My baby loves it!.......2007-09-13
short and sweet, my 9-month-old baby loves this book. she has a couple of favorite pages, but we often look at this book. we also have That's Not My Train, which she also enjoys. I think we need to get more! a really great book!
a FAVORITE first book!.......2007-05-22
We started reading this book to our daughter when she was just a few months old and it is definately a favorite first book! The words are simple, repetative (but in a cute way not an annoying way:) and there is a new texture to touch on every page. It's so interactive. This is one of the few that our daughter loved to sit all the way through and it's small enough to go everywhere with us (and now that she can walk, she really can carry it with her everywhere:).
Happy with this book.......2007-04-11
These books are really cute. My son (8 mos.) likes to feel the different textures, and my daughter (3 1/2) likes to find the mouse on each page. We have the dinosaur one also.
A FAVORITE!!.......2007-03-11
This is my daughter's FAVORITE book. She's nine months and we've been reading it regularly fo the past couple of months. She loves the basic repetition of 'that's not my puppy..' and especially loves the '..ears are too shaggy.'page. She'll reach for the feely parts of the book :)
It's to the point now where if she's fussy or bored we can recite a line from the book (without having the book, just from memory)and she instantly is destracted, looks up at us and smiles!
I'm super pumped to learn there's other books in the 'series'!! Wish I'd had known sooner :)
Great book.......2007-03-08
This is such a cute book my daughter loves it. She has started to read it to us now and loves the fuzzy pages.

How we love Max--the mischievous toddler rabbit who is often battling wits and wills with his bossy-boots older sister Ruby. Now it's time for the siblings' Easter egg hunt! Just as the festivities are about to begin, a secretive Easter Bunny places a huge chocolate chicken in the birdbath. "I love you," Max innocently declares to the edible chicken he covets. "Wait Max," warns Ruby. "First we must go on an egg hunt. If you find the most eggs then you get the chocolate chicken." But Max, who is still young enough to be distracted by mud puddles and marching ants, can't possibly focus on finding a single egg. When it becomes obvious that Ruby has collected the most (if not all) of the Easter eggs, Max takes drastic measures--as the youngest sibling often will--and steals the chicken. Rosemary Wells's expressive, giggle-funny illustrations (along with the board-book format) make this a perfect Easter story for toddlers as well as preschoolers, who will delight in Max's blatant misbehavior and relish the inevitable happy ending. (Baby to preschool) --Gail Hudson
Book Description
When Max's Chocolate Chicken was first published in 1989, School Library Journal cheered, "It's cause for celebration when rabbit toddler Max and his bossy sister Ruby return to share another holiday with young readers." Now Dial is proud to present this wonderful story in an updated board book format, featuring a bright new cover illustration and fresh design. Max and Ruby are going on an Easter egg hunt, and Ruby has declared that whoever finds the most eggs will win the chocolate chicken that someone put in the birdbath. "No eggs, no chicken, Max," warns Ruby as her brother wanders off to investigate ants and acorns. But, as always, Max gets the last wordand the chocolate chicken!
Customer Reviews:
One of my kids' Top Ten books!.......2006-12-13
My kids LOVE this book! It figures that someone who thinks that stuffy Ruby bossing her brother around (Bunny Cakes) would NOT like poor Max unable to resist the chocolate chicken! I cannot believe that people take this book so seriously! Our kids giggle and smile while we read as Max hides from his industrious, single-minded, bossy boots sister while messily munching the chicken. I love the new version of the Easter bunny, the artistry on the eggs is delightful as well as the droll humor.
I think that the lesson that this book teaches our children is that life is fun and chocolate chickens shouldn't be taken too seriously! Or- since rule-making Ruby is the oldest, she would no doubt be the winner of the egg hunting contest and once again a frustrated Max outwits her! Hooray for the underdog (bunny).
This is great for kids..........2005-12-13
if they're smoking something. I got this as a discard from the library, and decided it might be suitable for the library in my preschool class. The pictures are cute and yet, disturbing as well. The story makes no sense, and the children did not really enjoy any part of it. I left it in their little library for months, and they never looked at it. This story is simply too bizarre for children, although I'm sure it's great for adults after enjoying certain herbal refreshments. This teacher gives it a "D".
Great Book!.......2005-04-03
This book was so cute! It reminded me so much of me and my one sister. I used to always find her candy and sneak a piece or two (she took forever to eat hers!). My sisters and I all love each other and we're extremely close. Kids will be kids and have their little antics--that's what gives us times to look back on. It is also what makes us so close to each other. This book is one we read every single day during the Easter Season!
Love it or leave it........2004-05-26
I think the previous reviewer (tabris02) has given good advice. This book will either resonate with you or it won't. We received it as a gift and were a bit puzzled by it, asking grandma, "What kind of lesson are you trying to teach our toddler?" The bulk of the story was cute, as Max mucked about in the yard while Ruby single-mindedly found every Easter egg. But the ending didn't sit well with me...selfishness with no remorse or consequences or even awareness of his sister's feelings. Years later, with three kids, I realize that siblings will learn to be competitive and selfish even without seeing those traits demonstrated in books. So, I've lightened up a bit. But I still don't find myself reaching for this book on our shelf. Of the Max and Ruby stories, I prefer Bunny Cakes. Another of our favorite Rosemary Wells books is Fritz and the Mess Fairy (Fritz is a slob who during one amazing night tries to make it up to his family by cleaning the entire house and fixing them breakfast in bed. In the process, he makes a huge mess again in the kitchen...but his efforts to improve himself and express his love to his family are very endearing!).
My kids love this book.......2004-04-23
The best part about this book is realizing -- after several readings -- how Ruby, the older sister, tries to manipulate her little brother by telling him he has to win an egg hunt to win the chocolate chicken. But of course, big sister gets humbled (and her own chocolate chicken) in the end.
This book is my kids' favorite Max and Ruby book, but they are all good, especially Bunny Cakes.

