Book Description
There Is No Me Without You is the story of Haregewoin Tefarra, a middle-aged Ethiopian woman of modest means whose home has become a refuge for hundreds of children orphaned by AIDS. It is a story as much about the power of the bond between children and parents as about the epidemic that every year leaves millions of children, mostly healthy themselves, without family. Originally a middle-class woman with a happy family life, Haregewoin fell into a deep depression after the death of her recently married daughter. But then a priest brought her two children, AIDS orphans, with nowhere to go. Unexpectedly, the children thrived, and Haregewoin found herself drawn back into daily life. As word got out, an endless stream of children began to arrive at her door, delivered by dying parents and other relatives who begged for her help, and, pushing against the limits of her home and bank account, she took more and more in. Today, Haregewoin runs a school, a daycare system, and a shelter for sick mothers. Without medication for her charges—some HIV-positive, some uninfected, and some infants trying to fight off the virus, but almost all of whom come to her terrified and malnourished—she forges on, caring for as many as she can handle. Increasingly, she also places them for adoption with families like that of journalist Melissa Fay Greene, who has two children adopted from Ethiopia. In Haregewoin Tefarra’s story, Greene gives us an astonishing portrait of a woman fighting a continent-wide epidemic.

Opening our eyes to global needs.......2007-06-30
Melissa Fay Greene has the gift of story telling. The book beckons the reader to think beyond themselves and consider what contribution they may make to the cause of the orphan/Aids in Africa. Thank you Ms. Greene for inviting us on the journey...for educating us on real life on the other side of the globe...for jolting us out of our comfort and compelling us to action. One would need to have a heart of stone not to be moved by this powerful story!
awesome, informative book.......2007-06-09
I am so thrilled that I spent time reading this book. I loved it. This is a well written, informative book. I enjoyed the writing style as it moved through factual historical perspectives to the story of one women making a difference. Take time to read...you will be happy you did!
Moving, informative, gripping picture of humanity in Ethiopia.......2007-05-29
This is the best book I have read in some time. It is meticulously researched, insightful, and explains difficult technical issues clearly. It is gripping in its description of the plight of AIDS orphans and the incredible poverty of Ethiopia. But it is particularly special in the even-handed description of Haregewoin, not as a saint, thought she has given of herself like one, but as a flawed human (as we are all flawed) who has accomplished incredible good at a time when doing so put herself in great jeopardy in her society. This book is a great accomplishment by an accomplished author. I hope she receives the National Book Award for this one!
inspiring book.......2007-05-27
I loved this book! If you want to learn about Ethiopia, the AIDS crisis there, or if you want to be inspired by a true hero, read this book.
A must-read for the globally minded!.......2007-05-25
Sometimes it is difficult to break out our own local environment to learn more about important events are taking place around the world. Melissa Fay Greene's book, "There Is No Me Without You," allows even the most superficial of us to learn about the AIDS crisis in Africa and begin taking steps to help support a solution to the social problems plaguing that continent. I was familiar with the AIDS crisis in Africa but was horrified to learn about the lack of available pharmaceuticals for treatment of HIV-positive adults and children. It was truly an eye-opener to hear about the gross (for lack of a better word) profits made by drug companies producing these medicines and then the reluctance of those same companies to allow these treatments to be shared with the sick and dying.I was appalled.
I would highly recommend this book. After finishing "There Is No Me Without You," I researched the websites in the back of the book and found it was possible to directly donate to AHOPE. Interested individuals can even sponsor an orphan for as little as $30 a month. I easily spend more than that on books every month.
I was inspired, enlightened, motivated and educated by this book. Thank you Melissa for writing about these wonderful people and sharing their stories with us.

Bad Relationships? GET THIS BOOK!.......2007-10-04
I never understood what made me chose bad relationship after bad relationship. This book makes you take an honest and sometimes funny look at what caused you to make certain life choices. I was going through a current bad relationship and decided to read this book to my then boyfriend :> He and I shared an epiphany... in our current state we were NOT good for each other. (Note: I did not say he was a bad person, just not the "...One For Me!") Also, he said that he was very glad I gave him the book because he realized areas he needed to focus on for personal growth. In addition, I learned my own faults...which we will never completely correct; but, I'll continue trying! You will especially enjoy the section on writing your own advertisement for bad relationships! I cannot tell you enough to add this book to your collection.
If you've ever had a bad relationship..........2007-09-10
This book is a MUST READ for anyone who has ever had a bad relationship, and typically that's everybody who's ever had one. As a practicing psychotherapist, I often recommend that my clients read this book and DO THE EXERCISES. It helps to increase one's awarenss of how "emotional programming" from the past, or what I would call unconscious patterns, plays out in relationships. Although the book is geared towards a heterosexual audience, it is equally appropriate and valuable for GLBT readers. Although it's easier said than done, if you can successfully avoid the 10 relationships that won't EVER work (e.g., addict, emotionally unavailable), the quality of your life will increase tenfold. If, after reading this book and doing the exercises, you are still not having healthly relationships, you may want to consider seeking out a therapist for guidance and support. It's the brave souls who ask for help! One more thing...don't be turned off by the cheesy book cover; it belies its content.
Are you the one for me?.......2007-05-31
Excellent book for people who have a shown an inclination to make bad choices for a mate. I highly recommend this for any seeking a new relationship.
Break Out of Your Patterns.......2007-05-09
Spot your relationship patterns and learn what you're doing right and wrong. Then you'll truly be able to find someone who's good for you.

