Book Description
Mommy got me a brand new potty!
But I'm not ready yet!
I want to run and play.
Uh-oh, I peed in my pants.
But Mommy says, "That's okay!"
Children will love following along and lifting the flaps to see the child play, sit on thepotty, eat, sit on the potty, sleep, and then sit on the potty...until finally there is success.
Written from a child's point of view, this new potty-training book will help children join in the final refrain, "I'm so proud of me!"
Customer Reviews:
GREAT !.......2007-10-14
GREAT BOOK FOR POTTY TRAINING. YOUR CHILD WILL GO WHEN SHE'S READY. MY DAUGHTER IS TWO AND ENJOYS FLIPPING THE PAGES UP. WE HAVE A FEW BOOKS BY KAREN KATZ AND SHE ENJOYS THEM ALL. GOOD TOPICS FOR READING.
Great Potty Book.......2007-08-31
I am on the cusp of potty training my little boy and wanted to use some books and videos to familiarize him with the potty and process prior to actually putting it into place. This book is a good first step. The pictures are large and the pages flip out making it fun to read. The sentences rhyme and are simple allowing my son to repeat them with me.
Cute.......2007-08-21
My 19 month old son loves when I read this book to him. The only thing I dislike is that the little kid pees their pants and mommy says "that's ok". I feel like it may give a mixed message. We'll see how it goes now that potty training is in full effect!
I don't recommend this book.......2007-08-16
The story/plot is good; but that doesn't overcome the construction of the book itself. The pages are the thickness of cardstock. This book lasted one week before my 2 year old son tore a page out. The flaps are not your typical "lift the flap". Rather, the pages fold out (think magazine centerfold). My son likes the fold out feature; but again, it's just not durable enough for a toddler who is anxious to flip through the book. Also, the flaps aren't cut to the proper size; so when they are folded back into the book, if not placed perfectly, the book gets "bound up". I recommend you get a sturdy board book. Skip this one.
Lift-The-Page Book.......2007-07-29
Nice book. Really is a lift-the-page book rather than lift-the-flap. That doesn't deter from the quality of it though.

Customer Reviews:
Best Potty Training Book Out There.......2007-05-21
Elizabeth Pantley's No Cry Potty Training Solution is one amazing book. She knows exactly what a parent needs to succeed in teaching their toddler to use the potty. I have twin boys and I never thought I would be able to get them to stop peeing on the floor and into a potty. Elizabeth's book helped me do that. The one thing that I like best about the book is that Elizabeth has real families telling their potty problems. Wow!!! I'm not alone, real people, real problems but with Elizabeth's help, a real solution. That is what I love about the No Cry Potty Training Solution. It is easy to follow and the quick reference guides are wonderful. Most importantly, Elizabeth eloquently describes that you don't have to follow a set standard on how or when you should potty train. She simply states that it is ok to follow your child's cues and do what works best for you and your family. Only you know your child best. I however, think that Elizabeth knows every child best. I recommend that if you are even thinking about potty training...look no further, run out and get this book right away. I promise you won't be able to put it down.
Okay book, if you do not have an extremely stubborn child.......2007-05-09
I really liked the take of this book....be calm, let the child lead, be calm, the child will not be ready until he/she is ready, be calm. Did I mention that a ton of this book is based on you? Like I said I did like the book, it was easy to read and made sense...EXCEPT if you have a totally stubborn child who absolutely refuses to go on the potty. There is no practicals on how to deal with problems like this. What do you do when your child is ready, but can not be bothered to stop playing? I think the book can be improved greatly by some practical answers other than maybe your child is not ready.
Another good book in the series.......2007-03-16
This book is very user friendly. Although many of the ideas I knew about I found Pantley's methods and explanations bring those into a new light. Using the new and the old techniques, my daughter almost trained herself by 32mo including night time. She has only had a hand full of accidents since she announced she would no longer wear diapers and she is now well over 3. There were definitely no tears shed for this adventure! I am using the same philosophy with my 2 year old niece and she is potty trained at home, only wearing a pull up out of the house and at bed.
