Book Description

At some point everyone asks the question: What happens when we die? Robert J. Grant, a popular writer, lecturer, and researcher in many areas of contemporary spirituality, offers a dramatic and encouraging look at the realms beyond physical death.

The Place We Call Home is filled with the personal stories of those who have experienced the other side, either through death, communications from those who have died, or near-death experiences. These stories illuminate the answers to questions about messages from dead loved ones, the light-filled realms of the afterlife, and the real meaning of the "shadowlands."

This is a hopeful and inspiring look at the dimension of life beyond the illusion of death and celebrates the eternal nature of the human soul.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Fantastic read, wonderfully written.......2006-11-05

Grant is published by ARE Press, as are other authorities on Cayce.
His writing style is clear and interesting, and his books are anecdotal and entertaining, as well as informative .

He is one of five people who spent five years reading every single Cayce reading in the library of the ARE, and putting it on CD. That means if Cayce said it, Grant read it.

This makes him one of the foremost authorities on Cayce, today.

One does not need to be a student of Cayce, or interested in his foundation to enjoy this book. It is for anyone seeking answers to life after death.
I encourage you to give it a try!

5 out of 5 stars A Must Read!.......2005-05-09

In the last few years I have read many spiritual books, and this is now one of my favorites.

The author draws on the readings of Edgar Cayce, as well as the views of several others, to discuss the realms that await us after death. A great asset of this book is that it shows how our thoughts and beliefs will actually impact the realm we find ourselves in upon death. For instance, although God does not damn anyone to a hellish afterlife, if someone believes that that is what they will find, they will. However, no one is stuck in a "negative" realm forever - there is always help available to those who are ready to give up their "earth-bound" thoughts.

The author also discusses the importance of prayer and meditation in preparing our souls for the afterlife, and he has included several exercises to help readers with the process.

Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone interested in spirituality, the after-life, &/or Edgar Cayce's readings.

5 out of 5 stars HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK FROM A VERY ADVANCED SOUL.......2004-04-20

The author, Rob Grant, is one of the foremost authorities on the Cayce readings, having studied, catalogued and put them on CD-ROM over a period of five years. Being personally acquainted with the author, I will tell you that he is one of the most advanced souls I've ever met -- genuinely loving, kind, compassionate, helpful, open-minded and throughly knowledgeable about the Cayce readings. His book, The Place We Call Home, reflects all of these. It is a book that gives much hope to the terminally ill, as well as to all seekers. He has written a concise book enlightening the reader with all Edgar Cayce said about passing over to the other side and what we will find there. I have also met George Ritchie, whose near death experience Rob Grants refers to in his book and who wrote a best seller back in the 1960 called "Return from Tomorrow," from which much about which we understand about death and dying came. These two men, more than anyone else, have convinced me of the reality of the afterlife and what one can expect to find there.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS WONDERFUL, HOPEFUL and LOVING BOOK!

1 out of 5 stars The Best One Yet!.......2002-08-16

I highly recommend this book to anyone who has lost someone they love or simply has a curiosity about what happens when we die. It answers so many questions that we all have regarding the afterlife. It gives hope to those of us who are grieving, that we will see our loved ones again. It's the best book I've read yet on the subject and it's my #1 recommendation. Well organized and written so that most readers can comprehend it. A great work! I'd give this book 6 stars if I could!

Book Description

Detailing the great contributions of psychic Edgar Cayce, Dr. Gina Cerminara examines how Cayce penetrated the "previous lives" of his subjects, and performed fantastic cures and prophecies that made him the most remarkable clairvoyent in modern history. Connecting issues such as reincarnation, spiritual healing, past life regression, hypnosis, karma, and parapsychology, Many Mansions looks at the legacy of Edgar Cayce's work in an authoritative and engaging dialogue.

Praise for Many Mansions:

"Edgar Cayce was clearly one of the most remarkable psychics who ever lived. Gina Cerminara's compelling book is. . .unique and extremely important." --Jeane Dixon

5 out of 5 stars Helps you deal with life better.......2007-08-10

A fabulous book, extremely well written. This is one of the few books that has impacted my way of thinking. After reading this I find it easier to accept a lot of depressing things I see in this world.

3 out of 5 stars Tough act to follow.......2007-06-27

I liked the book well enough, but I think Cerminara added too much of her own thoughts on the subject of reincarnation, almost reshaping the message Cayce brought to us through his "channeling". I would have liked to have read more of Cayce's words and less of Cerminara's "interpretations" of Cayce's readings.

