Book Description
Junie B. is a very grown-up little lady. So how come everyone treats her like a baby? It's not fair. But Junie B. knows just how to fix the situation. Her aunt Flo is getting married. What a perfect chance for Junie B. to show everyone how grown-up she is! Too bad she wasn't picked to be the flower girl in the wedding so she could really show off. But surely Junie B. can still find some way to get everyone's attention.
Customer Reviews:
SO cute gift for your Junior Bridesmaid or Older Flowergirl.......2006-12-28
This is for your JBM or FG that is between 8-12. Even though the cover is pretty dorky looking the book is fabulous. It has a lot of really valuable information in it that helps the little lady know what to expect during the months leading up to the wedding and on wedding day. It would only work for relatively traditional weddings though that have showers before, a ceremony with a processional, and a reception with food and dancing. Our favorite parts of the book are when the book is more of a diary format when it asks the girl to write in her ideas and perceptions of both the couple and the wedding process. I gave this book to my niece and in one part she had to draw a picture of her future husband and write about all the qualities that she would like him to have. Her Mom is saving those pages for her own bridal shower in about 15 years. It will be hilarious!! This book is a wonderful keepsake/journal to make your little girl in your wedding feel prepared and very special.
Great information for first time flower girls! .......2006-11-10
My daughter was the flowergirl in her aunt's wedding and she LOVED this book. I got it for her a couple months before the wedding and it gave her a real sense of what she would be doing in the wedding. She is an advanced reader for 6 years old, so she read this on her own and was fascinated with the the book's detailing of different types of weddings and different possible expectations. It did a great job of preparing her, and now she is enjoying the keepsake portion of the book (add photos, list who was in the wedding, etc.). Highly recommended!
Complete means Complete!.......2006-08-02
This book is COMPLETE! I bought this for two of my flowergirls (Age 6 & 7). It's a great guidebook and nice souvenir but it's got a bit of a serious tone - there's a lot of talk about practicing so it may freak some kids out. That said it's comprehensive and certainly gives a child who hasn't been to a wedding before a great idea of what happens.
Packed with information (maybe a little too much)!.......2006-07-05
Our six year old had never been to a wedding before being asked to be a flower girl. (What an overwhelming responsibility to a small child!) There are loads of books out there about flower girls, but few are true "hand books" that give an overview of what takes place at weddings and what exactly a flower girl's role is. This book covers all of the basics and more. We found this book to be particularly helpful in explaining the hows, whens, whys, and whos. We relied on a fictionalized flower girl story to address stage fright, sibling envy, and the magic of weddings. Definitely recommended. The book would make a very nice gift from the bride to her flower girl(s).
Adorable, good book!.......2004-05-07
This book was adorable and helpful. I bought a different book of similar topic and was very disappinted. This was a much better buy and I highly recommend it especially for the young new attendant!

A Year Long Parade of Flowers.......2003-01-10
This beautiful book, so affordable in its paperback edition is the unabridged republication of Flora's Feast: A Masque of Flowers, first published in 1889. It contains 40 color illustrations by the English illustrator and painter Walter Crane (1845-1915). Crane was a leading designer of Art Nouveau textiles and wallpaper and his Art Nouveau stylings are seen in these whimsical and romantic illustrations. Children as well as adults will enjoy this beautiful book which opens with Flora, the Goddess of Flowers waking the flowers from their slumber. "The sullen winter nearly spent, Queen Flora to her garden went, To call the flowers from their long sleep, The year's glad festivals to keep." Attired in Greek-styled drapes, sandals, tunics, and gowns the various flowers, beginning with the earliest crocuses and snowdrops, begin a parade across the pages of this book that proceeds through the seasons from summer through autumn and finally back to winter. Each season's favorite flowers are accompanied by quaint poetic descriptions written by Crane and bear the look of familiar blossoms incorporated into their costumes. We are fortunate indeed to have this rare treat available to us once again. Don't miss it.

Great for toddlers!.......2005-08-02
I borrowed this book from the public library for my 3 year old daughter and after I returned it, she kept asking for the "flower book." The illustrations are beautiful and the concept is really nice.
Wonderful Beautiful Lovely.......2004-02-12
We have a two-year-old daughter who picks this book out every day and every night to read. The illustrations are breathtaking. The story is simple but relevant; we follow every detail as the father and daughter walk the city street and ride the bus. We love to watch the daughter planting the flowers with her father; the mother coming home from school to see her birthday surprise. I have no doubt that this book will be with us for another generation or more (at least in our house). Thank you to the two wonderful artists who created such a special book.
This book is fabulous.......1998-10-17
I am a student teacher in a three year old preschool classroom. We recently planted mums outside our window, and afterwards read this story to the children. They loved the beautiful pictures and the contrast between the city flowerbox and our daycare garden.

my pre-school class found the book to be very exciting and could'nt wait for me to turn the next page.the bright colors of the cover and pages were so liking a good childrens book, that we planted a garden like described in the book.i have had parents ask where can they get this wonderful book for their own child. we really enjoyed it!this book described a family so close and loving, you can't help but smell the flowers and feel the love in that household.

Fun tool for teaching your flower girls about weddings.......1999-08-03
Bought a copy for each of my two flower girls, ages 3 and 4. They love them! One mom has to limit the amount of time her daughter plays with them because it's now her favorite toy. The story is adorable and cleverly written. The two girls love "practicing" to be in the wedding and using the items included in the book.
Every bride should buy this book!.......1999-07-06
This is a wonderful book! The illustrations are endearing and the text, just adorable. The cut-outs and things-to-play-with make this an interactive, engaging book that evey girl who will ever be a bride should get!