A helpful book.......2007-02-09
I was anxious about potty-training my little one. This book helped me feel more prepared before tackling it. I like the quiz that helped you decide if your toddler was showing readiness signs- another way to eliminate the guesswork.
The author takes a low-stress approach and constantly reminds the parent that they set the tone for potty training. It CAN be a fun process for both you and your toddler.
Good information on potty chairs (pros/cons) and different prizes to incorporate in the learning process.
user friendly.......2007-02-01
WOW!! I enjoyed this book. I found this book to be straight forward, easy to follow-- I guess user friendly. Potty training is hard enough. I didn't need something complicated and time consuming to read- which I found with other books. I was able to read this book in segments and initiate plan of action. Thank you for a book that works!!

Book Description
Every little girl's graduation from diapers to the potty is always a very important momentÂand one to make both parents and toddlers proud! In The Potty Book, Hannah needs to have her diapers changed so she can go out and play. Then mom and dad bring home a big box, and Hannah is anxious to open it up and see what's inside. Is it a rocking chair? A bed for Teddy? No, it's a pottyÂwhich means that it's time for Hannah to graduate from her diapers. This gentle and humorous little story is charmingly illustrated and told in verse. Little girls will enjoy looking at the pictures and having the story read to them. Meanwhile, they'll start getting the idea that it's time for them to grow up, exactly like Hannah. So that at last, they'll be able to sayÂ"I'm off the potty!"
Customer Reviews:
She loves it.......2007-09-04
This a short and fun potty book. If you're thinking about potty training in the near future, or even if it's further down the road, I definitely suggest this book.
My 2 year old daughter LOVES this book!!.......2007-07-17
My 2 year old loves Hannah! We would read it several times when she went to the potty. We actually started reading it to her before we potty trained so that she would get the idea. She potty trained in 1 week and is diaper free (even at night).
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU INTRODUCE THIS.......2007-07-10
Our 2 year old was quite comfortable using the potty to pee. When a friend recommended this book to us and in order to move to the next stage we bought it. Error on our part. Our daughter who had never had "an accident" and knew that she needed to pee in the toilet said that it was okay to pee on the floor as Hannah did.
We now skip that page but have to say sadly that we believe this book has pushed us backwards.
If your child is already using the toilet occasionally then this book might not be the one for you.
Not bad, not great.......2007-04-14
I have a 20 month old, and this book just doesn't hold her attention as well as others that have more vibrant images. This book wopuld be better suited to an older child.
A must have!.......2007-04-11
My children wanted me to read this book over and over again. Highly recommended.

Customer Reviews:
Great tool for potty training any child.......2007-10-10
I bought this book after my best friend and my son's pediatritian reccommended the techniques used by Terri. I soon learned that my bigest battle for potty training my son was my readiness not his. What an eye opener. So after having my husband take the parent readiness test, we discovered that it would be better if he threw my son his potty party. And I am happy to say it worked! Since we had the party a month or so ago we have only had a couple of accidents (too preocupied) and have just conquered the overnight step, and my son is 3years and 3 months, yeah! I have to also note that I am doubly impressed with Terri. My best friend has had a terrible time, and I mean drag out, knock down, in tears terrible time with her son (same age as mine). So with nothing to loose I emailed Terri and to my surprise she called me back to give more help and suggestions. Needless to say my friend is relieved that even if things don't go smoothly, there are still ways Terri can help. Terri has so much compassion and concern for both parent and child. I never thought that I would have such an amazing expireince from just one book!
A Must Read for Parents of Toddlers!!.......2007-09-17
Teri Crane, the Potty Pro is outstanding. We bought her book for our 2.5 year old son and IT WORKS! We met Teri at a Potty Training Seminar, bought her book and she gave us her e-mail and phone number. Teri has even called us answering our potty training questions.
