Book Description

An inspiration for mom's everywhere! "These stories made my heart smile." -Catherine Oxenberg, actress It will change your life forever. Although you undoubtedly heard those six words many times after announcing that you were expecting, you couldn't have imagined what they really meant. And then the moment came. You held your baby in your arms and felt an outpouring of emotion like you had never known before. And just like they said, nothing was ever the same. Motherhood is a lifelong journey that's as unique as every woman who embarks on it. No other role defines us as deeply and fills us with as much compassion, or tests our strength and patience more extremely! No other relationship fills our hearts with as much love, wonder and awe for another human being. Although motherhood is a timeless calling, today's moms have unique challenges and rewards. In this book you'll learn from other mothers and seasoned grandmothers who share the universal worries, the tears and the laughs that come with the job, as well as the wisdom to help you be the very best mom you can be. These stories are for every mom, whether you're an expectant or an adoptive mom, a stay-at-home or working mom, or a grandmother watching your grandchildren grow. Share this book with any mom to remind her of the profound role she will forever play in her child's life.

Book Description

Indigo Children can be recognized by their high intelligence, intuitiveness, creativity, and energy. They are also can have trouble "fitting in," can be depressed, and in deep emotional pain. Contemporary society has made numerous attempts to help them heal. After-school programs, counseling, medication—all can be good and valid—but their cognitive approach has not addressed the spiritual wounds that cause many Indigo Children to feel out of place in this world.

SPIRITUALLY HEALING THE INDIGO CHILDREN (AND ADULT INDIGOS, TOO!) is the first book to provide a therapeutic process, sourced in the world of Spirit, that celebrates these children's inherent knowing; brings life-changing transformation to their attitudes and behaviors; and affirms their soul-vision of a perfect world. Parents and children play games that take the shape of sacred ritual, to bridge the gap between how they intuitively perceive the world, and the experience of the pain and unjustness surrounding them. This healing process will soften, and hopefully remove, the pain and discomfort Indigos feel in being who they are, and give allow them the space to come into the fullness of their purpose.

4 out of 5 stars But honour individuality too.......2006-09-07

The author of this book, Rabbi Dosick, collaborating with his wife, an experienced psychotherapist, shows great compassion for metagifted children, and obviously draws on the rich heritage of his faith to create rituals for their spiritual healing. Families who have long been familiar with - and participated in - the ceremonial aspects of formal religion (even if other than Jewish) may feel quite comfortable with proscribed rituals like these. (You are told the exact movements and wording to use.)

However, families whose beliefs fall outside of the scope of organised religion may want more latitude in expressing their personal values, as well as giving their children more choice. Such parents may prefer the books of Maureen Gath or Connie Bowen, for example, or may want to develop their own ideas with input from their child - even to change the healing context altogether.

The important point is that empowerment for each child occurs in a highly individual way; it may or may not be through some form of formulaic expression. Having worked with many similarly gifted children, including my own, I have seen about as many variations as there were children! This, in my view, is part of what makes them "Indigo" and as such needs to be respected.

It must be emphasised that this book is not a parenting manual and isn't intended to be: If you want one you will need to look elsewhere. In rearing such a child (or in "re-parenting" the Indigo child in yourself as an adult) it is vital to cover every aspect of life using a holistic approach. For this reason I would also recommend authors like Michael Mikalko ("Cracking Creativity") Roger von Oech ("A Whack on the Side of the Head") , Tony Buzan ("Mind Mapping") Mari Messer ("Pencil Dancing") Jonathan Mooney and David Cole ("Learning Outside the Lines") and Jeffrey Freed and Laurie Parsons ("Right-brained Children in a Left-brained World.") I also found Ostrander and Schroeder's "Superlearning 2000" invaluable. Wendy Chapman's website for the multi-talented is one of the best on the subject of Indigos, adults as well as children. (As with the title, any reference in the Dosicks' book to adults is afterthought.)

