Book Description

Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Yes, we can all agree that mainstream history is nearly 100% BS due to politics, economics, ego, problems with dating techniques, and various conspiracies. Agreed. But, I've been researching the distinct possibility that human history (in terms of civilizations) are much more ancient than we've been told, so coming across this book was very interesting to me. I wondered how Fomenko could be wrong (if at all) because he is very persuasive in his presentations. Then it dawned on me. If at previous times in prehistory, due to the various catastrophies that are well documented (comets, asteroids, planetary disruptions, plasma discharge, pole reversals, etc) the Earth was in a different position in relation to the sun, different tilt on its axis, different orbit, different rotation (in terms of velocity and DIRECTION), and the continents were in different positions, then would this not cause the ancients to see the sky (constellations) differently? In other words, is Fomenko making erronious assumptions about the physics of the Earth in pre-history, which then corrupt his data with regards to dating the relevant astrology? The last event to seriously disrupt our planet occured roughly 3500 years ago, according to other good researchers, so is it possible Fomenko has been confused by this? The vastly different physics of our planet in the not so distant past may explain this confusion, which is not to say the "mainstream" version of history is correct; on the contrary. I am not an expert in these fields, but wanted to see if this idea could spark discussion.

Will people ever read before spamming? Yes, Jesuits could not rewrite world history alone, they had help. Anyway, Dr Prof Acad A.Fomenko does not point to jesuits as the driving force of world wide history manipulation in published volumes 1,2,3;, actually he barely mentions the poor devils. Check it with 'Search inside' feature, please. China is rarely mentioned either, in fact, Dr Fomenko is completely eurocentric. Right, his theory contradicts all mainstream schools of history, because in their actual state they are all built on blatantly erroneus chronology. You don't need a mysterious cabal (conspiracy) to falsify history, the falsification is its modus operandi. It is inherent to history(ians) to falsify (distort) events, as it is inherent to humans to boast as it is inherent to power (authority) to legimize itself by referrring to glorious past made to its own order. Dr Prof Fomenko and team have identified scores of instances of such manipulation in Russian, European, etc.. history, and delivered valid statistical proof thereof. His own 'reconstruction' is completely another story. Forget c14 as a valid method of dating. W.Libby has initially discovered a brilliant method of INDEPENDENT dating. Too bad, c14 method has become a joke after a forced marrige with dendrochronology with consensual chronological scale inbuilt. Radiocarbon method can't stand blind tests, but is so very productive as a rubberstamp.

5 out of 5 stars Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09

There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.

For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.

5 out of 5 stars Very Interesting.......2007-03-07

It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.

4 out of 5 stars History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10

Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.

I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.

Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.

Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.

I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.

This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.

An amusing story about a hen that lays eggs with different patterns on them.

      Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars The Easter Egg Farm.......2006-04-25

The Easter Egg Farm, by Mary Jane Auch, has been one of my favorite ever since I was little. I love the story of a misfit chicken with a talent for laying colorful eggs. In the begining of the story, Pauline, the main character, is being ridiculed by the other hens becuase of the colorful eggs that she lays. This part of the story upset me when i was younger because Pauline was ashamed of her wonderful talent. Pauline continues to lay and hide her colorful eggs until Mrs. Pennywort finds one. Unlike the hens, Mrs Pennywort thinks that the eggs are beautiful. Mrs. Pennywort's appreciation for Pauline's eggs always cheers me up. Pauline has a wonderful talent and deserves some appreciation for it. Mrs. Pennywort begins to exhibit Pauline's eggs on the window sills of the house. The colorful eggs catch the attention of an old woman who is helping with an easter egg hunt. The woman converses with Mrs. Pennywort and they agree that the woman can use some of the eggs for the easter egg hunt. The eggs are to be collected from Mrs. Pennywort later in the week. Because of her deadline, Pauline begins to lay eggs constantly. Mrs. Pennywort also takes Pauline on feild trips to enspire her egg designs. I particularly like this part of the book because of the idea of a chicken at an art museum. The illustrations in this part of the book are also very colorful and add to the story. At the end of the week, Mrs. Pennywort begins to collect the eggs from around the house to give to the old woman, but when she gets to the sunny side of the house, she finds that all the eggs are hatching. Mrs. Pennywort goes into a tizzy tryin to glue the eggs back together while all the baby chicks run around the house. This illustrations in this part of the book are particularly funny. In the end, the old woman gets some eggs for the easter egg hunt and Pauline gets to keep her baby chicks.

