4 out of 5 stars Great organizer for a first time mom!.......2007-09-23

This organizer is good at reminding me all the tasks I need to accomplish prior to my baby's arrival. I also love the registry items list. This is my first time as a mom and I admit, I'm a bit clueless of all the things I need. This book helps me identify the most essential items that I will need.

5 out of 5 stars Great planner!.......2007-09-18

This is a great pregnancy planner/ journal. This is my first baby and I find the different sections about important questions to ask everyone from your doctor, insurance company, pediatrician, childcare all very helpful for a first time mom. The areas to record info from your doctor visits is great, too. I also like the section about what you absolutely need for your new baby and the "extras". Good little planner and I definitely like that the cover is very neutral and mod looking-- not all frilly. I do wish there were pockets on the front and back inside covers, but it's still a great planner!!!

3 out of 5 stars No journal pages.......2007-09-15

I like the book. Lots of info and nice layout, only I wish there were blank journal pages to record certain events. Great check list for hospital and baby preparation.

5 out of 5 stars Love the organizer!.......2007-08-31

Very neatly laid out. Great details that I might forget. Great sections. Cute design.

4 out of 5 stars Great organizer.......2007-08-15

There is a ton of info you can record to organize now and even keep later as a momento. My only complaint: It has one clear page to store things. I wish it had flap pockets on the front and back cover or more than one clear page to store more items if you wish, such as sonogram pictures or other pictures. Otherwise, it is a fantastic organizer/planner!

5 out of 5 stars WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOUR EXPECTING.......2007-09-21

It was purchased for my daughter-in-law. They are expecting their first child. She loves the book. It is and will be very helpful thru the next 7 months. She loves looking at the size of the baby as it grows. I would recomend it for any new to be Mom. It's a great gift for anyone you know who is expecting.

5 out of 5 stars Invaluable during pregnancy!.......2007-09-21

I purchased this organizer for my first pregnancy and knew right away with my second pregnancy that I would buy it again! It is so helpful to have all my information in one place. It allows you to write in insurance information, doctor's contact information, results from tests, pregnancy wellness exams and much, much more. It really is invaluable! I loved looking back at my first pregnancy organizer and reminding myself of everything that occurred. There are other pregnancy organizers on the market, but I think this one is the most detailed.

4 out of 5 stars Very handy! .......2007-08-21

I was mid pregnancy when they came out with the revised version of the organizer. I like the new version much better. It was very helpful for all of my questions I had as a first time mom. I highly recommend this book for any one who likes to keep things organized and want one place to keep track of all of their pregnancy needs. I will defiantly buy one again for my next pregnancy.

4 out of 5 stars Could be better, but I still love mine.......2007-07-18

I have 4 kids and one of these for each of them. They made keeping track of what questions I had for the doc, weight changes, allowed meds, etc a lot easier. I don't think (as a first time mom) that I would've known just what to write down. As I've gone along with other pregnancies, I've learned to be more detailed in my writing and now go back to past journals as reference materials. Just when did heartburn kick in? When did I get to the point when I had trouble sleeping or rolling over?

The cons, as other reviewers have noted, mainly have to do with the layout. It's just not as easily accessible as it could be. I dealt with this by getting reusable sticky page markers and wrote the most important sections down: OB Appointments, Journal area, etc. Another beef I had was that there weren't quite enough slots for the appointments for me. There were periods when I had more frequent visits than usual and I ended up having to write on the reverse side of the previous page. If you have a difficult pregnancy, this may be an issue. Also, they only give you a small square for each week of journaling. I had way more to write than I had space and ended up writing very tiny to squeeze it all in.

Keep a pencil with it with a book/magazine to read in a small tote bag to grab on your way to the OB's. Just don't keep it where small children can get to it...

5 out of 5 stars Good record keeper.......2007-07-07

I used this journal for my first my pregnancy and am using the revised version now. Being high risk, it is great to be able to refer to my first journal weekly to see if I'd experienced the same symptoms the first time around. It's handy to take to dr visits to help remember questions I wanted to ask.The section tabs and the pocket are great additions. I wish there was a tab for each & every section, rather than just 3 general sections-had to add my own. This book is ideal for record keeping and remembering all those little things about the time you spent carrying your baby. I highly recommend it.

for the most part the book is okay but they don't give you enough information to jot down your thoughts.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent resource to keep on track.......2006-08-30

I found this book to be exceptionally laid out and detailed, helping me keep on top of what I need to be doing to be the best during my pregnancy. I am a high risk mother to be, and appreciate being aware and organized, and feel it benefits my baby and my body. I truly recommend this as another tool to help throughout this wonderful experience.