Even though I would not wish to apply this book to the letter, I did find it greatly stimulated my own ideas. However, I did have a reservation: I cannot accept the authors' historical interpretations, particularly regarding the advent of "Indigo" children as being only recent (Rabbi, your Hebrew prophet, Samuel, may well have been just such a child!) Maybe we are simply recognising them more. Neither can I accept the origins of Indigo chldren as so authoritatively given - which is that they are Vietnam veterans reincarnated.

And one last note of caution: Let's not create spiritual elitism in these children. All children are special in some way. In fact, I have had some major soul-lessons from those whom society unthinkingly refers to as handicapped.

5 out of 5 stars loved this present.......2005-08-25

This is a great present for someone!! My family gave me this book. I couldn't believe it. It's great to have thier favorite sayings and see what they think about a lot of things. Some of the things we'd talked about, but lots of the topics were new for us. TIme will tell if I'll agree with all they said, but it was really interesting to hear their thoughts.

5 out of 5 stars for the grandkids.......2005-04-21

This really appealed to me as a gift to my nearly adult grandchildren. I've never seen anything like it. It is an easy way to let someone know what you think it takes to live a good life. I think it's important to pass on what we've learned, big or small. The book is good looking and the questions on each page are really good. There is usually one topic per page, just about right.

5 out of 5 stars A meaningful graduation present.......2005-04-19

This is the perfect graduation gift. My wife and I are filling this out together for our son as a great way to explain our beliefs and advice without a "sit down" lecture. Our son can read it in private, at his own pace and keep it as a record of "us," always. My wife loves writing the parts on love (how to know when you're in love, what makes a good marriage...) and body health (exercise do's and don'ts, good-tasting nutritious meals...) and I like the sections on spirituality (what being spiritual means, what to do when your faith is shaken...) and success (special heroes and mentors, and how to look at failure...). We feel good about doing this for him.

4 out of 5 stars Pagan Parenting.......2007-01-12

I'm really enjoying this book. There aren't a lot of places for people to go for advice on educating children about alternative spiritual practices. My child is autistic and we've spent so much time on basic life skills that we had forgotten about the most important part of his development, his spiritual development. This book is really helpful in that area.

3 out of 5 stars Pagan Prenting.......2006-08-13

it is a good read for ideas but it is kind of a slow read, not really engaging.

5 out of 5 stars Not Just For Pagans.......2006-05-22

I read this book when I was just looking for more natural ways to parent and definately long before I met Kristin. It helped me to trust myself and my own instincts more while giving me fresh ideas and theories to apply.

If I remember right it was the only "baby" book I read while pregnant with my youngest. After reading it I knew I didn't need to read anything else.

Definately worth the read and consideration when wanting to become more in tune with your children.

4 out of 5 stars One of the better parenting books.......2005-09-17

This book takes a totally different approach compared to other popular wiccan or pagan parent books. It has good, thought provoking things about your child from the moment of conception through thier developmental years. It has good ideas and ways to figure out where your child is spiritually and how to connect with them.

2 out of 5 stars very basic.......2004-12-28

I must say that the more books aimed at pagan parenting the better, but this book is definately geered more toward the parent who is new to paganism and parenting. It has many cute ideas and activities to do with kids. If you are a seasoned parent or pagan, this book will simply be old news.

Book Description

For years, witchcraft has been seasonable. It seems every September and October, witches are on bulletin boards, front porches, and windows, as decorations for the upcoming Halloween season.

But, I have news for you. Witchcraft is not just for Halloween anymore. Our children are prime targets of these beliefs. 365 days a year, children are being preyed upon by witchcraft through the promotion of cartoons, toys, and games. There are also professing witches in the field of education. This puts our children in a very vulnerable position.

It has been said, "Those who control the youth, control the future." Could there be a plan in witchcraft to control the future of your child? Does God promise to protect Christian homes when parents allow occult items in their homes? No.