Book Description
"Goodnight, Max," says Max's sister Ruby. But Max can't get comfortable. First he spills a glass of water. Then there are all those itchy cookie crumbs in his bed...and the moon shining through his window. Will poor Max ever fall asleep? Rosemary Wells' beloved Max and Ruby are back in an irresistibly touchable book that is also a satisfying bedtime story. Toddlers won't be able to resist all the tactile elements--fourteen tempting things to touch, move, even smell--while a gently humorous story makes this the perfect book for bedtime, naptime, or anytime!
Customer Reviews:
Mischevious Max makes for great stories.......2007-07-19
The stories of mishechvious yet charming Max and his older sister Ruby makes great reading especially for boys, but also for girls too. My kids really delighted in reading these books, and I'm sure yours would as well.
My toddler's favorite.......2007-05-20
We received this book as a gift and it was my toddler's first introduction to Max and Ruby. She loves this book and will ask for "Max" at bedtime. She enjoys the interactive aspects (the window that goes up and down, the blanket, etc.) and it has a cute storyline.
Perfect Bedtime Story.......2006-08-23
My 2-year-old son, Max, LOVES this book. He insists we read it every night, immediately followed by _Max's Toys_. The touch-and-feel areas are very small, although it doesn't seem to bother him. He just loves to open and close the window.
GOODNIGHT MAX.......2006-03-27
It's a very sweet, short story-good for 2's and 3's. A great book? No. A cute story with two rabbits? Yes!
You have to be a fan.......2001-07-30
I bought this book after reading all the great reviews. It is a nice book, bright colors, lots of attention to detail, silly story line, but I didn't think the areas for the child to feel were large enough. The sticky candy in Max's pajamas is just about the size of a child's fingertip, the lace curtain is just a thin slip of fabric, the lightning is a skinny zig-zag of foil and the "cookie crumbs" sandpaper is only about a quarter-inch high. There are other touch-and-feel books that provide a much larger exploratory surface. Still, this book does contain a good variety (sticky candy, rough crumbs, fur, smelly sock, etc.)I'm not sure why, but that smelly sock always seems to be such a hit!

Shower Gift.......2007-06-28
This is a great little book for first-time parents. It is a good size to include with your gift. It is meant for adults, but is simple enough to begin reading to the baby at a very early age. Little ones will love the pictures before they can understand the words. Read it often so the child will learn books hold stories and delight.
My Bunny hated this book.......2007-04-09
This book was terrible. Didn't hold either of my son's attention. Barely held mine.
Read to Your Bunny.......2006-07-05
I thought this would be a nice book for a baby gift but it was really too preachy and aimed at parents not children. I returned the book.
great learn to read book.......2006-03-18
Rosemary Wells has done it again!!! This book encourages you to read to your children and soon they can read the book back to you. The illustrations are top notch. My daughter checked it out from the library so many times we realized she needed a copy of her own. I'm sure she will treasure it and enjoy reading it to her own children.
Delightful...with a very strong and urgent message.......2001-03-13
This book should be on every expectant parents list!
It is beautifully illustrated and written in simple language, yet it carries a powerful message. Reading is a wonderful way of sharing a part of our busy lives with our children, and it only "costs twenty minutes and a library card". Rosemary Wells also includes a two-page message to parents at the end of the book that tells us how and why we should should reserve a special time and place for reading activities with our children.
The message in this book will stay with you long after you finish it...It can serve as a daily reminder and as a daily source of encouragement as we lure our children into the magical world of reading.
A truly wonderful book....

