Book Description
Every life form is made up of vibrations that coincide with the harmonic frequency to which all life is attuned. The vibrations of the body easily go out of tune when a person is exposed to physical or emotional stress. VIBRATIONAL HEALING THROUGH THE CHAKRAS provides the most up-to-date information on the use of vibrational tools such as crystals, aromas, sounds, bodywork, and homeopathy to help the body remember its own healthy harmonic resonance. Author Joy Gardner offers this in-depth look at vibrational healing for people interested in improving their own health and well-being, as well as those who want to become practitioners of this gentle art. Explore how to use vibrations to release old dysfunctional patterns in the body-mind and replace them with new patterns that resonate with the body's own healthy frequencies.

Vibrational healing through the chakras.......2007-10-04
Great book. You need to own this book. Gardner has really done her homework. I was amazed how much info is in this book. I actually started in the middle of the book, read a few chapters and now I have started from the front. I have learned a lot of new things, and things I didn't even think about. The only thing I disagree on is where Gardner wrote about Sundances. Perhaps the dances she has been to do no pierce but I have seen piercing and know many who do pierce. Other than that the book in a AA+ in my book. You will not be disappointed in the book.
Packed with Info.......2007-09-06
This book is loaded with very useful information. I've referred several people to it for a variety of reasons.
It is sort of a clearing house for a number of healing modalities so it's useful as an overview. It doesn't offer in-depth information on any of the subjects covered, but has many references for further reading and research.
I would catagorize this book as a starting point if one is wanting to learn about healing with light and color, sound, crystals or aromatherapy.
Best Book EVER in Vibrational Energy.......2006-11-12
This is a all in one compendium of Vibrational Energy healing techniques. The author has a candid way to relate emotional defiant feelings and also reviews all the technical knowledge behind the facts in a "oh so simple language". I've already recommended it to 4 other friends (2 of which are healers). I love this book and I love you Joy!!!!
Thank you giving us as a gift, a share of your knowledge!!!
Vibrational Healing.......2006-04-25
Joy Gardner does not just write about the various healing modalities - she has spent a lifetime working with them. Vibrational Healing Through the Chakras is the result of Gardner's years of study, steadfast research, and working with her clients. An open mind, and an open heart, have served her well on her journey, which has included work as an herbalist, crystal healer, death and loss counselor, sound and aromatherapy healer.
Gardner starts out by stating that all of life - animate and inanimate - is, by nature, vibration. The human body is made up of a series of frequencies that form a harmonic and balanced whole when a person is healthy. Physical or emotional stress alters the bodies vibrational nature. The nature of vibrational healing is to help the body remember its healthy vibrational state. Healers use a combination of modalities to help their clients understand the underlying cause of their dis-ease, to release the energies that need to be released, and to realign their energy bodies.
Our chakra system acts as the "control center" for our energy systems. When the chakras are balanced, our bodies experience their natural harmonic resonance, and we experience a state of good health. The ideal is for all seven chakras to be open and balanced, with no one chakra operating in an "in charge" mode, unless it was so indicated (and this would be for a limited time period). Gardner presents excellent background information on vibrational therapy, including work by people like Nobel biochemist Ilya Prigogine, neurophysiology and psychology teacher Dr. Valerie Hunt.
It is interesting to read Gardner's discussion of the chakra system, which can be found incorporated into many different cultures. Reading this book was like taking a walk back in time for me, with names like Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, Barbara Ann Brennon and other researchers/healers peppering the pages. The placement of the chakras, the parts of the body that they govern, their spinning nature and color associations are all presented in a very straightforward manner.
Each modality is covered in its own section, for easy reference. In the section on light, color and frequencies Gardner begins with the statement that every sound we hear is filter through the three primary sounds of our nerves, muscles and blood. Everything that we see is filtered through our personal electromagnetic aura. There is an excellent in depth section presented on the electromagnetic spectrum, and how it functions. One of the things that I found very interesting in this chapter was how important sunlight is to us, and how important it is to not wear any form of glasses when we are in sunlight, unless we must. Cellular response to both light and color is also addressed here.
In the section on color, Gardner begins by commenting on the ability of color to bring joy into our lives. (Conversely, in the well documented area of SAD, lack of sunlight has been shown to have the ability to bring on depression.) Color healing has as its goal the strengthening of each color in our aura. Working with color-charged water (something so simple that I had never even heard of, or thought of!), and the use of specific colors in specific areas of the face (which acts as a microcosm of the body) are only a couple of the ways that Gardner presents for placing color in our lives.
Healing with voice (sound) is something that I have worked with myself, and was one of my favorite chapters. Mystics from many cultures agree upon the absolute power of sound. Sound has a very spiritual connotation - it carries the history of a people through their song and dance, a venue that to our discredit we are allowing to fade away. Toning, sounding, or what is termed the "primal scream" is on way of releasing bent-up energy from our bodies (energies that are being held in our muscles and bones). Through systematic abdominal breathing, we can easily clear and ground our systems. I am definitely a chart person, and there is an excellent chart at the end of this chapter associating the seven chakras with specific colors, notes and tones.
In the section on aromatherapy, Gardner goes into the spiritual and magical uses of aromas, such as burning incense or wearing perfume. Essential oils carry specific frequencies, which can be used as aids in healing. One of the things that I appreciated about this chapter was the precautions about the use of essential oils - how to best use them, and when not to use them. Recipes are given for creating oils for specific use, such as the prevention of fleas in animals and the removal of odors, as well as for healing.
In the section on healing with crystals, Gardner goes into the spiritual and cultural use of crystals, which include healing as well as acting as carriers for wisdom. (In my practice as a Tarot reader, I have my clients hold rose quartz crystal during their readings. It acts to open their hearts to the reading, it acts to protect them, and to carry the wisdom from the reading home with them.) I loved the lists that were presented for building a Beginners Kit, and a Crystal Healer's kit. There is also a common sense view on cleaning/clearing crystals, and their use as jewelry (with some interesting indications on when NOT to wear certain stones). Basic layouts are presented for working with clients and crystals for healing/balancing, and with crystals in association with specific chakras.
At the end of the book is a comprehensive glossary and recommended reading list.
Between the hard line research presented here, and the stories Gardner shares from her own life, and from her clients lives, this is an excellent book. A good place to start when investigating vibrational healing, and a good book to have for reference purposes. Students of all levels will find this material interesting, and easy to place into use in their lives.
Book Description
This distinguished organic chemist shares his in depth knowledge of the particular current value of essential oils, for health on all levels. In an era when Western allopathic medicine has less and less appeal, this self-care method is a potent alternative, with roots going back to ancient times. In the flood of "coffee table" aromatherapy books currently available, this is a much needed and welcome source for those truly interested in taking responsiblity for their own health.