Through this book, you will learn some alarming evidence. Some of the information in this book includes: Understanding which witch is which; Is there a difference between white and black magic? Are trolls, smurfs, mermaids, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and other cartoons and games safe for your children?; 14 secrets witches hope you never find out; 7 practical ways to prevent your child from getting involved in witchcraft; and 27 scriptural admonitions for protecting your children.

1 out of 5 stars Polluting bookstores with messages of hate.......2007-07-16

Too bad I can't give this book zero stars. Being a Wiccan myself, I was absolutely appalled at how my religion was presented in this book with no factual evidence of any kind to support his bogus claims. Benoit is simply jumping on the bandwagon of other authors that are trying to "save" this generation from the "dangers" of witchcraft, and preying off of society's fear of witches and just adding to the negativity towards witches in the media, which is a big problem today.

Mr. Benoit, since you're such a good "Christian", are you aware of one of _your_ rules of "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you?" Because it seems like you've forgotten ALL about that when you wrote this book.

1 out of 5 stars author hopes parents never find out he sucks.......2007-06-27

When I first saw this book I thought, " okay this author has found 14 things in Wicca/Neopaganism he as a Christian disagrees with. Let's read what he has to say." Aside from the irony of the title ( we Neopagans are pretty open about what we are and are not , and we don't " target" children.), there was little to NOTHING about Wicca or Neopaganism discussed in this book. What was discussed is a mishmash of assorted things such as the Smurfs, Bart Simpson and the like, which BTW have NOTHING to do with Wicca. Now you'd think a book ABOUT " witches" would actually tell the basic facts about Wicca, wouldn't you? This book doesn't even do that.

Yes I am Pagan a Wiccan for over two decades in fact. And no I never " targeted" children for conversion. I DO, however, try to read Christian books, watch Christian tapes and so forth when they discuss my religion or related topics. This book is so badly done and "researched" it's like a lazy high school sophomore wrote it. There are better Christian books about Wicca ( Which isn't saying much as most of them attack Wicca as well with similar ignorance.) I have also read far worse books written by Christians, one comes to mind involving the author's repeated trip to hell with Jesus. Even as a Christian book this book is pretty lame and pathetic.

I am not against Christians writing books about Wicca and so forth. But could you evangelical /fundamentalist Christians at least TRY to be factually accurate? For ONCE?

Its books like this and related materials Christians churn out that discredits Christianity. It's very simple, folks. If we see you lie, distort or omit informantion about something we KNOW about, how can we believe you about your claims of salvation, resurrection and so forth? Too many times I have seen Christians lie and distort the facts to fit their "one true way" doctrines. A number of your self-proclaimed experts have lied to you. Mike Warnke is one example. And yet WE'RE the bad guys.

We're not out to get your kids, folks.

1 out of 5 stars Couldn't even read it...it was that bad........2007-04-12

My husband and I enjoy reading books on paganism from a Christian view point. However, this one was the worst we EVER picked up. We are both practicing pagans and as my husband read this aloud I wanted to refuse to listen. At most 1% of it's "facts" are actually true. The book is written with no research or worthy supporting evidence. All seems to have just been made up from the top of his head. This book should be burned and only read to laugh at one man's twisted mind.

If you truely want to learn about what real Wiccan's believe in please go pick up a book by either Raymond Buckland or Scott Cunningham.

1 out of 5 stars Good Lord, how pathetic... Too bad I can't give it a 0.......2004-12-20

I don't even have to read this book to know that it's a load of lies and nothing more then a schizophrenic's imaginings.

Anyone who would even remotely entertain the idea of a troll doll or smurf being an agent of Satan seriously needs to go see a psychiatrist, and I'm being very serious about that. Anyone who will listen to or believe what a man says who believes troll dolls to be Satanic, really do need to re-evaluate their way of thinking, and I would also suggest them going to see a psychiatrist... And the old notion that rock music and television leads kids to Satan. How tiresome. I really wish these foaming-at-the-mouth, bible-thumping, heretics would find some new material, however amusing that old chestnut might be.