It's Sharing Day at Blue's school, and Blue is bringing something very special to share with her class. What can it be? Play Blue's Clues to help Joe figure out the surprise!
Customer Reviews:
Nice message with a clue game.......2007-08-15
My 4-year-old son likes the Blue's Clues books that follow the format of the show, and this one does. There's a clue game, "What does Blue want to bring to school for sharing day?" In addition, Joe, Blue and the gang learn/talk about sharing in various situations. Fine book overall.
Good sharing book.......2007-05-09
I bought this book to help my 1 and 2 year olds share better...they love blue, and seem to like the book. I wish the story was more focused on actually sharing one toy verses being okay with one child playing with something and then exchanging.
great book to learn about sharing, taking turns.......2007-02-12
I like this book for my daughter, and luckily it is one of my daughter's favorite books in her library.
A Game of Blue's Clues Once More.......2006-10-03
"One for Me, One for You" is a 2006 "Blue's Clues" book, #20 in the series and all about sharing. While some of the recent "Blue's Clues" books have featured Blue and the other dogs talking, evne without Blue's Room, this book reverts to the format of playing the Blue's Clues game. Also, Blue seems to look a bit different in this book --- a bit cuter. I think her face is a bit more rounded.
In this book, Blue is having Sharing Day at her school the next day. Joe isn't sure what it is that Blue wants to share, so we help with a game of Blue's Clues to figure it out. Along the way, we help with the sharing of cookies, playtoys and more.
Another nice book for "Blue's Clues" fans, or as a tool for teaching about sharing. The characters appear as they do in the TV series and unlike some Blue's Clues books that are entirely illustrated, this book incorporates photos of Donovan Patton (Joe.)
Book Description
Thelma Wells has known a lifetime of achievements and victories over obstacles, as well as a wealth of meaningful relationships and abundant ministry to countless others. But recently, God led her into dark valleys–including an almost fatal illness–as part of His plan to deepen her firsthand knowledge of Himself as the Great I AM. This rich experience is what she shares with you, along with plenty of smiles and laughter, in God Is Not Through with Me Yet.
She’s the first to say, “Thelma doesn’t have it all together. No one has it all together.” But the Lord has filled her heart to overflowing with new appreciation for His loving wisdom and His healing truth. It’s an overflow that spills out, with clarity, and humor, on every page of this book.
With personal stories and solid biblical teaching that open your heart to God’s truth, Thelma guides you to a deeper faith and an exuberant desire to follow your Lord…even through your life’s most turbulent storms. With the warmth of a grandmother, the wit of a jokester, and the wisdom of a woman in the Word, Thelma opens your eyes to the full wholeness God has for you.

Thelma Wells has inspired many as a much-sought-after speaker for the Women of Faith. She also touches many in her teachings of prayer and discovery of God. In "God is Not Through with Me Yet" Thelma shares her stories of inspiration from her own life, and the lives she has touched along the way.
"God is Not Through with Me Yet" is broken into three sections. Part I is filled with stories of Thelma's life, her struggles, her songs, and her journey in guiding people to the gift of prayer.
Part II is dedicated to the great I AM. It is formatted as a Bible study, filled with scripture and journal activities designed to help the reader discover how I AM can change lives, heal pain, be the Provider, and the Banner.
Part III is dedicated to scripture and lessons "for your reflection." These mini-sermons are broken into sections to help guide the reader to the subject matter they wish to focus upon.
"God is Not Through with Me Yet" serves in many ways. Thelma's stories are an inspiration, her teachings allow the reader to better connect through prayer, and her chosen scriptures provide a foundation for reflection. What the book is lacking is Thelma's strong presence, touching voice, and general glow of energy. "God is Not Through with Me Yet" is a quick glimpse into Thelma's life, as well as a toolkit to be taken off the shelf again and again.
Great Book; Greater Person.......2007-02-26
This lovely, hardcover book is only a sneak peek at a lovely woman who authored it. God Is Not Through With Me Yet is an easy, candid, inspiring read. It's almost as if Thelma is sitting across the table chatting with you, gently sharing her life lessons.
Often people pray for help, insight, healing, etc., One part of this book reveals some of the hindrances to prayer so that you can get God's answers.
I had the privilege of meeting Thelma in Indiana and she's a warm, welcoming, spiritually-dynamic lady.
Her book would make a good read or gift of encouragement to anyone who is going through tough times and needs to see the good that come out of bad.