I would reccomend this stroy to children between the age of four and seven. I believe this book needs such a wide age range because it is detailed, yet easy to understand. The acutal story is too detailed for young children to read but the illustrations tell the story by themselves. Because of this, older children will appreciate the words in the story and younger children will appreciate the the illustrations. This book is enjoyable for children of all ages.

5 out of 5 stars A major hit with our 3-year old daughter........2000-05-04

Our daughter has taken this book out of her pre-school library 5 weeks in a row. We all love the wonderful, lively illustrations. Most of all, we love the message -- different can be absolutely beautiful! With Mrs. Pennywort's encouragement, the especially talented Pauline can produce any egg she wants. A great story on all levels.

It has become a tradition in my home to read this book before painting our Easter eggs. The story and illustrations are so comical, colorful and exciting that we can't wait to turn the page and see what happens next. Then we pick our favorite egg. What fun! You won't be disappointed.

I teach school, and I love to read this book to my students every year at Easter time. It is a great book to encourage creativity. I also use it to have the students sequence different egg patterns. My students love the story as much as I do.

A beautiful book! I checked this out from my library, and liked it so much, I bought it here on Amazon. It has so many great ideas for decorating eggs, ranging from the simple, to fairly difficult. My kids and I plan on making some this weekend. And even if we get busy and NEVER make a project from this book, it is so pretty you can leave it on your coffee table during the spring/Easter season. If you like "pretty" books, buy this one today!

Using sometimes as little as two materials, Terry Taylor has prepared a collection of amazing eggs. Don't be fooled by the simplicity of the eggs on the cover; other projects inside include eggs beautiful and elegant enough to grace even the fussiest Easter basket or most formal Easter dinner table. With more than 70 different designs and ideas, there's truly something for everyone in this book. Get it as soon as you can!

When Katy discovers her grandmother's old hand-painted Easter eggs in the attic, she inspires the renewal of a special tradition: the Easter egg tree! This quaint Caldecott Medal-winning story, written half a century ago, will charm today's readers every bit as much as it did their parents and grandparents. Influenced by Pennsylvania Dutch folk art and tradition, Katherine Milhous creates a lovely tale that will leave readers of all ages impatient to break out paint, dye, and brushes to trim their own Easter egg tree. Muted hues of blue, brown, green, orange, and yellow are a welcome respite from the in-your-face vibrancy of contemporary illustrations, and create their own gentle radiance. Age-old designs such as the Bright and Morning Star, the Horn-blowing Rooster, the Cooing Dove, and the Pomegranate decorate the borders and eggs, providing a sense of deep-rooted history and tradition. A beautiful sleeper of a classic. (Ages 5 and older) --Emilie Coulter

      Book Description

One Easter morning, Katy and Carl went on an egg hunt through Grandmom's house. Katy couldn't find anything until she went up to the attic. And there she discovered a very special set of eggs...

Grandmom had painted them when she was a little girl. And now, she hung them from the branches of a tiny tree -- an Egg Tree! So began a very special Easter tradition.

This Caldecott Medal-winning story of a Pennsylvania Dutch Easter will surely inspire children to make Egg Trees of their very own.

5 out of 5 stars Kindergarten Egg Tree.......2007-03-28

We use this book as a basis each year for an Egg Tree in Kindergarten. We read the story, then water color 2 dimensional construction paper eggs, and I paint the trunk on a bulletin board. The result is so cool--it is wonderfully colorful. I also have some Czech decorated real eggs to show them. This is a great book. For those worried about a religious setting for Easter (I'm not), this story has no mention of Easter as a religious holiday. It is an old story, but sometimes the old stories are the best. I wish the pictures were a little more colorful. I have never seen a publication of this book with more than 3 colors. Maybe it's because I'm a grandma, but I often wish that the older books would be republished. The kids like colors and gravitate toward those books that have newer graphics. But, some of the authors from the 40's, 50's and 60's are wonderful books, such as Margaret Wise Brown, and this one.

4 out of 5 stars The egg and I.......2004-03-14

Easter egg trees just haven't caught on to the same extent their Christmas tree brethren have. In today's high tech, fast-paced, Internet age it's a calming thing to stop a think a little bit about Easter eggs, and the trees on which they hang. "The Egg Tree" won its Caldecott medal in 1951 and became the selection of choice of the Institute of Graphic Arts. Here, author Katherine Milhous has taken the lively colors and sweeping designs of the Pennsylvania Dutch and applied them to a tale of Easter discoveries and mild fame.