1 out of 5 stars Now I know!.......2004-06-08

As a Christian and an ex-wiccan, I have come accross a lot of Christians who are very poorly informed about what Wicca is really about. Things like, "Wiccans get together and pray against Christians on Halloween." "Wiccans are worshipping satan." And lots of stuff about the smurfs and troll dolls. I have had to correct and educate scores of people on the realities (and grossly false percieved realities) of Wicca. In the midst of this, I have always wondered where people come up with such bizzarre ideas about Wicca.

I now know, however, where people must have been coming up with this stuff....I think they read this book.

Christians who really want to be eduacted in a way that you can come to a legitimate understanding of Wicca should not bother with this book. If you want a Christian (and SUPER easy to read) perspective on Wicca, call Focus on the Family and ask for "Breaking the Spell: The Hidden Traps of Wicca," instead.

1 out of 5 stars clueless.......2007-05-21

guys like this do more to drive people away from christianity than sensationalists like marilyn manson or anton laveyy could ever have done in their entire careers. by shrieking against a pop culture that is not aimed at him or for him, and assuming, ignorantly, that this equates to evil, or in this case, actual satanism, simply makes him look like an idiot and a clueless old jerk railing in the wind about 'these kids these days!...'. the worst kind of idiocy and proof for those looking to find the kind of judgemental, close minded, ignorant ranting in Christian circles, and in one fell swoop undoes decades of reaching out to youth and attempts at good will that more moderate, intelligent folks have done. if it were possible to give this guy negative stars, i would. useless, wrong, not just poorly researched, but NOT researched...assumptions are made from base statements regarding lyrics and second and third hand accounts thaqt are clearly either incorrectly perceived or just made up of whole cloth. ironically, this book is a great deal more sinful than the material larson rails about in the pages, breaking one of the Ten Commandments, 'thou shalt not bear false witness...'. when he attaches his own wrong claims to a pop cultuure that is clearly not 'eee-villll!'

not only is this a waste of money and space for anyone who buys it, it is a waste of paper and time from the publishers, and anyone who reads this will be LESS informed, and possibly less intelligent, after reading it. quite a feat.

1 out of 5 stars Denounce Satan...worship the Almighty Dollar instead.......2006-12-26

This is just yet another piece of dreck designed to cash in on the mid-80s "Satanic Panic", and I question Larson's motives, considering the facts uncovered by Cornerstone magazine in their expose of him:

- Much of the story in Larson's novel "Dead Air" was actually done by ex-Bob Larson Ministries staffer Lori Boespflug, yet it's presented solely as Larson's own
- Despite a claim to have "saved thousands", a scheduled visit to Larson's Denver offices by Cornerstone's Mike Hertenstein and Jon Trott (who also wrote an expose on Christian comedian and alleged ex-Satanic high priest Mike Warnke that later served as the focus of an excellent book, "Selling Satan") was cancelled by Larson on the flimsy grounds that he feared Cornerstone "would make their names public and expose them to ridicule"
- Larson never said how much $$$ he took in, and actually took a show caller who attempted to quote the actual figure off the air, claiming he was "about to spread lies"

And if you don't believe me, consider that Anton LaVey's Church of Satan's membership consists of a mere 5,000-6,000 (so much for the alleged "global Satanic network"), LaVey himself denounced heavy metal as "just noise", and no major investigations into alleged "cult crimes" ever took place, despite the shocking statistics quoted by Larson, Warnke, and others. Is it any wonder why the notion of ritualistic abuse has been largely dismissed, except among a select handful who either continue to believe these wild tales or use them to continue defrauding the faithful?

4 out of 5 stars Good Book.......2006-07-10

As a former Satanist, now a born-again Christian, I believe Larson does a good job at warning about the dangers of Satanism and how to combat it. The only reason it took off the fifth star is because he does sensationalizr it occasionally.

