Customer Reviews:
cute for babies!.......2004-03-14
The book feactures catonn like pictures of ladybugs, spiders, butterflies,
and other bugs. One picture per page and the name of the bug is listed at the bottom. We read this to my 10 month old daughter and this keep her attention well.
The colors are bright, which catches a baby's attention. The print is big. Only one word per page which is great for keeping babies and toddlers attention!
I would recommed this book to others. The book is made of sturdy board type pages making it easy for little hands to turn the pages and enjoy the book with ease.

No Text.......2007-01-12
Love the "doctor", but this abridged version has virtually no text to speak of. 2 or 3 flaps and that's it. Bores me AND my daughter to death.
Customer Reviews:
Kids will love to read!.......2005-02-27
My 4 year old son loves this book. My son does love books and being read to but due to his autism, I sometimes wonder how much he understands about what he is reading. Autistic people are visual learners so the pictures mixed with the words is a wonderful way for him to understand the book and get excited about it. I read it to him last night, and this morning when we were getting dressed, he pretended he was the boy in the book by putting is pants on his head. That is truly amazing for him to so actively pretend play like that. I then read the book to him again and then he went through it by himself to read it again. I am now looking for more of these types of books for him. My older daughter also loved this book and so did her entire kinder. class. I highly recommend this book.
my favorite of the books in the series.......2003-05-26
The author of this story must be a very ingenious writer.
Most writers would undoubtedly be at a loss to combine animal names, names of clothes items, and names of body parts in a single plot--and furthermore incorporate the element of children's repartee.
For beginning readers or ESL students, you can use this book for a lesson on any of these three topics.
Fun reading prep for young children, with flash cards.......2001-06-03
My two-year-old brings this book to me all the time. Simple text augmented with rebus pictures means that he can participate in reading the book, and he loves that!
Silly Willy needs to get dressed but he is, after all, silly. So he puts his pants on his head and his hat on his nose, etc. each time prompting his mother to tell him he looks like some animal, such as a bunny or a duck. It is a sweet, if slight, little story, and Willy and his mom obviously have a happy and friendly relationship. Willy's mom helps him get things right in the end, though Willy asserts that he is still silly.
Twenty-four flash cards are fun for children who can point or speak, and primarily contain objects found in the book.
The whole series of All Aboard Readers is worthwhile, and Silly Willy is no exception.
very cute and promotes learning to boot........2000-08-04
Silly Willy is in the process of getting dressed. As he dresses he puts his clothes where they don't belong. He puts his pants on his head and his mom says no, you look like a rabbit-silly willy. Finally, he gets the right things on the right places. This is all done with cute rhymes and pictures for words. Between the pictures are simple words that have rhyming phrases. My 3 year old LOVES to help me "read" the book. My 5 year old loves to read it. In the back of the book are flash cards that you can read through for fun at the end of the book. They don't have to be used for "drilling" your kids. Mine love to practice their reading this way.
I have to say this whole series of all aboard reading is terrific. My kids love the stories and there is definately improvement in their word recognition.
Customer Reviews:
nice cozy story, but the plot is rather weak.......2003-05-26
This book, like all of the picture readers in this series, is good for teaching nouns.
The story deals with a pet cat who tries to rid himself of a pet dog by running in circles, thereby making the dog too dizzy to find his way back home. However, his scheme boomerangs so the dog helps the cat return home.
fun reading prep book with flash cards.......2003-01-11
This story is about Otto the Cat and the day a new puppy comes to live at HIS house. The first two-page spread is typical of the whole book: a full-page picture on the right shows Otto being driven to the pet store; the left-hand page inserts pictures for many of the simple [nouns] being used, and reads -- "Otto is a [cat]. He lives in a [house]. MY [house], says Otto. He has a [bed]. MY [bed], says Otto."
The story shows Otto wanting the puppy to stay away from his things but eventually growing to like him. The story is 11 pages of a few lines each, and is followed by four pages of flash cards (six on each page) which are mainly nouns contained in the story, with a picture on one side and the word opposite.
Our toddler loves the feeling of participating in the reading, enjoys the funny story, and likes to point at or say the flash words. This is fun reading prep material that your preschooler might enjoy too!
Others in the series are Silly Willy, Don't Wake the Baby and In a Dark, Dark House.
Wonderful book for toddlers.......2000-03-09
This series of books has very simple story lines, with pictures for some of the words. Otto has engaged my 3 year old son... this is his favorite book right now. I am thrilled because he is doing beginning reading. The head of children's books at a large bookstore recommended it to me. I was a little skeptical because the pictures are pretty simple. She did, however, know what she was talking about. It's a good book and a good series.

fun reading prep book with flashcards.......2003-01-11
Our narrator, a boy of 4 or 5, tells us about his encounter in a spooky house. The first two-page spread is typical of the whole book: a full-page picture on the right shows the boy walking down a country road at night; the left-hand page inserts pictures for many of the simple [nouns] being used, and reads -- "The [sun] went down. The [stars] came out. The [clock] struck ten. And I went walking under a dark, dark [moon]."
The story shows the boy entering a room in a scary house and finding a monster there.
This is fun reading prep material that your preschooler might enjoy too, though not if they have monster issues!
Others in the series, sans monsters, are Otto the Cat, Silly Willy and Don't Wake the Baby.
In a Dark, Dark house.......2002-02-13
In a Dark ,Dark House
The story is about a house where no one has gone before.
There is a scary noise In the Dark ,Dark house.
In the Dark, Dark House interests me because it's like a mystery.

My sons favorite.......2000-04-05
I purchased this book for my son, he was 3 at the time, I never thought i would be reading it over and over this many times.I have read this to him so many times, that I am going to buy another copy, the one i have is so worn from hours of enjoyment, it is falling apart. My son is almost 5 now, and is starting to reconize the words now. He knows the book so well, that he sometimes tries to read it to me!He loves the ending where the monster is in the trunk, and i have to sometimes read just the ending over and over.Thank you for such a great childrens book, it is helping him with his pre-school reading!

Customer Reviews:
A fun and easy to read book for your child.......2006-11-10
This is a fun book for your child. My daughter has it memorized. It is a good learn to read book, but as far helping you to teach your child about your new baby...that didnt help us here. She is always trying to wake up the baby.
I like the series.......2004-11-27
My daughter loves this series. She is so proud about being able to read these books "all by herself." I would give this book 5 stars, but as a breastfeeding mother, I was disappointed that this book, like most of the books we have gotten about "big sisters" teaches that bottle feeding is the norm.
Interactive, sweet and fun.......2001-06-03
Our narrator, a girl of 4 or 5, tells us about the new baby at her house. The first two-page spread is typical of the whole book: a full-page picture on the right shows a mom and dad bringing a baby home where he is greeted by the family pets and his new sister; the left-hand page inserts pictures for many of the simple nouns being used, and reads -- "We have a new (baby) in our (house). His (hands) are tiny. His (feet) are tiny. He is so cute."
The story shows how the baby naps through many everyday noises, though his sister worries about him being disturbed, only to be awakened by a tiny fly buzzing about. The baby cries. Neither a bottle nor a bunny comfort him. It turns out he wants to be held by his big sister. She kisses his nose and the baby falls asleep. The story is 21 pages of a few lines each, and is followed by four pages of flash cards (six on each page) which are mainly nouns contained in the story.
My two-year-old loves the feeling of participating in the reading, enjoys the funny story, and likes to point or say the flash words. I'd bet your preschooler will enjoy it too!