On a Fourth of July picnic with his human family, McDuff, a beloved but trouble-mongering white terrier, inadvertently allows "silent invaders" (namely, ants) to make off with the entire contents of the lunch basket. Luckily, McDuff has a way with strangers (and their picnic baskets), and in no time flat, he's finagled an invitation from a lonely older man to share his meal with the family.
Rosemary Wells and Susan Jeffers's series about the earnest pooch and his expanding community of friends and family harkens back to quainter days, when baby carriers were buckled into cars with leather straps and kind gentlemen didn't mind sharing their fried chicken and devil's food cake with strangers. Jeffers's inviting paintings of 1930s cars and fashions, and of course the little white dog himself, are warm and appealing. Readers who loved McDuff Goes to School and McDuff's New Friend will enjoy this summery entry in the series. (Ages 3 to 5) --Emilie Coulter

McDuff Saves the Day.......2007-07-05
As with all 'McDuff' stories, this book is very well drawn, and a child could tell it to an adult based on the pictures in the book, after the child had heard the story a few times. It is charmng, friendly telling of a fun family outing. All McDuff books would be good in daycares for story time!
A Dog's Life: Everything Goes McDuff's Way!.......2005-01-31
McDuff, the irrepressible White Highland Terrier, joins owners Fred, Lucy, and their little baby for a traditional Fourth of July picnic in this immensely satisfying book. Susan Jeffers' beautiful rich colors, blend of comic strip panels and large-format pictures, and attention to period accuracy convincingly portray the post-war patriotism, hope, and economic prosperity of the late 1940's and early 1950's. Her drawings evoke Norman Rockwell, Boy Scout magazines, and the woodblock pictures that graced early children's books, and they are a major factor in the book's huge appeal.
Rosemary Wells once again writes a McDuff series book with humor, warmth, and just a bit of mischief, qualities found in her famous "Max and Ruby" series (e.g., "Max's Dragon Shirt"). There's Lucy and Rick tomfoolery in the opening scenes as McDuff and Fred keep switching seats during the drive. Finally:
"Fred had to sit in the backseat with the baby and the chicken. 'He always gets the front seat in the end,' said Fred. McDuff stretched out in the front seat and fell into a sausage-squirrel dream."
Wells and Jeffers also pull off a clever perspective switch as we see McDuff's version of how the picnic disappeared. In McDuff's version, marauding ants "penetrated the picnic basket by the hundreds. In a few short minutes, the picnic was gone." We see five ants (only 5!) ferreting away a sandwich, and organized, orderly lines of ants absconding with cookies, candy, and cupcakes. Jeffers, as masterful with facial expressions as with large-scale compositions, shows McDuff conveniently looking away, trying hard to look innocent.
And just how does McDuff save the day? By eating the meatballs of neighboring picnicker Mr. DiMaggio. (The authors go a little heavy on an Italian stereotype here.) After DiMaggio yells for help, the family joins him in a generously shared, copious lunch. As now expected from the ever-fortunate dog, McDuff gets a turkey-and tomato sandwich out of it! A glorious fireworks display ends this idyllic Fourth, as Fred, once again, winds up in the front seat. This is an exceptional book, with outstanding pictures, imaginative humor, and a gentle but compelling narrative.
Wells' adorable Westie is a day saver........2003-07-02
I really enjoyed reading this book to 16 preschoolers at the Festus Public Library in Festus, Missouri. As a storytime book, McDuff Saves the Day makes for a fun and entertaining read. The artwork and story are beautiful and creative. The plot is charming, simple and realistic, giving McDuff (a fluffy white Westie) a perfect opportunity to be the cute dog that he is. This is my first McDuff story and I thouroughly enjoyed it. All dog lovers should have this in their children's book collection.
In this adventure, McDuff celebrates the Fourth of July with his family: Lucy, Fred and the baby. A perfect day for a picnic turns into a series of mishaps that leaves the family without a picnic and a cranky baby. By the end of the story, McDuff has found a way to have a picnic and make a new friend. Fred still complains though, because McDuff always gets to ride in the front.
Woa! This book will blow you away!.......2003-04-10
I love this book! I like when McDuff has to sit by the baby then on Lucy's lap and then Fred has to sit in the back seat and McDuff sits in front. My name is Fred and Fred's name is Fred!Mcduff steals everyone's picnic because his picnic was stolen by ants. He steals a man's food so Lucy and Fred come eat with the man and the man isn't lonely and Lucy and Fred get food and watch fire works!
A fun and zany tale.......2002-08-05
Rosemary Wells and Susan Jeffers' McDuff Saves The Day takes place on July 4th and tells of the bouncy dog's plans to celebrate. McDuff's ride in the family car is particularly hilarious and realistic as he bounces between seats, baby, and chicken versus marrowbone. A fun and zany tale.