1 out of 5 stars Puddles of fun.........2005-11-11

I have had a hard time not to think that Bob is not just a Satanist posing as a christian writing all this stuff and wiggleing with joy as the fundamentalists consume it. (hey if I was rich and had nothing better to do I might do the same)He never questions the "testimonies" of the either joking or disturbed teenagers who annonamously call his show. He tries, rather patheticly, to appeal to a secular audience with the symbols page which contains among others, the anarchy symbol, peace symbol and a representation of the baphomet that is an inverted pentagram with two dots for eyes.
"Im a satanist. I hate your god. I listen to black metal music..." so begins yet another chapter, this one about the always "evil" metal genere.
this book is a bad choice if your looking for actual information, but a good one to add to your satanic panic collection, which must include also "satans underground" or "Michelle remembers". I have wasted enough of my time writing this, ugg.. tired.. my point is if you are a Satanist you may, emphisis on may, want to get this book to entertain you after those long days at work.

1 out of 5 stars Learn about Satanism from Satanists - stop Propaganda.......2005-07-04

Christianity has created an Arch enemy of the Creator for which intrigue youth and those who deeply feel that "God" hates and/or abandons them for what ever reason.

These feelings are steeped in "less than" and fear based teachings. When someone believes they are reject of "God" their creator, they will seek out acceptance.

Just reading the first few pages of this book it became clear to me this had nothing to do with Satanism, but rather mixed up, kids - identifying with the Christian and Hollywood context of "Satanism" for shock factor.

"Pentagrams carved into my arms...", well a Pentagram has nothing to do with Satanism, and is an ancient symbol representing the 4 elements and the 5th element of "Spirit".

Kids would not have these delusions about "Satan" or "Satanism" if they were not taught them to be later used for "shock" factor. They would not become obsessed with evil if the "Good" religions of the world would cease their obsession and teachings of "command and control", and "less than" theologies.

If your interested in learning about "Satanists" go visit their website, ask them questions, learn about why and how they came into existence.

Truth Filter #5 - "All serves and is subject to the Divine" - Satan, adopted somewhere around 240AD from Arab Jinn legends, became a powerful tool for "The Church". Satanism, (not to be confused with Luciferians), is fairly recent "Church" which was founded I believe in the 80's in California.

They stand in bold defiance to Church Hypocrisy, some would say "Christian" hypocrisy.

Keep in mind that "Satanist" is a Roman Term, meaning adversary of the "The Church", specifically "The Church of Rome", known today as "The Roman Catholic Church".

Technically - if you "oppose" the Roman Catholic Church, or any of its dogma's or teachings - then "technically" based on the origins of the label "Satanist", you would be a "Satanist". Keep in mind this title had little to do with your belief or no-belief in Satan. Those who would wear a "Pentagram", the "Witches", or the Pagans did not, and do not believe in "Satan". In fact, I am not certain Satanists "believe" in Satan, but Satan does serve their role and mission which is to annoy Christians and make them "think".

Truth and Historical Facts are interesting things. Do your own research. There will be "weirdo" and troubled people who will turn to the name "Satan" and align themselves with "evil" for the shock factor and attention getting of "evil". Some may even claim to take directions by "Satan", many mental patients have cited demons and Satan as the cause for their problems. We blame evil and Satan for many things that happen in our lives.

The real "seduction" & "evil" happened many thousands of years and was backed by many attrocities. It is good that you are seeking truth.

The answers and solutions are rooted in Love, and learning that you are not "less than".

    Book Description

With Love from Heaven is a true story of a motherÂ's struggle to survive the loss of a son. The memoir recounts the anguish of a sometimes crazy, often heart-wrenching search for the strength and peace of mind to go on living after the death of a child. The narrative deals in a very straightforward way with the age-old topic of life after death. Again and again signs are asked for, and proof sought and given, for the continued existence in the spirit world of a teenager who always sees the world through rose-coloured glasses.