Teaches you so much.......2006-02-28
This book is not for the folks who want to just make Blends.
Its for people who want to know the science behind the oils. What groups each oil belongs in. Which is something everyone must know when blending. You need to know what oils to use if you do not have a certain oil on hand. Plus Kurt has the science down. Reading this book all the way thru will teach you how to use the oils.
So many books out there on blends, but what are you blending?
Kurts book called Advance Aromatherapy is wonderful to. I love both books and have learn so MUCH more then I ever could from other books.
I have learned how to deal with viruses , in depth.
If you are serious about this subject, both of Kurts books are a MUST HAVE.
Scientific Aromatherapy.......2006-01-30
This book continues from where a lot of books on aromatherapy left out. For those of us who are curious about how essential oils actually work, this book provides all the scientific principles. Unlike a lot of other books which merely tell us what the function of the oils are, this book not only goes in depth into the mechanics of aromatherapy, it also provides some revolutionary ideas on the use of essential oils. For practitioners with a science background, this book provides plenty of convincing and credible reasons for the use of aromatherapy in the treatment of various ailments.
However, I'm disappointed with the first half of the book which is overly "political" and has definitely gone overboard in its attack of the medical profession. Skip all that and start from the middle of the book.

Medical Aromatherapy.......2005-12-27
Compared to innumerable other excellent books on the subject aromatherapy, Schnaubelt's book comes up distinctly short on helpful data. For the book to be truly helpful, one must be experienced in the use of oils, and if experienced, the book is all-bar-useless given the dearth of detailed information. It's a snapshot only and, therefore, not useful as a book of reference. Not recommended I'm afraid.
Does not address actual uses for essential oils.......2004-06-19
The book concentrates mainly on the chemical breakdown of various common essential oils, and does not go into any kind of depth on the use of oils. It does not address the title: Healing with Essential Oils. I found it useless and returned it. The Complete Book of Essential Oils and Aromatherapy is a much better text. Also consult Valnet's books for better information.
Medical Aromatherapy: Healing with Essential Oils.......2002-12-19
This book, while loaded with plenty of technical info, LACKS plain, straightforward healing.
A FEW HOURS searching ON-LINE WILL GET YOU THE SAME MEDICAL INFO, WITHOUT WEEDING THRU HUNDREDS OF PAGES OF SCIENTIFIC JARGIN!
Also purchased the oils they are connected with - my experience was the WORST! My adult business experience spans decades and i can say i will never do business with them EVER. They charge the most of any company for oil - there goes the theory "you get what you pay for".