We didn't talk about potty training with our son until the day of the potty party. He never used the potty before our potty party. And during that afternoon, he went #1 in the potty. It's amazing! He loves his dolly and is so proud that he taught Dolly how to use the potty. He has gone on the potty for the last 2 weeks, with a few accidents. We threw his diapers away and he's so proud that he is a "big boy" now like Dolly! He wears big boy underwear like Dolly and even carries Dolly around with him!
Teri makes potty training fun and easy! It's a must read for all parents going through the joy of potty training their child! We are so proud of our son and he's proud of himself, thanks to Teri Crane!
Too Overwhelming.......2007-09-07
I'm a party person, and a stay at home Mom, so I have the time. But this is a bit over the top. Even the author admits, your child will not be completely trained in one day. He or she will get there, and will be able to use the potty in one day. But for me, we'll go back to planning on several days of training, and a few weeks of consistant reinforcement. There are some great tips in the book, such as the doll to use, and the stickers, treats, etc. . . But the best tip was the little side bar leading me to the Huggies Big Kids web site. There's a ton of information there. Not a bad book, just a little over optimistic if you can't stay really exited about staying in the potty all day.
Thank You! Thank You! It works!.......2007-08-11
First off, how can ANYONE "review" a book if they have not READ it? The negative reviews on this book are just plain silly. Just because you don't like the IDEA? Try putting the IDEA and PLAN into action and then you can honestly give a real review.
I bought this book on a whim. I've been wanting to potty train my 2 1/2 year old son for quite some time. At first I was highly skeptical! I thought, "Maybe for older kids who just need that little push. This will NOT work for my son who is completely oblivious to what's going on in his diaper!" I waited a couple of months to let life settle down. During this time he became more aware of his body and met all of the requirements in Teri's book.
Some reviewers complain about how much money you HAVE to invest and I just have to disagree. You CAN go all out, buy the most expensive doll and buy every single item on the recommended lists..or you can simplify things. I simplified our plan. I purchased a $12 "Lots to Love" doll from Wal~Mart and lots of stickers. We made our own chart up and had a nice supply of underwear on hand. I spent maybe $10 in snacks and had plenty left over to carry on through the week. You don't HAVE to do anything the book suggests, I went with the basic model and idea and we had a blast! My son was thrilled by his new baby, he was thrilled with a few new boardgames (which I would have bought anyways). He loved the attention and the games and all the books I read to him.
I didn't think my son would get into the roleplaying aspect, but he did! He fed his baby and showed his baby the potty and watched videos and read books with his baby. He named him George and he would say "Good Job George!" everytime George was successful. It was a wonderful morning and we celebrated George becoming a big boy by going to McDonalds. We got some strange looks over my SON carrying around a half naked babydoll wearing Thomas the Train underpants..but I didn't care! I proudly looked people in the eye and said "He's learning to be a big boy and is teaching his baby how to use the potty!"
I was VERY nervous about the second half of the day. Again, I was still skeptical. My son, obviously, LOVED having so much juice and treats and really got into racing Mama to the potty! He was successful the first time we tried it! Everytime he'd sit on the potty, he'd make sure George was sitting on his potty too! We went through 3 pairs of underpants that day and had a successful poo-poo in the potty! All the juice actually helped with my son's constipation problems!
We celebrated with just us. We ordered a pizza and gave our son a couple of small presents. He loved them and he loved his small little cake! You don't have to spend tons of money to teach your child simple concepts.
It has been almost 2 weeks since our party. He didn't magically train in one day, but the party kickstarted the process. He has good days and bad days..and the bad days are due to MY attitude and not being as excited about the process as I should be. He has learned so much and makes more and more advances with each passing day! He's gone from waking up in a SOAKING wet diaper, to sleeping in big boy underwear and waking up to go pee in the potty. He has gone from NO awareness to telling me in the middle of a fascinating movie "Mama I have to go pee pee!" We are on day 2 of NO accidents and I couldn't be prouder of my son! I may feel a little silly doing the pee-pee dance in a public restroom, but seeing the satisfied and happy look on my boy's face is worth all of the embarassment in the world!