With honesty, courage and faith one mother moves towards spiritual maturity and comes to accept her bereavement in a way which allows her to maintain her sanity and renew her commitment to life.

    Book Description

Most serious seekers at one point or another in their lives have asked the fundamental questions of life: Where did I come from?, Why am I here?, Where am I going?, How did I come to be the way that I am? Although we have created a world around us that helps to distract us from contemplating such questions, at some level of our being, they haunt us, begging to be answered. In his book Why Was I Born? Bridging Birth & Justice, Dr. Richard Steinpach reminds us of the knowledge we have buried deeply within ourselves: that we are spiritual entities with a long history in this world and the many planes that exist beyond physical reality. He gives us the key to understanding ourselves and enables us to see far beyond that horizon dictated by our established view of the world. This book along with his earlier publication, Why We Live After Death, collectively casts a bright light on the previously enigmatic poles of human existence: birth and death. In the process, Steinpach creates a glimpse of a world in perfect balance, orchestrated by eternal laws that constantly return to each person exactly that which he has woven for himself in the great loom of creation. Steinpach offers the reader solid ground on which to stand. As we speed towards our destiny in a world experiencing unprecedented change, we can choose between ignoring the warning signs of a world out of balance or resolving to find that quiet place within ourselves that offers true shelter. Richard Steinpach has written a book that directs us to that place, and in doing so sets us on the right course to finding peace in the midst of chaos.

      5 out of 5 stars Quite Awakening!.......2007-08-20

If you are familiar with the DVD - The Secret, then this book should be no surprise to you. However, the difference is that this book goes deeper into the "HOW TO" live the life you want and tells you what you need to do to get there. This book is very creative and well thought out. I enjoyed the mini stories. I strongly suggest that you purchase this book only when you are ready and willing to do the "work". The only way you can have the life you want and be in a place of divinity is to do the assignments in each chapter. The rewards after reading this and doing the work is quite awakening! My view on life has completely changed.

1 out of 5 stars Isle of NOT.......2007-07-29

The "Isle of Is" is ill conceived and very poorly written. Content is laughably supercilious contradicting reality and convention. It is straight out of the machination of fakirs and snake charmers. A fanciful retreat into make believe and madness. The "Isle of Is" is Not for children or the easily influenced. I recommend this foray full of deceit for comic relief alone.

      5 out of 5 stars A Jewel of a Book.......2007-01-28

Finally, a spiritual book with a light and joyful touch! It is pure delight - and it works. It's like having your own spiritual guide or guru on the book shelf, ready to interact with you when you open its pages. If you'd like to access "the power of now," instead of just reading about it, visit the Isle of Is. The book is so wonderfully written that it addresses your level of spiritual development, wherever you may be.

I also know several youths, ages 11 to 19, who couldn't put the book down once they started it. Our family did the gratitude section together for Mother's Day. It was wonderful! This book deserves to be on the bestseller list.

      5 out of 5 stars A true experience of a book.......2006-09-19

I am learning so much more by diving inward, and enjoying The Isle of Is as I am practicing the practices--which I just love.I am still experiencing the book in "real time" and yet, time is stretching and bending and bouncing in ways I've never felt before. Truly, the meditation that is the book is a blossoming of lessons and experiences that continue to leave impressions on my spirit. The most visible place I can see its affects is in my relationships with people. That has been most interesting.

5 out of 5 stars One of the best "user friendly" books on awakening I have read!.......2006-09-18

The Isle of Is reads like a fairy tale being told by a wonderful and very wise and lovable person...and what you find out very quickly is that person is you! I have read many books on spiritual truths, but none where the the tools for conscious awakening were illustrated with such creativity, simplicity and humor. I found it fun and enlightening to do the suggested exercises, particularly one about identifying life metaphors and transforming them. I have experienced a profound shift in the way I see life since having read this book.