5 out of 5 stars Many Mansions: The Edgar Cayce Story on Reincarnation .......2007-02-07

I admire this man and wish his work would have been known to more people.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect explanations.......2006-10-25

This book is wonderful. You won't question any further about there being life after death. This explains it all. You can't help but be emotional when reading the case histories and I couldn't help but to begin to ask questions and receive answers from my spirit guide. If you are just learning about paranormal, psychic abilities, are an opening psychic, have questions on reincarnation, this is the book for you.

5 out of 5 stars A Profoundly Persuasive Book on Reincarnation.......2005-04-28

I still remember how I 'accidentally' discovered this book in the summer of 1972 when I was supposed to do my education dissertation.I spent days carefully reading Many Mansions and at the end of it my whole perspective on life had changed. Dr. Cerminara is logical and thorough.
Very few people can read this with an open mind and not be changed by its world view.
There was also a personal 'happening' with the book. While I was re-reading it a second time in 1973 it disappeared for a few days.
Later my father returned it with the laconic comment:" She's right. We live many lives."
I was surprised because we were a Catholic family and I didn't want to cause waves with my new found views.
In December of that year my father died. I was able to accept his death as one more journey since I felt reassured by his comment. I knew that he was alive but in another dimension. This thought was rewarded by a very vivid dream soon after his death.
One night I dreamt him holding a candle. He told me I should light one to symbolise the continuation of life. Then he disappeared in a rushing wind.
I sudddenly awoke to find the window near to my bed wide open. I had carefully closed it before I had gone to bed because my mother had reminded me to do so. Also a prized framed photo of my father lay broken on the floor.I felt that somehow my father had reached out to confirm what he had said about Cerminara's book.
I think many will be comforted when they read this book. The examples of the subtlety and complexity of the law of karma will stun many.
Dr.Cerminara allowed me to look beyond many experiences I have had in this life and intuit what karmic lessons I needed to learn.
I am delighted that this book is still available. Reading it could change your view of life and its purpose.
I also read two other books that Cerminara did using the Cayce readings. They were 'Many Lives,Many Loves' and 'The World Within'. If you find them you could continue the interesting journey into the world of the Akashic records, karma and reincarnation.

Book Description

The Reincarnation of Edgar Cayce? details the intriguing connection between Cayce and Wilcock and presents the case for both having the same source for their prophetic information. Through the inspirational, life-transforming words from Wilcock's Higher Self, part of a group known as soul readers, can learn how the now obvious "Earth Changes" are energetic increases occurring also on the sun and all other planets in scientifically measurable ways. Breathtaking new evidence indicates how this energy can transform DNA, potentially making ESP, telekinesis, levitation, and other paranormal activities as common as breathing, ushering in the "Golden Age" promised by every major spiritual tradition in human history.

1 out of 5 stars Making it on their own.......2006-03-17

Question: If these rising star psychics are so good, why do they need to hitch their wagons to a claim of being the reincarnation of a dead psychic? I found this a waste of time and money. In fact, I sent it to the island of unread books about 1/3 of the way through it.

5 out of 5 stars Good book to learn more about our Oneness with the universe!.......2005-10-20

I appreciated David alot for his courage to come out and say how he feels now about these matters. To claim to be a reincarnation of the energy of someone famous in the past takes alot of courage and opens one up to the criticizers. Our quantum connection with oneness is also reinterated well in The Yoga of Time Travel by physicist Fred Alan Wolfe. It is nice to know these people are corroborating each other now with this information about the universe. Hopefully people will get out of fear inculcated in us in the past of direct information and we can come to better appreciate how we are eternal beings working in an expansive universe!! David also sheds alot of awareness on questions raised by the DaVinci Code materials nowadays!

1 out of 5 stars Is the author 7 years old?.......2005-09-30

Uhh....am I missing something here or what? The person who is the Reincarnation of Edgar Cayce was BORN in 1998!!! Last time I checked, that is how reincarnation works! That's what is meant by "will enter in '98". No other logical reasoning exists. If this guy is arguing that since he realized who he was in 1998 that that must mean he is the incarnation of Cayce sounds more like him trying to fit a square peg in a round hole and trying to convince the reader he really is the circular peg, just with added corners!! Gimme a Break! I'm a major believer in Edgar Cayce and what his readings contained and am very much read on the subject(s) and this book and author are a belittling insult to the metaphysical philosophy found within the readings. And for the other reviewers who found the structural philosophy of the book interesting there are many more out there that do a much better job introducing you to the edgar cayce story and material than this one. A few that are off the top of my head includes "Our Origin and Destiny", "There is a River", "Many Mansions", "The Story of the Soul" and "Edgar Cayce on Reincarnation" just to name a few of many, many good books about All this Without an ego-trip from the author. You Know, I could claim the same thing and be just as convincing about being Cayce than this guy. But, Oh wait! I forgot! I'm NOT SEVEN years old now am I? Unfortunately, we will all have to wait around twenty years or longer for the genuine article to be old enough to have a chance to write the NON-Fiction version of this book idea! Any first grade teachers out there with a unique child in their class this year? Makes ya think doesn't it? There are much better books out there on this subject. Just type in "Edgar Cayce" in the amazon search bar and find a real book on the subject!