2 out of 5 stars Maybe if you are a high risk pregnancy.......2006-02-15

This book/organizer is for the expectant mom who needs to track her daily intake - down to how much water she drinks - but not for anyone who wants to enjoy her pregnancy & not worry about & write down everything she eats for the next couple of months - So, unless you are a high risk pregnancy or completly neurotic - this book is not for you - at least I know it's not for me!

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Good book for list people.......2007-09-12

I bought the pregnancy organizer because I really like having lists and being organized. This book does exactly that and is really helpful, you do need a separate book though if you need more substance.

3 out of 5 stars Not what I expected........2007-07-13

This was a present from my mom. It was nice, but not what I expected.. Too cold, like a calendar, while I expected something more warm, to express my feeling on my pregnancy.. I used for a couple of weeks, and then bought a lovely diary to keep my thoughts there. This book just felt to clinical.

Hope this is useful, have a great day!

4 out of 5 stars Useful Charts.......2007-06-01

I like the way this is organized. I am a very organized person. I am keeping a journal for the baby but in that one I son't want to add all the things that make me miserable but in the organizer I feel like I am being scientific rather than a whiner.

The best feature of the organizer is the symptoms chart, it shows which thing is normal for which month. I am at week 11 and exhausted and seeing that in the second trimester the fatigue and nausea goes away gives me hope.

5 out of 5 stars Great Organizer for Mothers to Be.......2007-03-23

I am a very disorganized person and this seems to be a very easy conscise book with important tips & questions to ask, without being overly riddled with information. Because lets face it. If you are a Mom to be, you are reading every book, magazine and pamphlet you can get your hands on to make sure you are getting all the info. Well I found this had information in the appropriate places. It's small enough to keep in a bigger sized purse, and it's again, not censory overload.
I think it's an asset to anyone who is planning a pregnancy or is in the very early stages of pregnancy.

5 out of 5 stars Great organizer, keepsake and reference for subsequent pregnancies!.......2007-03-17

I used this organizer with my first pregnancy and it was wonderful--it had everything I needed in one compact place. After my son was born, I found that I loved looking back on my weekly journal pages and remembering milestones and significant happenings during his pregnancy. We are pregnant again and are using the first organizer to remind us when we can expect to hear the heartbeat, do our ultrasound, etc. I have ordered a second organizer for this pregnancy and am enjoying it very much--especially knowing how it will help me relive details in the years to come. Pregnancy is such a wonderful time and, yet, details really do get hazy! Love her pregnancy and baby books and love this organizer.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Fabulous Book.......2007-01-13

I had been looking for a "to do" list for baby planning online and wasn't having any luck. I wanted something that would tell me "by the time you're 3 months along, have these things done." These being my first children (twins), I wasn't sure what I should be doing or when. This book was exactly what I was looking for. Though it isn't written specifically for multiples, it still works for them. The author is actually a mother of twins herself. My twins are almost a year old and I still use the book to write down questions for the pediatrician and gifts the kids receive. Not only was it great for preparing for the babies, it will be a wonderful memento later, as it has spaces for all of your doctor appointments, the birth information, hospital visitors, pediatrician appointments and more.

2 out of 5 stars Some good info but not much of an organizer.......2007-01-08

While I find some of the checklists and suggestions useful, I found it difficult to use as an organizer. I would have liked pockets to hold receipts and appointment cards, a calendar and so on. I found it difficult to locate the pages where I could write in appointment information and if I squeezed in a new appointment, I had to put it on a later page since there are only 3 appts. per page. In the end, I tossed it aside and just moved back to my daytimer. Overall, I'm sorry I spent any money on it.

5 out of 5 stars List makers dream.......2007-01-04

While preparing for baby can be an uncertain and scary time, this book brings some order and organization to the planning process. Keeping track of medical bills, doctor appointments, weight gain, barrowed goods, furniture dimensions and purchases for the little one has been extremely helpful for my peace and sanity. I carry this book wherever I go. I would highly recommend this book to anyone expecting. I have loaned it to friends who recently had babies and they added thier own notes as well. It was exactly what I was looking for!

5 out of 5 stars Best Book to Get Ready for baby.......2006-12-27

I used this book when I was preparing for the birth of our first baby. It had practical advice and helped me to focus on what was REALLY important to have in place before the baby came. Most first time mom's aren't really sure what all is needed or required to make the transition to motherhood smooth and I found this book invaluable! I recommend it to all first time moms and have given it to just about everyone I know that is having a baby for the first time. Its also a great reference for subsequent children just to make sure you remember what you need to have in place. I can't say enough about this book. Every mom-to-be should have this book.

