I am not married, and not committed, so I did not read this book because my marriage was in trouble. The book was recommended to me as a prayer book to pray for my husband to be. I am a firm beliver that God answers prayers; but I was not sure what to pray for in a husband since I dont have one. The book has 30 chapters, and I made it part of my daily devotion to pray for one thing every day. Reading through Stormie's struggles also gives insight of what to pray for in advance, that you would not experince it in marriage. For instance, Stormie talks about her husband not wanting to exercise, and that after prayers, she heard her husband on the treadmill one day. From this, I get insight to pray that God would give my husband an insight to be health conscious even before I meet him. I have recommended this book to a few of my friends, and would recommend it to one that wants a guide to pray for a husband, and especially when you least want to. Worth the time and money spent into it.

This is a MUST-HAVE companion book especially if you are going through or contemplating on going through a Celebrate Recovery 12-step group. Although it is not all about the 12-steps, it is applicable to wherever you're at in life and whatever you're faced with.
I can remember the 1st day I walked slowly into a women's 12-step group @ Saddleback, it was the scariest thing but I did it anyway with faith in God, knowing there are VICTORIES awaiting.
As I cleared out my schedule, including relationships, to stay focused w/ minimal distractions and to allow myself to lean more on God rather than others, I found that going thru the Celebrate Recovery participant guides were emotionally exhausting as I've had to dig up hurts, habits and hang-ups from the past and present. I eventually found myself searching for a book that I could read that was applicable to where I was at - preparing to dive into my 4th step (moral inventory). And so when I came across this profound book title 'Just Enough Light for the Step I'm on' by Stormie Omartian, I thought - "WOW, how applicable!"
One of the cool things about this book, aside from that it points me to God in each page and that there are enlightening prayers throughout, is that this book applies to every experience we face in this life, not just while going through a 12-step. You'll identify with much in this book.

Every Friday I take a sabbath morning. Each week I read a chapter of this book and pray for my wife. I have read the whole book once already. The succinct and timely wisdom contained in this book cannot be underestimated. I write my wife notes or send her emails or skypes each week to tell her what I am praying about.

Wow, I don't know where to begin. I'm in the middle of a marriage crisis as I'm writing this. My wife has left our home and I was needing some answers. This book has taught me how to connect with God and learn about my marriage and my wife as well as the giving me insight into how my wife thinks and functions. I got the audiobook from the library, and after I returned it I missed it so much that I went out and bought the book. I carry it in my purse so that I have it if I need it. It is a wonderful book to read in any time, weather you are already prayerful and feeling close to God, or when you feel like you are falling away from God and you don't know how to find him. There are times when I sit down to pray and the words won't come that this little book has helped me so much. It has the right words to say and the scriptures to help one to say what they feel in their hearts at a time when they need to speak to God. Each daily prayer has scriptures from the Bible to give you strength so you will know that Gods word is right there, upholding each need you have. It is a wonderful pocket prayer book to keep by your side to start the day with. I wouldn't want to be without it.

The enemy was trying to convict me and take my new found joy away. I omitted going to my weekly bible study; I had just purchased "The Power of a Praying Women" and the spirit had another agenda for me that night. I got home, ran a tub of hot water and started reading "The Power of a Praying Woman". I didn't stop until I finished the book. Each chapter touched on a test I was being confronted with. Now I am using this book as a devotional. It gets me through rough and tough times. Even if there are no test, trials and tribulations in your life right now, I highly recommend the reading. It will keep you uplifted so when the storms do come, you will have a life preserver. If not for you, you will be ready to help somebody else.

This book is a must read. I've read it, my husband is reading it and I've bought it for friends. If every person in therapy would read it,their healing time would be cut in 1/2. In the few days it took me to read this book I feel I am a new person. This is a must read for women and men alike. Don't let the title scare you away men. This is a man and a woman's guide to emotional health. I brought this book for my son during the middle of the year, like most teens he threw it aside, because readinging for school and his bible seem enough for him. Later on he picked it up and to my surprise began to read and share a lot of the contents of the book with his friends. He has been difficult since his dad left. This book deals with real life issues for him and appears easy enough for him to continue reading. He has not finished, but he pours over the pages with him bible next to him. I am in awe of the amount of time spent back and forth from the book to his bible. I think teens kids will get more they bargain for when they read this book.

To be honest, I didn't read the book - I skimmed through, but enough to find that there aren't really any stories that give examples of teens who have prayed, and made a big difference because of it. The content that I saw was good and solid, but in my experience as a youth pastor, I see something with real-life stories as a lot more effective with teens.

Prayer is something that really lacks in a teen's life from my experience. This book shows that it is a neccessity in life. It also shows that any problems with may deal with that God can be there to help you through it all. All you need is the connection with him through prayer. So far, this is the most helpful book on prayer that I've read. There's many books on prayer that are very lengthly and have lots of theology. But this book is especially meant for teens about my age (13-19). I suggest this book to any Christian teen who wants to have a good prayer life and who really wants to have an intimate relationship with Jesus. The book covers pretty much everything you, as a teen, will need to pray about. For teens that just became a Christian, don't sweat it! This book is definitely for you, as well as for the teen that has been a Christian for a long time. It reviews all the types of things one should pray about to break the strongholds of the enemy so that God can work in your life and in your school and in your family too. I would suggest this book for the mature and for the immature. The strong and the weak. And for every teenage Christian that loves God. ...the world would be a better place! This book gave me the inspiration to start a prayer journal, something I've NEVER done before. I think it's a great idea to write down our prayers, so we can look back and see how they were answered. The answer may not have been what we expected, but the situation worked out better than we had hoped! This book gave me ideas of things to pray about that I had not considered. I guess I always thought praying a simple "keep my child safe" prayer would capture it all, but as the author points out, it's important to pray about specifics! Lord, I Want To Be Whole The Power Of Prayer And Scripture In Emotional Healing
This is a wonderful guideline for assisting those that are emotionally and spiritually injured - a great resource for pastoral staff in recovery ministry. Ms. Omartian's book emphasizes that the Lord loves us so much that He is willing to bring us back to safety, security, and emotional health (Jeremiah 30:17, KJV):
17For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD"
What's great about this book, is that you may read ahead and skip around chapters, to address issues that may be applicable and urgent at the time of your life, without missing the essence of each lesson. Bravo Ms. Omartian! Another great read!

This book has been more than a blessing to me - spiritually & emotionally. It has helped me to grow and identify with issues within my spiritual walk in a meaningful way. I am a different person and I know the Lord led me to this book for a reason. I cant wait to read another book of hers. Its been awesome and a true testimony !!

This is the most life changing book I have ever read; with the exception of the bible. I found this book I believe in 2002 and continue to read it every week. More and more deliverance. I am teaching from it this summer. Gotta own it!!