The best part is the personal attention and assistance I received from Teri. I had emailed her, asking for advice on using public potties. My son was NOT interested. Imagine my surprise when I received a personal phone call from Teri herself! We had a wonderful conversation and she gave me some very helpful insight and encouragement. I told her I had recommended this book to all of my friends and the internets.
THANK YOU Teri for all of your help! I look forward to implementing your advice and am excited about my Big Boy! He is so proud of himself and I owe it all to Teri Crane!
Even if it takes more than one day...............2007-08-10
This book has helped us in so many ways! We tried to potty train our son with no success several times. In desperation, I read Teri Crane's book and tried the potty party. Although it initially worked, after the novelty wore off, my son somewhat regressed. I went to the web site and emailed Teri Crane, and she contacted me immediately with many more helpful ideas and suggestions!
In the past year I have found invaluable help from the book, especially the back section with information with the experts, and most of all from Teri Crane. She is an author who believes in her product and is willing to help. She has given me, more than anything, empathy, understanding and peace of mind.
Book Description
Do the math: If a mother averages six diaper changes a day, she'll change 2,190 diapers during her baby's first year. Things improve slightly over the next twelve months. Based on five changes a day, she'll add another 1,825 diaper changes to her score. By the time her child is half- way to her third birthday, Mom will pass the 5,000 mark. That's a lot of dirty diapers! If this mom is you, it's no wonder you might be thinking seriously about potty training. While successful potty training in itself isn't considered a developmental milestone in a child's life, it is nonetheless an important transition for both you and your child. The good news is that potty training doesn't have to be complicated and neither does a book that explains it. Busy moms need a resource that gives them comprehensive information without a lot of unnecessary details and presents them with options instead of a one-size-fits-all program. Potty Training 1-2-3 provides all of that and more. The more is in the results.
Customer Reviews:
potty training book.......2007-05-14
I bought this book because I used the baby wise books by the same author and was elated to have such a resource. This book was very practical, easy to understand and implement.
knowing when to start.......2007-05-13
I have found this helpful so far with my 2-year-old, mainly learning that he is not as ready as I thought he was. Now that I have let off the pressure and am giving potty training a break, we are both happier. I will start again, with the ideas in the book, when we are both more apt to be able to follow through and succeed.
Simple, Short to the Point.......2007-01-19
If anyone has ever read, "How to Toilet Train your Child in Less than a Day" you know that potty training books can be somewhat obnoxious to read. Making it seem much more simple than it is, and yet forcing you to wade through way too much information. This book took many of the concepts from the less than a day book, but stuck to the basic points, and also admitted that not all children can be trained in less than a day. Great resource for potty training!
Didn't work for me.......2007-01-19
Although I found Babywise and Toddlerwise by the Ezzos very useful, I found this book somewhat difficult to follow. I tried to potty train in a day, but was not successful. I did use the suggestion to reinforce keeping undies dry and clean in addition to rewarding success on the potty. My 2 1/2 year old daughter became so focused on keeping her panties dry that she would hold her urine for hours without going potty. I used a combination of approaches and my daughter was day time potty trained within a few weeks. Overall, I felt most information in the book could be found elsewhere.
Great resource!.......2007-01-14
The author offers several options for training in a matter-of-fact manner. The troubleshooting and frequently asked questions sections were very helpful.

Worked!.......2007-09-19
This is one of two books that we used (along with the skittles candy each time my son went on his potty). Something worked :-). He really liked when I was reading this book to him in the bathroom.
Great Potty Book.......2007-09-11
This is such a cute book, and it touches on some good potty training issues, like the fact that it takes some time & practice, and sometimes accidents happen. It's a little long, though; although my 2-year-olds usually hang in there, it tests their attention span at times. Overall, I think it's one of the better potty training books I've seen.
A potty training book that actually deals with reality........2007-09-02
Unlike many potty training books, this one actually shows both a mother and a father working with a child through the entire experience of potty training: getting the potty chair, the mechanics of poo and pee, and transitioning from diapers to "big boy pants", all with the boy's parents there and helping with the mechanics as well as love and encouragement. If I had to do it over again, this would be a primary book in my potty training library.