5 out of 5 stars Get it, you won't regret it!.......2006-10-09

I got this book as a gift very early in my pregnancy. I was a little overwhelmed at first because this lady has remembered everything and it seems like to much to do before the baby got here. I found that I used as a guide and didn't get too picky about the little details. I recomend this for everyone before their first baby. It helps to remind you of all the things you didn't think of. I now give them as baby shower gifts! Get it, you will not regret it!

2 out of 5 stars not wild about this one.......2004-05-12

I purchased several books when I learned that I was pregnant. This book seemed to have comprehensive information, as well as a way to efficiently organize appointments, etc. However, the organizer is not intuitive to complete -- you begin numbering on the day of your LMP, but then the organizer follows a calender year format, so it is not clear how to number the days. Also, there is no space to enter the dates/days of the week. I found myself crossing out the dates several times, which created a mess. The book has several errors, as well -- e.g., states that both you and your mate each contribute 46 chromosomes (impossible!), then describes emotional changes secondary to hormones as "emotional liability" (the correct term is "emotional lability"). This misinformation caused me to doubt the correctness of the entire book! Finally, while the book begins on the date of your LMP, it provides information regarding embryological development on a weekly basis, starting with the date of fertilization. As a result, the "monthly" information is actually "off" by 2 weeks! On the positive side, there are some good questions to ask providers, etc -- but this information is easily obtained (free) online.

2 out of 5 stars OK if You Want A Lot of Information.......2002-05-07

I was dissapointed with this organizer when I received it. I was looking for more of a journal/ organizer type of book than an informational book. This would have been a good gift for my first pregnancy but I wanted more space this time around to record doctors appointments, tests, ultrasounds, etc... This book just doesn't have it.Wish I had stuck with the one I used for the first baby, What to Expect When You Are Expecting Pregnancy organizer. A lot more room to record your own info.
I would give this as a gift to a first time mom though.

5 out of 5 stars A "must have" if you are pregnant!.......2000-12-08

I am newly pregnant and this organizer has been wonderful for me. It has a page every month to show your body's growth throughout the nine months. There is also a daily space for reminders or to journal your thoughts, emotions, or symptoms.

The organizer also includes checkoff lists for things such as buying maternity clothes (no matter what season you are pregnant), buying things for the nursery, or questions to go over with your doctor, hospital and daycare provider.

It truly is a "must have" if this is your first pregnancy or your fifth!

    Book Description

For the woman trying to conceive, a single place to track and organize cycle and fertility stats and records, as well as tips on staying in prime shape throughout the process

"When did I ovulate last month?"

"Does my LH surge always happen on Day 15?

"How long ago did I get my FSH tested?"

When it comes to getting pregnant, timing and accuracy are everything, yet you have to have the organizational bent of a bookkeeper to keep track of the relevant details! What a woman in charge of her fertility really needs is one place to track everything--a handy log to keep on the nightstand, to toss in her purse when she goes to the doctor, or to whip out for reference when she's searching the Internet.

Spiral-bound for easy and frequent use, The Essential Fertility Log is all that--and a lot more. It has three main sections: a daily journal with space to record ovulation/cycle information, a monthly calendar that displays the big picture of fertility and menstrual cycles, and a section for medication, treatment, and test records. Fun factoids and tips throughout also emphasize staying fit and healthy through regular exercise, good nutrition, and stress management.

A source of daily encouragement as well as a tool for effective communication and collaboration with her doctor, The Essential Fertility Log will keep a woman's spirits up as she rides the emotional roller coaster of trying to conceive.

    Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars great Journal .......2007-08-12

This is the second log I've owned. I purchased the first one(the same exact book) at a bookstore and paid 75% more. This book helps me keep up with remembering to take my temperature and vitamins. It also helps me keep up with my test results and log my goals for each week.

    5 out of 5 stars Great Book.......2007-06-26

This book is helpful. Great advice and allows you to keep notes/feelings and everything in one place. Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Great way to stay organized!.......2007-03-27

I bought this book thinking it would be easier than using a regular calendar and it is wonderful! It keeps all your notes, test results, BBT charts in one place, and lets you fill in monthly calendars for looking at the "big" picture. I would recommend this log to anyone who is having a difficult time TTC as it helps keep everything organized and accessible.