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Edgar Cayce-Prophecies.......2007-07-28

The book is an excellent plunge for readers thrilled with
alternative notions of the future. For instance, Cayce predicts that
America's West Coast may be Nebraska circa 2100. He talked of great social
and political upheavels between 1968 and 1998. We know from current history
that this came to pass. Edgar Cayce felt that "Americans must go to other
lands and carry cooperation with them." He spoke of a Great Crystal which
would harness solar energy. He made projections of great disturbances in
Western USA, Eastern NYS, Northern Europe, Japan, Arctic and Antartic.

Similarities were found between Egypt and Central American pyramidal structures. In addition, the day would come when Greenland and
Antarctica would be without glaciers. The poles would become warmer and
the Great Lakes would empty into the Gulf of Mexico. New land would appear
in the Atlantic and Pacific while oceans and bays would evolve where
there is now land.

Some of these predictions and impressions are quite frightening. I think
that we dismiss these impressions at our own great peril. The presentation
forces us to examine life on earth with more care as we enter into the
future.

3 out of 5 stars Spiritualism and skepticism.......2007-01-04

Very difficult to follow. Nevertheless, I read the entire book. I kept reading hoping to find "where's the beef". Never did. My suspicion is that the difficulty in reading the book is necessary in the eyes of the author in order to disguise what otherwise would be dismissed as nonsense. In a non-fiction book, that's dishonest. My conclusion: another huckster out to make a buck. If there were an honest message in the book, someone should re-write it with the aim of making it clear and simple. Spiritualism should not depend on obfuscation and other slight of hand.

5 out of 5 stars Best Buy on Cayce!.......2006-08-29

This book takes individual readings given over the long term of his "sleeping prophet" career, and arranges them into readable books. Four seperate books are included in this single volume. Without any doubt, this one will give anyone a superb background of his work and ideas, as well as his devotion and personal devotion to Christianity. Definitely well worth the price! Excellent read!

5 out of 5 stars Reader.......2006-06-13

Edgar Cayce is the most documented American mystic. I have found answers to just about any health, life, and spiritual issues from the readings that came from this mysterious man ... including how to eliminate acne! The information works! This book is thick... a very good buy for the amount of information provided here. If you don't know much about Cayce, read "There is a River" from cover to cover, and read it with an open mind. Don't ask how he got that way... just like we don't ask how Jesus got that way. According to Cayce, (and even Jesus), we are all inherently 'this' way... (remember Jesus' statement "greater than these things shall you do...").

4 out of 5 stars Very Good BUT not very complete.......2006-03-20

It should be complete and I prefer literal writings.

3 out of 5 stars CAYCE ALWAYS GAVE GOD THE GLORY . . ........2000-05-19

This is another good Cayce book, and it's unfair to bash this very spiritual man without a through study of his words. If we read what Cayce specifically said regarding Jesus Christ, we see how every reading he gave in trance, as in all areas of his waking life, he never once denied Christ or his divinity or his love for us. Rather, Cayce often said that nothing we do in any lifetime is as important as loving God and our neighbor as ourselves. In one very powerful group of readings, he taught that by his suffering and death, Christ actually took upon himself all our worst karma and thus freed us from that endless Karmic-Wheel-of-Rebirth Hindu's long to be done with. If we accept this salvation of being released by Christ's sacrifice from the necessity of subsequent births, but choose nonetheless to reincarnate, we do so as servant-souls: that is, our lives become a gift we're not obliged to make. Mother Teresa is a good example of such an evolved soul who came back not for her own spiritual gain, but to lead humanity closer to God. When people questioned Cayce about the safest place to be living during the coming earthquakes/tidal waves, he would reply, "Why do you worry so about where your body will be? You should be more concerned about where you are in your relationship with HIM every day!"

5 out of 5 stars Useful workbook-like exercises.......1998-08-15

I don't take the Bible literally, and I don't mindlessly swallow everything Cayce says either. But I liked the exercises, which more or less focus on a "resonance" method -- that is, do the pictures, time periods, etc. resonate with you.