Son loves this book!.......2007-08-24
My son is learning about using the potty and he absolutely loves this book about "Michael" and how he learns to use the potty. He'll talk about it too and say "just like Michael." I think the book really helps him relate to the whole idea and that other kids are doing it too... "just like Michael."
Good potty book.......2007-06-27
My 2 yr old likes this book. I appreciate that the little boy "Michael" in the book tries and tries but nothing happens (at first). The only thing I wasn't too keen on was that Michael's father taught him to urinate standing up the very next morning. I wished they could have saved this task until later in the book once Michael has mastered using the toliet.

Does a good job of explaining how potty training happens.......2007-06-18
I like this book because it explains potty training as a process, beginning when mommy and daddy bring home a potty chair and ending with the transition to big girl panties. It depicts two supportive parents gently helping their daughter to learn to use the toilet and shows that sometimes accidents will happen and that the child will still need to wear diapers at night for a while. It is also relatable for children, beginning with the words, "Ashley is a girl just your age" and describing how she likes to play with toys and do other things that children like to do.
Best Potty Book We Found.......2007-04-12
We bought this book for our 18mo. old daughter to start potty training as she's been showing all the signs of wanting to go on the potty. She took to it immediatley. She loves the pictures and the simple story line that she can understand about a little girl named Ashley. Whenever we talk about going potty she always says "like Ashee", it's so adorable. I'm positive we'll be buying the same book for boys when it comes time for our newborn son to start training. Great Buy!
OK, but not exciting.......2007-01-13
My daughter likes this book, but not a lot. I think it would be better for getting a child started - she was already sitting on the potty and doing her business before we started reading it.
This is what did it.......2006-09-13
DD found this book at the library and wanted it read to her CONSTANTLY, around the time she seemed to be getting interested/willing to try the potty. She liked it so much I went and bought her her own copy.
She enjoyed other potty books/videos, especially "Once Upon a Potty", but for some reason this one seemed to be the one that did it for her and made the whole idea click.
I think it's well-written and nicely illustrated. Kids can easily identify with the pictures and with the few false starts that Ashley has on the potty, and the questions asked help draw them into the story as it's being read.
DD is 4 now and has been potty-trained for over a year, but still likes to re-read the book on occasion.
I've given it to friends who are going through the potty-training stage, and they've all been happy with it too.
Love this book for my Daughter.......2006-08-26
My daughter really seeems to pay attention when I read this to her and she seems to understand about the potty. I bought this book and the "Too Big for Diapers" book with Ernie featured. She liked the "Too Big for Diapers" book she knew Ernie. She really related to this book because it was about another little girl. I would recommend both, unless you have a little boy then I would a book about a little boy.

Daughter likes it.......2007-09-05
Wording: The author uses different words for body parts and functions than our family uses, but that's an easy fix. Change the words as you read it. No author is going to use the same words everyone uses. Plus, maybe these are the popular words in Isreal (where the author lives). I'm an RN, we talk to people about elimination every day. You'd be amazed at the terms people (even adults) use. As a parent, relax, be flexible, and roll with it.
Art: Eye of the beholder. I like the way these pictures look. More like a combo of drawing and collage. There's been some complaints about the picture of urine and stool on the floor. There are similar "accident" pictures in every potty book. Kids have accidents (lucky for me, so far we've only had urine accidents). Teach kids it's part of learning this new milestone. The "pot" looks like a pitcher. We use a potty seat not a potty chair. Maybe I'm lucky, but my daughters have never been fazed by any books where the characters are not using the same type of seat as they do.
It's a bit wordy: We are trying to get our daughter closer to 100% potty trained. But at 3, she's old enough to sit through it.
Bottom line: My child likes it. That's who this whole process is all about. If it helps get her to 100% I'll read it to her twice a day every day.
