Enthusiastically recommended for parents, teachers, and caregivers of young children everywhere........2007-04-14
Kindergarten teacher Jill Frankel Hauser presents Science Play, a compendium of over 65 safe, age-appropriate activities designed to foster creativity and a sense of discovery in children ages 2 to 6. Step-by-step instructions and simple black-and-white illustrations walk readers through activities such as observing earthworms at work, making puddle prints with food coloring, water, and a simple medicine dropper, or gathering and sorting rocks. Young children will most likely need an adult's help with reading the instructions, but the activities themselves are easy to do and highly inexpensive. Enthusiastically recommended for parents, teachers, and caregivers of young children everywhere.
A fun way to introduce science to little kids!.......2006-02-13
It's absolutely perfect for our 3- and 5-year olds! It's a great way to introduce science concepts to them. The experiments are simple to prepare, very interesting and lots of fun. Also, most of the materials are common items used at home. We have done a number of the experiments without spending much money at all. It comes very handy, too, during rainy or snowy days. The activities help keep the kids from getting bored inside the house.
Outstanding resource.......2004-02-08
My kids loved these fun learning activities. Enough to keep them busy through early childhood. Nothing canned here. . . all creative and discovery-focused. Makes biology and even physics accessable to very young children. You can't go wrong with this outstanding guide.
This series is GREAT.......2003-07-31
This is really handy for the budding scientist in your preschooler. Experiements are written so that the early reader can understand and do the experiments on their own (it lets the reader know when a parent needs to help or supervise, such as when scissors are involved) and has question that the parent can use to further expand on projects. Also check this whole series, such as math play, arts and crafts from around the world, rainy day play, weather, shapes, etc. My son loves these activies. Plus for the price, you can't beat it. (...)
Dissatisfied in Annandale.......2003-01-12
This book had some neat ideas and experiments, but not enough explanations for them. I have a very inquisitive 4 year old and this book just didn't satisfy his curiosity or my expectations.

Wonderful party favor.......2007-08-01
We bought 30 of these books to give as party favors for my daughter's fourth birthday. They were very popular, and I loved not distributing a bunch of plastic junk.

As they approach their second birthday, many children begin to enjoy playing classic baby games such as This Little Piggy, Pat-a-Cake, and Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes. And who better to teach these rhymes and games than the Sesame Street gang? Throughout this big square board book, baby Bert and Ernie, Cookie Monster, and Big Bird help toddlers learn the hand gestures and words to a dozen familiar games. Parents or teachers can guide their charges, using the smaller print under each verse. ("Gently clap baby's hands together. Roll baby's hands, pat them, then trace a large B on baby's front. Point at baby, then at yourself.") The Sesame Beginnings series (Cookie See! Cookie Do!, etc.) is a cute, fun way to help children from birth to 36 months attain important developmental milestones, such as hand-eye coordination and gross motor skills. (18 to 24 months) --Emilie Coulter
Book Description

Wonderful book! .......2007-04-12
My son has loved the Sesame Beginnings books since he was a few months old. We keep buying the new age range books as he gets older. He still loves the earliest ones and gets so excited whenever we show them to him. I recommend all the Sesame Beginnings books to help teach children to enjoy learning and reading. Pat-A-Cake is a favorite of my 15 month old son!
Bright pictures, lovely book.......2006-09-16
I have been reading this book to my now 1 year old daughter since 4 months of age. She was instantly captivated by bright pictures. Added to that are the collection of rhymes that can be played with the child. When I read out "Five little ducks..." She answers back saying "Quack Quack Quack".

It's never too early to build a child's vocabulary, and the updated My First Brain Quest--designed specifically for 2- and 3-year-olds--is a fun way to get started. The tall, skinny plastic box contains three decks (the cards are attached so they fan out on a hinge) with a total of 400 questions, and a spongy, nontoxic Max toy monkey. The idea is to have the toddler bond with the monkey, so the child associates the cards with playtime! Deck One offers a full day with Max from the time he wakes up until bedtime. For example, a full-page cartoon of Max in his colorful toy-ridden bedroom asks, "Who just woke up? What is Max wearing? What do you see in his room?" The cards break down into smaller illustrations with object and activity identification ("What is Max doing? He's putting on his slippers" or "What is this called? A clock.") We follow Max through breakfast, school, music lessons, and more. Deck Two introduces children to seasonal activities, including trick-or-treating and playing on a snowy day. Deck Three explores the world, following Max from the mall to a picnic in the country to a farm. The Brain Quest series is a wonderful vehicle for parents to play and learn with their wee ones, and paves the way for a lifetime fascination with words. (Ages 2 to 3)

Late talker loves these cards.......2007-04-01
I bought these for my son, he is 30 months old and a late talker. They were great for helping build his vocabulary. It gave me great ideas of topics to talk to him about and he loved the little monkey. I say "Let's play with Max" and he runs and gets his cards. We substitute storytime before bed with the cards on some nights and it works out great. I will definitly continue to buy these cards as he gets older.

