from this book turned out great. It's no surprise to me that Paul Kirk is so accomplished with several bold and unique recipes. Don't miss the orange-chile marinade, which he used to win a barbeque contest in Ireland.
I should mention that the book has a strong Kansas City-style slant to the barbeque, although Paul Kirk does make an effort to include different regional styles.
In addition to the recipes, Kirk provides "Master Classes" on barbeque sauces, rubs, and marinades. I took this opportunity to develop my special secret rub with secret spices reflecting my partly Greek heritage. Following Kirk's "Master Class" on rubs, I concocted a rub that I hoped would create gold in my Weber kettle. Have I developed a killer rub to take the barbeque contest circuit by storm? Well, probably not, but it was fun giving it a whirl, and if I say so myself, the results were pretty good.
But if you ask me, most of the fun of barbequing is coming up with secret recipes, and putting your own stamp on things, and Paul Kirk has got me going.
Excellent and indispensable!.......2004-05-22
This great little book covers every aspect of preparation for barbeque. If you think barbeque is nothing more than tossing a few burgers on the grill, this book will open up for you a myriad of possibilities. Even experienced cooks can find plenty of good suggestions from which they can develop their own rubs, sauces & mops. I have the most fun putting together my own recipes based on his suggestions. If you aren't interested in devoting that much energy to perfecting your slow-cooking, stick with the recipes, which display an impressive variety. It doesn't hurt that this book is extremely affordable. I cannot recommend it enough.