I have tried many others, and this is THE GREATEST!.......2007-08-08
The lovely PRUDENCE has been around for almost 30 years and is probably the #1 all-time bestselller in this category, but her classic story is fresh and magical and empowering to both you and your child! It is amazing how the writing and illustrations work together to slowly build undertsanding of and interest in potty learning.
When we saw how well the book is working, we rushed to get the DVD - Once Upon a Potty For Her , were delighted with the new and improved plush doll + mini potty paks, and then discovered there is also an actual potty gift box! After wasting too much money on several other potties, we picked up this one - Once Upon A Potty Gift Box With Song Audio Cd - and have never looked back. It works!
not her favorite.......2007-07-28
this isn't my daughter's favorite potty book. She prefers reading "Everyone Poops" actually. There are alot of words to read to her in this book. She can't quite make it through everything I'm trying to read before turning the page. But, she's only 15 mos. old so I'm sure she'll enjoy it more as she gets older. Having been raised on Prudence myself (and so were my sibling & cousins), I love the story. I love that it shows the poop in the potty. My husband's a physician, both of my parents are physicians, and I'm going to be one eventually. We don't believe in using polite words instead of the real ones and definitely don't feel embarrassed at pictures of poop in places where it belongs. This book does not push any lines for me; actually, I can't stand the potty books that beat around the bush and don't even show that there is supposed to be poop & pee in the potty when you're done. At least this book tells it like it is even if it uses one too many words.
Don't waste your money.......2007-07-19
This book is too long, not age appropriate and is annoying to read. The pictures aren't really age appropriate for a young child (perhaps it would be better if you had an older child you were trying to potty train - but I doubt it). The only thing my daughter enjoys is looking for the pages with poopoo on them. Don't waste your money on this one. There are many other cute potty training books out there. I just bought the sesame street one and my daughter loves it and I don't mind reading it.
Once Upon a Potty -- Girl.......2007-07-14
Great potty training book for potty training.... There is one for boys and one for girls.... I have been giving for gifts for years... Cute idea for new baby shower.... IF you know the sex of the baby ahead of time.!!
Book Description
Toddler Grover and his Sesame Street friends are just beginning to learn about potty training. This interactive board books talks directly to readers and allows them to "flush" a potty at the end. A perfect introduction to the issue of toilet training for toddlers and their parents and care givers!

Cute Potty Book for Younger Kids.......2007-09-11
My boys love this book, especially the end where they get to "flush" the potty down and tell it bye-bye. For little Sesame Street fans, this is a good potty training book.
The only thing I don't like is that it switches from toilets to potty seats (Zoey uses the toilet, Big Bird has a potty seat), which I think could be confusing since most kids progress from a potty seat to a toilet. I would still recommend it, though.
I was disappointed.......2007-09-06
I guess based on the other reviews and the price, I expected more. This book seems really short to me. It covers the potty habits of 4 of Grover's Sesame Street friends (some of them like to potty - some aren't ready to potty and that's ok - etc.). It just seemed a little brief to me and didn't have much meat to it. My 2 year old son thought it was ok - but he isn't excited about it the way some of the other reviewers' children seemed to be. And I expected more from the flush the potty feature on the last page. It is a paper lever that is really easy to pull off if you have a child who is less than delicate with books (a board book with a flimsy paper pull tab seems contradictory to me...give me something a little sturdier...). I think the book is over priced for what you get (and if you buy it used, make sure the paper flush handle is intact before you buy - because that's really the only feature that makes this book stand out and it probably won't last multiple children).
Cute book.......2007-06-10
My son loves this book. There is a little flushing potty at the end and he just sits there flushing it over and over. It's not an electric flush it is a little tab that you slide up and down to make the "pee pee go bye bye". I recommend this book.
Potty Sucess.......2007-05-07
Love this book, especially the last page where the child can actually move a lever to "flush the pee in the toilet." My son loves it!
Not so much help.......2007-04-27
My son just loves to hear the story and flush the pee pee but that does not help with the potty training.