A great Learning game!!!
A Fun Way to Learn.......2005-08-22
We bought this set when my daughter was about 2 1/2, she loved Max the Monkey, and it was a really good way to teach her how to relate words with pictures. She amazed me with how much she already knew, then again some of the things that she didn't know amazed me too!My only complaint is that Max is not more durable, I mean come on, who makes a two year olds toy out of foam?? I would reccomend this product, I have already bought the 3-4 year old version of brainquest.

Hours of bonding.......2007-09-02
My two year old Granddaughter recently visited me from South Africa, and we had hours of fun with this and other Priddy basic sticker books. We made a routine of sticker books and reading every night for three months. We laughed and high-fived and talked. We did other sticker books as well, but these books by Priddy were the most age appropriate and educational..

These books are wonderful learning tools! My nephew is 3 and absolutely loves his 'ticker books. I spend hours with him putting the stickers in the right places and learning numbers and letters. He's flying through them so I'll have to order more! I highly recommend these books.
Good variety.......2006-01-16
Stickers are pictures of actual items, which is nice. Vivid colors and big stickers are easy to match. I'm also a math teacher, and I really liked that squares and rectangles were listed differently! I also liked that the triangles weren't all equilateral triangles. Reasonable price & good quality.

Best brand of sticker books around.......2007-05-25
My 3-year-old daughter received the Sticker Activity Book (Numbers) as a gift and she loved it so much that I ordered the ABC Letters book for her and another one of the Numbers book to give as a gift.
This is a great educational tool where the child has to find the correct sticker and place it on the correct page. It is made from good quality paper and the stickers do NOT rip easily like some cheaper books.
She is learning while having fun and that's great!
WONDERFUL!.......2006-05-03
Wonderful is the best way to describe this book. I purchased it for my 3 year old son. He already loved stickers so I thought it might be handy, especially due to me being 8 months pregnant at the moment. Total time from start to finish was about 6 hours. The book comes with a lot of stickers, which might be a little difficult for little fingers to peel off. Most of the stickers are larger, but some are slightly smaller than a penny. There are a page of number stickers that are color coded to where they need to be on the page, so if your little one isn't quite familiar with numbers, they can do it to the colors. I would most definately recommend this, though I wouldn't suggest it for children under 3. I am going to buy more for when the baby is sleeping and I need to keep the toddler quiet.

Book Description
There is perhaps nothing more important in a child's education than the development of literacy skills. From the moment they are exposed to books, children are beginning to understand that what is spoken can also be written. These important discoveries aid in the construction of a child's earliest literacy concepts and make the prospect of reading and writing attainable and exciting.
The latest in a series of discovery and activity books, More Than Letters is filled with dozens of fun and engaging activities designed to make literacy adventurous and meaningful for children. More Than Letters contains an extensive whole-language curriculum that creates classroom environments that surround children with meaningful print.
Each activity is accompanied by a photograph and a detailed explanation of how to set up the activity and construct materials. Also included are suggestions for comments and questions teachers can use to encourage phonetic awareness in their children.

See for yourself..........2007-08-04
I teach in a Head Start Program. Like children in every classroom, I see a range of literacy skills. This book TRULY offers ideas for individualizing for those different levels. I did not rate it a 4 because I found a deficiency, but because I do not personally believe anything is perfect. Yet, this is pretty good....Go to the bookstore and check it out yourself...
pretty good.......2006-04-28
I'm a sophomore and an Early Childhood Education major. I am currently in a class, teaching five year olds reading comprehension and I have found a couple of useful activities in this book.
More Than Letters.......2006-03-22
This is an excellent source of information if you have preschool or kindergarten age children in your home or classroom. I am studing to be an early childhood educator and have used this book many times to get ideas, for setting up a classroom and getting lesson plan ideas.
More Than Letters.......2004-05-22
This book, along with every book in the series, is excellent. The books are filled with activities that really interest kids, and all are easy for teachers to present. I use these books almost daily!
Just what I've been waiting for.......2002-06-22
I have other books in the "More Than" series, and have been waiting and hoping the authors would write one for the Language and Literacy category. This one is just as excellent as the others in the series. It tells you ways to use materials and make materials and games for literacy centers in your classroom. The book also covers group and individual activities and take home activities (literacy suitcases). I highly recommend the "More Than" series to every Pre-K and K teacher.