Depends what you're looking for.......2007-07-04
If you're seeking a book that culminates much of the already available information in one place, this book could be good for you. It provides guidance on suggested blends for various ailments of a more spiritual nature. The reason I have given this a 3 star rating is because this is not what I was after. For me, a book of this kind hopefully gives you the tools to make your own evaluations of formulae and the 'grass roots' to do it all yourself. I was looking for a book that provided guidance that all the other aromatherapy books do not - it didn't. If you have a general aromatherapy book, or one of the other Worwood books, this one won't add much marginal benefit.
Not like her other books........2007-05-23
Although somewhat informative it did not contain the recipes I was looking for like the ones in her "The Complete Book of Essential Oils & Aromatherapy" which I've used so much it has the scents of many essential oils amongst its pages.
Exploring links between spirituality and aromatherapy.......2006-10-15
Fragrances contain unique properties which can not only heal, but evoke emotions memories and even visions: while much discussion revolves around healing, Aromatherapy for the Soul: Healing the Spirit with Fragrance and Essential Oils focuses more on the psyche, with chapters exploring links between spirituality and aromatherapy. It previously appeared as THE FRAGRANT HEAVENS: its new title promises a wider audience.

something different about essential oils.......2007-03-17
There are three main sections in this book. The first gives an overview of Traditional Medicine principles. The second part gives a detailed description of the most common essential oils and their effects, not like any aromatherapy book because it incorporates the Chinese Medicine principles as heating, warming, cooling, yin and yang...There is an indication on how to use the oils on some major Chinese acupuncture points. The third part deals with some ailments related to the mind ill health
It is a very different book indeed, and as an Aromatherapist working with cases of stress and anxiety , I am very glad to have added it to my bookshelf.
I already knew that the same oil work differently on different people, now I know why!
Thanks for Amazon, their fast delivery and their huge choice
Gem of a book.......2007-01-07
This is one of those rare books that surpassed my expectations. This is not your typical aromatherapy book and this book contains practically no recipes (it has just a few). What you'll find in this book is about 40 of the most-popular aromatherapy essential oils brought to life. The author does this successfully by looking at the essential oils from the perspective of the Chinese five-elements, and by juxtaposing the essential oils with archetypes from mythology, religion and astrology, helping you to experience the "personality" of each essential oil.
The author goes over some common psychological and emotional issues that people experience and suggests which essential oils may be most suitable. The book also contains a couple of illustrated pages related to applying massage and accupressure.
aomatherapy for healing the spirit.......2006-11-01
a lovely book and a deep look at how aromatherapy can heal emotions
beautifully written
i would recommend this book highly
One of the most unique books on aromatherapy available.......2006-03-21
This is definitely one of my favorite books on aromatherapy, as it includes not only fairly exhaustive information regarding a variety of essential oils and their effects on mood but how these EOs relate to astrology, mythology and Chinese philosophy. The book also discusses various techniques employed in using oils and offers clear verbal and visual descriptions of massage techniques. All in all, I think it's a fascinating and lovely book (there are quite a few full color photographs and drawings). My only complaint, which isn't much of a complaint, is that Mojay covered "only" 40 oils. His descriptions of the oils were so intriguing that I would love to see him publish a completely comprehensive work.
Well-written.......2006-03-03
This book was well-written, and gives a nice overview of the Chinese view of the elements and yin and yang. It uses this information as a basis of how to achieve balance and determine which oils will have the best effect. The book covers a wide range of commonly available essential oils in good detail, including the elements that rule them and both physical and psychological applications. The book's biggest shortcoming was it's index. I feel that it should have been more in-depth and have included more of the physical conditions that are listed in each oil's description so that it would be easier to find which oils treat which disorders.