There should be a law that requires every child to sit on Grandpa's knee as he chants "Trot, trot, to Boston; trot, trot, to Lynn." Grownups who still giggle at the thought of Little Jack Horner pulling a plum out of his Christmas pie, or who make a wish on a star, murmuring "Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight" know the secret. They're the ones who will be handing down those same nursery rhymes to their own children, preserving an age-old tradition. But no child should be left behind.
In world folklore authority Iona Opie's collection, these invaluable and ancient nuggets of childhood verse are bursting with new life. Quirky and sly, sweet, gentle, rollicking, silly... the range of rhymes is breathtaking. Winner of over a dozen prestigious awards, including a Parents' Choice Award and an ALA Notable Children's Book award, this wonderful book is charmingly illustrated by Rosemary Wells, best known for her Max books (Max's Bath, Max's Bedtime, Max's Ride). A solid repertoire of nursery rhymes should be de rigueur for any aunt, uncle, grandparent, or parent worth his or her salt. This book is a must, as is its companion volume, Here Comes Mother Goose. Book Description
To a small child, words are magical. And the most magical of all are the beloved, venerable words of Mother Goose. Now folklorist Iona Opie has gathered more than sixty treasured rhymes in their most perfect, honest form. From "Hey Diddle, Diddle" and "Pat-a-Cake" to "Little Jack Horner" and "Pussycat, Pussycat," these are familiar verses that have been passed from parent to child for generations; these are the rhymes that are every child's birthright.
With watercolors by Rosemary Wells that may prove equally enduring, MY VERY FIRST MOTHER GOOSE captures the simple joy and the sly humor that are the essence of Mother Goose. Parents and children will find themselves exploring this volume together, savoring delightful details and funny surprises on every page. This is a book that promises hours of quiet smiles and merry grins for readers of all ages.

A family favorite!.......2007-07-21
When my kids were small, I went into a "Mother Goose" kick. I bought and checked out from the Library every Mother Goose I could find, we read them all, and THIS was by far our favorite. The selection of poems was varied, with old favorites and new poems I'd never heard from my childhood as well. The illustrations are beautiful and very fun, Rosemary Wells knows just how kids minds work!
My very favorite Mother Goose book.......2007-01-26
Publisher's Weekly called this book "exuberant" and that's exactly the right word for it. Bright primary colors make up this book, and Rosemary Wells' adorable characters populate the rhymes. Unlike some Mother Goose books, this one is meaty -- it boasts 108 pages, with a rhyme on almost every page. That's a lot of nights of Mother Goose at bedtime.
Nursery rhymes help build phonological awareness, an important pre-reading skill. Research has actually shown that children who memorize nursery rhymes go on to become better readers than those who do not.
This book makes a great baby gift, and a terrific birthday or holiday gift for a toddler or preschooler. It's the one I grab first when I recommend nursery rhymes to library visitors.
Most of the good mother goose rhymes but..........2006-11-19
This has most of the good mother goose rhymes, but isn't the rhyme- hickory dickory dock- not dickory, dickory dock? That one rhyme seems to be misspelled. Everything else is good. SOme of the ryhmes I've never heard of, but they seem to be the old English ones.
Mom's favorite "big" book.......2006-10-23
Of the larger books I read to my daughter (now 7 months), I grab this one most often. Each rhyme has such unique illustrations that I spend extra time on each page pointing out the images to my daughter. Many of the characters are adorable. The book is long enough that we get through only a fraction of the book at each sitting, yet it's not so heavy as some larger books. Many of the nursery rhymes are unfamiliar to me, which also makes it interesting for me.
Enchants my 2-year-old every day, for 30-45 minutes.......2006-03-16
My son first latched on to this Mother Goose collection at about 21 months, and for the last 3 months, we've read the whole thing through nearly every day. He'll spend 30 or 45 mintues with me, reading the rhymes, enjoying the songs (there are several for which the tunes are fairly well known), and looking forward to the ones such as "patty cake" which have a game attached to them. While he's got a pretty decent attention span for his age, this is by far the activity he'll do for the longest time. He's starting to learn the rhymes himself now, and it's become a very participatory activity to read it with him. I'm enjoying it tremendously, with the warm and fuzzy, family-celebrating illustrations, the inclusion of many of my childhood favorites, and some old rhymes which are new to me, and very charming (Wibbleton to Wobbleton, for example, and The Big Ship Sails on the Alley, Alley Oh). I've hidden the other Mother Goose collections we were given as gifts, because I find this by far the most appealing, in its choices of rhymes and songs, the charm of its illustrations, and its uncrowded layouts which don't squeeze too much text onto the pages.