Siblings Katy and Carl are spending their Easter seasons with their Grandmom and cousins. This being their first Easter with such relatives, they are woefully unprepared for the annual Easter Egg hunt. Katy is disappointed when she cannot find any eggs, but discovers a cache of beautifully hand-painted eggs tucked away in the attic. This leads to Grandmom teaching all the kiddies how to paint their own eggs, culminating in an egg tree that displays their work (and garners widespread fame as well).

Children unfamiliar with the Pennsylvania Dutch lifestyle will undoubtedly wonder why the characters in this tale look Amish. Some simple explanations (always assuming the parents themselves understand the distinction) may be in order. After that, expect to be fielding requests for egg painting as well. Helpful instructions detailing how one goes about egg painting are included on the back of the book jacket. Certainly the book and the instruction make egg blowing seem to be the simplest thing in the world. Just don't be surprised if you have a mighty difficult time blowing egg yolks out of tiny tiny holes.

On the whole, the book is strong. The colors are a little more muted than those of books today. And apart from Katy's initial fears that she would not find a single egg, there's not much in the way of dramatic tension. But that's all right. This book's a class act through and through. It may seem a bit dated, it's true. Just the same, it's nice to see a book looking at one of the less lauded holidays once in a while.

      4 out of 5 stars A lovely Easter story.......2000-09-21

The Egg Tree is a great story about a little girl's Easter morning egg-hunting experience. Though she is unsuccessful, she does uncover a wonderful Easter suprise. The little girl, and the reader, is introduced to the Pennsylvania Dutch technique of painting eggs, when she finds a cache of her grandmother's beautifully decorated eggs. The examples of folk art throughout the book are wonderful, and easily accessible for children. This book will prompt your family to begin their own egg decorating tradition.

5 out of 5 stars Eggceptional book for kids.......2006-01-27

Ok, so I am giving this 5 stars mainly because this is a much cherished book from my childhood. I clearly remember my mom reading it to me as a young girl. I sought this book out to read to my kids as well.

Orson and his family are much loved at my house. The illustrations, while done in a now dated palette, are charming. The kids love to examine the eggs and other things the family decorates. It sparks creativity at my house. The kids are always ready to paint or draw after reading this.

All in all, if you can get your hands on a copy, you won't be disappointed. I have my original from childhood and it's still in great shape....looking to add 2 more copies to pass on to my kids.

      4 out of 5 stars A great book!.......2002-07-06

A very enjoyable book for young children and adults. There are wonderful illistrations and a great story line.I highly reccomend this book.

      5 out of 5 stars Orson Abbott.......2000-04-15

Adrienne Adams was one of my twin daughters' favorite book illustrators when they were small. They are now 26 so I was delighted to find this especial favorite of theirs. The Abbotts are rabbits who decorate their house, their car, airplanes and bridges during vacation, but their real business is Easter eggs. Son, Orson, helps with the one hundred dozen they have to do for Easter because he loves to paint and never tires of it.

4 out of 5 stars Enjoyable way to intro art appreciation along with Easter.......1999-03-06

I reviewed this book as part of a preschool curriculum development for an Easter theme. My 2 and 4 year olds are my audience. They have now read this book several times. On the surface, it's a very simple book about a rabbit who paints eggs. Underneath, it's about a rabbit who's too young to "keep to the task" -- until he's fully appreciated for his personal art style. If allowed, it can cause parents to think about allowing our own children to follow their interests, and can give us a way to introduce different art styles: a good precursor to a art museum field trip.

      5 out of 5 stars Still unsurpassed!.......2005-05-09

This was the first book I ever on this exquisite art, and I bought it waaaaaaaaay back when I was a teenager. I now own many books, magazines, and CDs about this art, belong to both the guild and the mailing list, etc. -- but this remains my personal favorite. The eggs shown are gorgeous and widely varied, and the directions are very clear. You can't go wrong with this book; although a fraction of the cost of most books on the subject, it remains without peer.

5 out of 5 stars The Splendid Art of Decorating Eggs is Splendid.......2005-01-10

I found this book to be an excellent source of inspiration and instuction in the art of egg decoratiing. I am a rank beginner and I found this book to be extremely helpful. Ms. Disney explains in detail all phases of decorating. Whether you are interested in doing detailed carving, or simple embleshment you will find this book helpful and informative. I only wish there were more color photos.