Among the Best.......2007-06-10
We have several books on aromatherapy, and rate this book as among the best of them. We like the ease at which we can find what we are looking for, and the simplicity yet effectiveness of the suggestions given in this book.
AROMATHERAPY.......2007-02-22
This is the BEST Aromatherapy book I have ever read!!! This is a must read for everyone interested in Aromatherapy.
A wonderful and informative book.......2007-01-16
I gave this book to my sister as a gift. I own a copy as well. This book is one of my treasures and I use it often.
Excellent guide.......2005-10-28
This book gets 4 stars instead of 5 simply because it doesn't cover much history of essential oils, or really their creation and how they're made, or essential oils by themselves in detail. What it does do is cover a huge variety of conditions and beauty regimens with detail, then with an arsenal of EO combinations, and much more. It's a delight to read, even if it is a bit on the serious side, delving deeply into the world of aromatherapy. The author obviously holds these gems in high regard, making much use of her time by detailing personal experiences, ideas, theories, and reasons for her motivations.
It really is very good - if you're in the market for a great introduction filled with recipes, advice, and information, it's a good place to look. However, if you want to know more, it's better to accompany it with another, fuller guide in the future.
Oil on the pages, herbs stuck in the binding..........2004-02-04
...this book has been abused, beaten and much loved. As someone who loves working with oils, essences, herbs and the like, I have to say this book is among my top two! Whenver a healing blend is needed, I find myself reaching for this book first. The easy language makes it accessible even to my partner, who barely dabbles in these things. The herbal tea blends included are phenomenal. The blends translate well to massage oils, room scenting oils, soaps and candles, you name it!
If you a a magical person looking to get into blending, put this volume next to your Cunningham!

A wonderful wealth of wisdom!.......2001-02-01
I was not very familiar with aromatherapy when I first read this book. Then, as I did more research, I realized that this power-packed volume contains everything that either a novice or experienced aromatherapist needs to know. From how aromatherapy works to how essentials oils are extracted, from safety and toxicity to a complete Materia Medica -- it's all here, and more! Ericksen clearly knows of what she speaks. She wisely guides the reader through the use and storage of essential oils, covering nearly every application, including aromatherapy for children, the frail or elderly, common ailments, and women's needs. There are countless recipes, a glossary, and a list of resources. You will come away from this book feeling that you know what you are doing and are ready to treat your (or your friends' and loved ones') specific conditions with confidence. Although not a big book, it is encyclopedic in its scope of information. Healing With Aromoatherapy is not a book to collect dust on your shelf -- you'll use it and refer to it endlessly.

Customer Reviews:
An alright book but not my style.......2005-10-27
It is never advertised on this book that so much of it deals with a unique spiritual outlook, such as with chakras, mind and body connections, and such. Because reading the back of the book, the front of it, or even in the title never lets the reader know this, I have to drop a point just for that alone. Usually it's clear if I'm buying a book just on herbalism, or on TCM, Ayurveda, etc....it should have been said here as well. Furthermore they didnt jump into the book right. It starts right off with the chakras as if the reader has already been given a few chapters before and just never read them.
Text is easy to understand and, while not written badly, it's clear Kroeger was more of a healer than a writer. Chapters are broken up rather abruptly and without warning -- the same as their introductions.
Besides the unusual healing outlook, I did enjoy several things about this book. For one, the healing hands chapter speaks of some interesting things. While not all of them make sense to me, they are unique and worth reading about it. Curious on the nervous breakdowns and fallen arches, for example. Emotions is a chapter I did have issues with, as I never saw jealousy causing lung troubles, etc, my mind doesn't wrap around this. I'm not putting down anyone's beliefs that DO, but really - no warning on this before buying the book?? The inner organ chapter was a saver, but overall just not my cup of tea.
Chapter fifteen is the "home remedies" This is all put in a simple table that lasts for pages and pages of the book. Simple: Health issue, then vitamin minerals box, then finally Spices/Herbs/Kitchen Aids reading straight across. It's all jotted this way without words for sentences. This is the herbal remedies and recommendations. How .... enlightening. There is obviously not enough to room to really list WHY the remedies are there, what she's seen happen with them, etc, etc, just a jot down of what to do.
This 'Table' lasts from 113 to 291.
Really I do admire Hanna Kroeger, she was an amazing woman and healer. This book, though, is not something I'd recommend to anybody. It does have a large amount of information, but on what exactly I don't really know at all times. Some of the info is scanty at best, and the quick jotted home remedies in a table with only 3 sections across sadly isn't what I expected.
If you are a fan of Kroeger, read this book, but otherwise pick something else up.
Best book of home remedies!.......2003-11-13
I would recommend any book written by Hanna Kroeger, but this one is absolutely essential to anyone interested in natural healing. In the introductory chapters, the author gives a description of the physical organs and subtle bodies and how to use the natural magnetic and electric powers of our bodies to heal ourselves and others. This sort of healing might be compared to what is most commonly known as "Reiki." The bulk of the book is a reference of diseases and disorders with herbs, vitamins and minerals that heal the specific conditions. This book is invaluable. I refer to it a few times a week. If you only own one book of home remedies, let it be this one.