My girls' favorite book.......2007-06-27
wonderful...awesome...wasn't sure if I'd be able to replace the one that was lost and I did!! Thanks Amazon!!
She loves it.......2001-12-01
This was given to me as a baby shower gift for my 5 month old, but my 2 year old has taken it as her own. Her favorite part is at the end when it says "Again!" So we read it again and again.
Where is the spider?.......2001-05-19
I got this book for my baby daughter because she loves the song. I figured the spider would be fairly prominently placed in the illustrations. Yes, it is there, but really really tiny. The goose, instead fills most of the picture.
Also, if you plan to do the hand signs while you read/sing the text, the really short phrasing on each page makes it very hard -- because just when you'd want to do the hand sign; "rain" for example... you're supposed to be turning a page... down came the rain (turn) and washed the spider out (turn)
I also don't like the extra "Again" they paste onto the end of the song. "Climbed up the spout again" and then there is an additional paged that says "Again."
I don't think it was worth the money, and I wish I hadn't purchased this version.
Still being read after 18 months.......2001-01-03
My three and a half year old is still reading this book every night in bed after more than 18 months. And we usually have to read it at least three times due to the last word of the book which is "Again!". The words are few and big so we have also been looking at the individual letters every now and then. The pictures, too, are simple and captivating - and beautifully drawn by someone with obvious talent. The magic part is, that the "bunny reads back" concept which Ms. Wells has had clearly in mind from the outset, really works with these books.
The itsy bitsy spider--again, and again!.......2000-03-31
This book is a great deal of fun to read with preschoolers. My 4-yr-old reads along each page while we sing the rhyme. Each page has just enough words on it, not too many to be overwhelming. The illustrations are classic, engaging Rosemary Wells. I also have a 2-yr-old who "reads" along too--thank goodness for it being a board book! We have many books by Ms. Wells in the house. It is nice that there is something for everyone, from the 8-yr-old to the 2-yr-old. Indeed, she encourages even the youngest Bunnies to read back with this book.

Max is an irresistibly cute but persistent little bunny who wants what he wants when he wants it--any parent with an active toddler will relate. And like most little kids, Max thinks the grass is always greener on the other side; to be more precise, he's sure the toy someone else is playing with is much more interesting. Max's interaction du jour is with his older sister, Ruby, who has a particularly attractive doll. Of course, Max wants that doll and will go to any lengths to get it. Who do you think will win this one? A funny tale of how children give and take in play, Max's Toys doubles as a first counting book: the doll is the one thing Ruby won't part with, and all Max has to barter is a house with two chimneys, three soldiers, four bears, and so on. Measuring 7 inches square, this colorful, sturdy board book is easy for small children to handle. Rosemary Wells's delightful Max books are virtually guaranteed to please the little Max in your life. (Baby to preschool) --Marianne Painter
Book Description
In this first counting book, Max trades his house with 2 chimneys, 3 soldiers, 4 bears, and all the rest of his toys for Ruby's 1 lovely doll, Emily. A fair exchange! Rosemary Wells's original four Max Board Books, published in 1979 by Dial and followed by an additional four in 1985, were the first high-quality board books in the U.S. and became immediate classics. Total sales of the eight books were over 1.2 million! But more important, they have been loved by millions of children. For the next generation Rosemary Wells has now completely re-illustrated all eight delightful Max books in her bold, new full-color style. These wonderful stories with real characters are funnier than ever. They are terrific first books, especially with the increased focus on the importance of reading to babies and toddlers, a cause that Mrs. Wells has been wholeheartedly promoting for several years with her The Most Important 20 Minutes of Your Day reading program and now the Prescription for Reading Initiative.