1 out of 5 stars very against the bible.......1998-05-16

The test of a true prophet is his accuracy. Cayce has been wrong and does not glorify our lord and master. Check your bibles and verify everything

5 out of 5 stars Actually, a wonderful book---still.......2002-08-03

I recommend this book 100%. These days I'm a lot less wordy (see below), but still hold the same conviction about Cayce. I think he was the real thing, and that his readings (particularly concerning reincarnation) still hold up today. If nothing else, this is a compelling read and will hold your interest, perhaps even spark some pertinent questions.

Peace.

3 out of 5 stars Interesting, although very biased.......2001-03-29

This book isn't so much Edgar Cayce on reincarnation as it is Noel Langley on reincarnation, with occasional refernces to Cayce. The conviction with which Langley tries to "prove" that reincarnation is, in fact, a Christian view is kind of scary. All of his examples of the plot to bury reincarantion in the bible seem to involve "evil women" of some sort or another; quite a turn off for me. I skipped over most of that. Otherwise, it's full of pretty interesting first-hand accounts.

3 out of 5 stars Unobjective, sometimes scary in conviction.......2001-03-29

What disappointed me about this book was that it wasn't so much Edgr Cayce on reincarnation as it was Noel Langley on Reincarnation and occasionally Edgar Cayce. His conviction, the need of the author to "prove" everything he said made it a little uncomfortable and sometimes boring to read, too. Otehrwise, it's interesting. Lots of good first-hand accounts.

5 out of 5 stars Heresy or Simple Logic? This book begs the question!.......2000-05-19

Are you interested in exploring the concept of reincarnation, without feeling like some spooky little ghoul with an agenda as longas your arm is infusing your brain with the Words of Satan? Well, this book is for you. Written simply, clearly and compellingly, "Edgar Cayce on Reincarnation" motivates the reader to contemplate the question, "Irreversible death or ongoing life?" This review will not provide the answer, nor is it meant to. I'm not sure this book provides the answer, either; just food for thought. And isn't that just grand? Me, I like reading a book that doesn't shove doctrine down my throat. I like looking at things in a pragmatic, sensible fashion, and then arriving at my own conclusions. I was able to do that with this book, and will not hesitate to use it as a reference in the future. "Edgar Cayce on Reincarnation" was so interesting and so thought-provoking that I have devoted myself and (some of) my time to learning more about this truly fascinating man, his offspring and the "A.R.E." I recommend it highly!

4 out of 5 stars EDGAR CAYCE MAY JUST BE THE ONLY TEACHER YOU'LL EVER NEED~.......2000-05-19

I greatly admire the life and work of Edgar Cayce, and this book is an excellent example of WHY: Cayce was a humble, highly evolved soul totally committed to a life of service to suffering children. He'd given free health readings, in a self-induced trance state, for about twelve years before reincarnation was ever mentioned (as the reason for a child's illness). Cayce believed his psychic abilities were the gift from God he'd been promised by an angel as a child, and he read the entire Bible cover to cover yearly, so he was not in any way prepared to accept the idea of reincarnation! Fortunately for us, after much prayer & soul-searching he reconciled the concept with his Judeo-Christian beliefs, and in the process taught us how to do the same. Cayce is the the perfect person to guide Christians just starting to question karma & reincarnation, as well as for more advanced students.(His work includes a list of diseases related to past-life actions which is amazing). Book Description

From Abatha, a maiden to Pharaoh's daughter who drew Moses from the Nile, to Zuekido, a son of Jerubbabel, who led the Jews from Babylon back into Jerusalem, the past lives that were given by Edgar Cayce brought to life a wide range of characters from the Bible. This "Who's Who" of biblical characters brings the past alive and offers insights into soul growth and personal development in the present.

Of the many people who came to Edgar Cayce for a past-life reading, only an occasional individual was told that he or she had an identity recorded in the pages of the Bible. Those instances that were given, however, prove especially interesting. The book provides an understanding of how reincarnation works over time by detailing the similarities and parallels between incarnations.

        Product Description

Taking up where Many Mansions left off, the book pursues the philosophical aspects of reincarnation evidenced in the life readings of world-renowned psychic, Edgar Cayce, as well as from data derived from experiments to determine whether human memory can be taken back to a period before birth. She touches on some of the people who believed in reincarnation—among them, Plato, Virgil, Emerson, Whitman and Edison. The implications of reincarnation for art, psychology, and religion are considered. She notes, in conclusion, the hope and promise that reincarnation holds for our troubled world. This is an important, heartening book, as interesting and credible as it is inspiring. Lucid, concrete, consistent, it will help individuals understand themselves and their destiny. To skeptics or believers, it offers a brave, fresh concept of the meaning of life.