Inspiration Plus.......2007-02-22
Thelma Wells came from one of the worst situations I could imagine. Born to a partially paralyzed mother, her great-grandparents raised her. On the rare occasions she went to see her grandparents, her grandmother would lock her in the closet for hours. Thelma learned early on that the only way to survive that dark, scary closet is to sing. And sing she did.
Thelma takes what she has learned from these less-than-ideal circumstances, and shares them with us in God Is Not Through With Me Yet. There are three parts to this book:
Part 1: I Can ...
Part 2: Because I Know I AM
Part 3: For Your Reflection.
In here, we learn:
-- Experience is an Able Teacher
-- He Prepares, and He Provides
-- A Path to Humility
-- I AM is Your Healer
-- I AM is your Provider
-- Obedience Really is Better
-- Plus much more.
In sharing with true-life stories, Thelma Wells teaches us as well as encourages us in our Christian walk. This book which will educate them in how to get the most out of their walk with Christ. Pick up God Is Not Through With Me Yet.

"Cookie jar. Stool./Cookies? Cool./One for me. One for you./That makes two." So begins an adventure in simple math--the conceptual adding of numbers--beyond standard counting books. As the child brings more cookies and toy cars, and takes some away, the value of sharing becomes meaningful even to the youngest members of the family. Playfully making points about both math and sharing, Grace Lin's dynamic patterns and vibrant colors leap off the page.

The best of it's type.......2001-12-20
Absolutely invaluable for those considering life-changing and important decisions regarding the relationship they're in. Thought-provoking self questionaires regarding their partner/potential mate. I have sent copies to friends. I recommend reading it during the early to middle stages of a developing relationship. Another similar book which is well worth getting is "Be Your Own Dating Service" by Nina Atwood. Despite the the poor title, it is a superb book on how to find and maintain a healthy relationship. Includes the best treatment on the subject of "attachment" I've ever read. Get both - You will thank me later! :)
This should be required reading for everyone........2000-08-23
This book is for all of those people out there who are wondering whether or not to stay in their current relationship, it's for all the people who haven't found their true love yet, it's for the people who think they've found their true love but still aren't happy. I guarantee you that by the time you finish reading this book, you'll understand your situation a lot better and feel a lot clearer about what needs to be done. It's been a long time since I've learned so much from a self-help book. All of her advice comes from viewing hundreds of couples, reading all the research articles and dealing with all of it personally, so this lady really knows what she's talking. SHe also covers it very in-depth so that you're guaranteed to find something that deals with your particular situation.

I was having one failed relationship after another, then my mother gave me this book. It made me realize why my relationships weren't working and how to change that plus so much more. She knows, she understands. She admits she's been there, done that and is sharing what she learned. Excellent book!
Read this or you will be bitter too after 42 years of bliss.......1999-07-17
Dr. Barbara knows what is like out there today...not 42 years ago. Relationships are different now. She summs it up perfectly for a world of men and women in a world that has changed.
Excellent guide for men and women.......1998-11-23
Every person considering making a decision about about choosing a life-long partner should read this book. I know I will not marry anyone unless they read the book and have conversations about her excellent points. PS- I am a male!
Book Description
"Pastor. What a beautiful word. What a unique relationship it conveys.... Each time someone calls me pastor, I am awestruck.... It humbles me, but I am grateful. There is no higher privilege than being a pastor." So writes H. B. London, who once again joins with his frequent collaborator Neil Wiseman to encourage and inspire church leaders with their most passionate, stirring book to date. They Call Me Pastor is an unabashed celebration of the deeply felt bond between a pastor and the congregation he serves-a testimony to the love of God and the miracles it can work in the lives of a shepherd and his flock if only His love is shared and allowed to flourish.

A Wonderful Addition To A Pastoral Library.......2006-10-23
My highest recommendation. If you are a pastor, then you know the joys of your calling from God, as well as the labor and trials that go along with it.
This book by Neil Wiseman, and H.B. London, will enrich your ministry, because it addresses many of the facets of serving the local church that you have probably already experienced.
Every pastor needs insight. This book delivers it in a big way. You will be blessed and encouraged, but most of all, you will find that others have gone down your road before you, and have provided a resource of experiences and good sound pastoral advice.
A must-have resource for all church leaders..........2001-01-12
If you want to greatly enhance the leadership of your church, place this book in their hands. With years of experience, personal stories, inciteful observations, and a conversational style, Wiseman and London Jr. present a book that addresses the highs and lows, elations and frustrations, and the certainties and doubts that each church leaders faces. They Call Me Pastor was a rich blessing for me, and I trust your personal life and ministry will reap the same reward.