Because my []son does the same exact things. Sherbert in the tub, favorite shirts, worm cakes...he does it all. This book is a fantastic buy for your [] boy or girl.
cute counting book with abrupt ending.......2003-05-02
Max wants Ruby's doll, Emily, but Ruby will not part with her. Max has a house with 2 chimneys, 3 soldiers, 4 bears, etc. but all he wants is Emily.
This is a cute counting book, especially for fans of this charming brother-sister bunny duo. But the ending is rather abrupt and always leaves my child wondering what happens next.
Great Book!.......2003-04-06
This a good book for any child of all ages to read. I am only 15 and I love Max. I watch the show whenever I can. I am proof that you can never be too old for things that are considered to be only for children. Parents or relatives that have or know a child, this is a very good book that is funny and has good pictures.
wonderful on many levels.......2002-01-14
My 13-month-old son has loved the pictures in this book since he was a tiny infant. He still loves the book. The story is very sweet, and it quite stands alone - unlike some other counting books, which have no "plot" aside from the numbers. I also appreciate that the boy-rabbit Max is shown to want a doll and that his sister (ultimately) thinks Max's trucks, soldiers, etc. are desirable toys.
I love to give this book as a new-baby gift. It is a delight!
Max's Toys.......2000-06-22
Our son Max loves to help the bunny Max count his toys. The illustrations catch his attention, and he enjoys finding the different toys in the pile on the last page.

That's My Book!.......2007-07-07
This is one of the first Usborne Books I bought for my family, way before I became a consultant for the company. My youngest loved it. The text is rhythmic, the touchy-feely aspect is very attractive to babies and toddlers and there is a mouse on each page for your child to point out. This series is great for vocabulary development, especially those adjectives. For a long while my child would say "that's not my ... " in many situations such as in the parking lot going to our car. "That's not my car, it's too blue." "That's not my car, it's too big." It became a very enjoyable game for us! I call these the "potato chip" books because you can't have just one!
Usborne books are great.......2006-09-19
This is a book my 16 month old daughter asks for time and again by saying choo choo...She can now say words like rusty, glossy, and rough from reading this book and touching the textures. A great "learning to talk" aid.
Best baby book.......2006-07-27
This is my son's favorite book. I started reading it to him when he was about 3 months old and he still loves it at 9 months. (When his toddler friends visit, they read right along too.) The simple but bright graphics really hold his attention and he now loves to feel the different textures on each page. This was such a hit that we now own That's Not My...: Train, Tractor, Dinosaur, Puppy and Teddy Bear!
exceptionally well made board book.......2001-09-29
My nine-month old loves this book--he spends a lot of time just flipping through the pages and checking out the different textures. Very simple text is balanced by very sturdy, brightly colored pages. Slightly larger than most board books, too. It's a great deal for the price.
Bright bold colors and great textures!.......2001-01-02
Board book is a terrific book for very young children. My three year old reads it to my nine month old! Graphics and colors are great; use of repeative verse is perfect for the very young, ie. "that's not my train it's ...A must have for a little one's library.

Book Description
It's raining outside, but all Max wants to do is play baseball. So his big sister Ruby struggles to get him into his rain gear: red boots, yellow slicker, and orange rain hat. But see what happens when Max is finally all dressed! Kids will love this fun board book that teaches colors and features shiny foil raindrops on the cover.
Customer Reviews:
Good for toddlers.......2007-01-21
Another adorable story. Probably would not be very interesting to older children (over age 3) since it is a short, simple story about basic colors.
A Colorful Splash of Laughter!.......2004-07-15
My daughters - a preschooler and a toddler - gravitate to Max and Ruby like magnets. The board book Ruby's Rainy Day proved no exception. Shiny foil raindrops splash across the book cover. Lively rainbow colors brighten the ten sturdy pages inside. The story itself is an abridged version of a comical episode on TV's Nickelodeon. Little brother Max wants to go outside to play "Baseball!" Big sister Ruby insists they both don layer after layer of rain gear first. Your child can learn colors while laughing at the antics of these lovable rabbits.
My little boy loves it........2004-07-08
Maybe it's the sparkly raindrops, maybe it's the vibrant colors, or maybe it's the size... at 7 months of age it's hard to tell what it is my little boy loves about this book. One thing's for sure, he loves it! When he's old enough I expect the repetition in the dialogue will be a winner and the themes featuring color and sequence will keep him fascinated. Me, I love the little joke at the end and of course watching his delight in this book.
